We hiked the Moreau lake overlook trail up to the western ridge trail that has nice views of the Hudson river. Little over 5 miles of rolling hills with some steep parts. This is another very well maintained State park with many options for hiking. It's a short 15 minute ride from Saratoga Springs.

We have been coming here annually for 6 years for a friends weekend. The place is perfect for a weekend of unplugging and just taking in nature and letting the kids be kids. We always go on a hike (about 6 trails to pick from), fishing and hanging out around the clean beach that has a large picnic and pavilion area plus a cute playground. The campsites themselves get cleaned daily and are quite large and ONLY have a fire-pit and picnic table ~ everything else is on you to bring in and definitely take out with you. There is one bathroom per loop ~ with 3 stales, 2 sinks and 2 showers. They also enforce quite hours 10pm - 7am ~ which is great!

The campground is very nice with a beautiful lake and lots of hiking trails. We were very disappointed to find that there is no electric or water at the majority of the campsites. I did read one review that says, in general, state parks do not have hook ups – but our experience has been otherwise.

Very neat and clean park and campground. you can tell that this park is funded far more than some other NYS parks, since they draw the NYC vacationers. I've camped here and was impressed by the clean and specious restrooms and showers, with hot water! (can't say that about some other States parks) I enjoy the hiking trails at the park as well. they are well marked. One of my favorite things about this park is that they allow dogs to swim, even if it's off the main beach, it's nice that they are allowed at all. My only complaint however is my most recent visit 9/31, the person at the front gate neglected to inform me that the lake still had algae blooms, and I didn't see any signs about it near the place I parked, or at the reservoir where I let my dog swim. A passerby let me know, thankfully! I did see a few signs at the boat launch, as I was driving out, but I hope they do better about informing the public, especially in the cooler weather, when people wouldn't necessarily think about it.

Large, wooded, semi private campsites. Nice place to bike around in. Impressed that handicap sites have electric, very good! Clean campground and clean facilities. The beach is nice, but lake was closed for swimming because of high bacteria :(. Staff drives around in noisy golf cart very obnoxious! Staff could also use some customer service training, definitely made to feel like I was bothering them with inquiries. Eco friendly toilets take 3 flushes to work, so why bother?
