Wyndbourne is a restored 1790-era farmhouse, the home of its innkeepers. Rurally located the B&B is a 20-minute drive from Saratoga Springs and Schenectady, an easy drive north to Lake George and the Adirondack Park. There is a focus for breakfasts on fresh, sustainable, local foods. Attention is paid to particular dietary considerations. If you are looking for a quiet weekend in a period/historic environment, Wyndbourne offers a few acres for wandering, an orchard and gardens for exploring, and a view of the Massachusetts Berkshires from the property. There is a queen room with en suite bath and two rooms, a double and a twin, that share a bath. With advanced notice, the double can be offered as a suite with adjoining library and bath. An exuberant, friendly, young Australian shepherd rounds out the family and acts as a greeter when guests arrive. She is kept out of guestrooms and upstairs areas and guests are engaged in the program of teaching her to greet arrivals politely.

We are so glad that we stayed here on our way home from Quebec. Nancy and Ralph have lovingly preserved their 200+ year-old home while updating to to make it a wonderful inn. The gardens and the vistas are stunning. From the art and books they have collected to Ralph’s own artwork to the wonderful breakfast that Nancy serves, Wyndbourne is welcoming and cozy.

I had the pleasure of staying 2 nights at the lovingly and beautifully restored 1700s farmhouse with gorgeous gardens. Owners Nancy and Ralph are fascinating, interesting people--Nancy is a superb cook and poet and Ralph a very talented artist with a great studio on their property. Breakfasts were fabulous--fruit with delicious toppings, pancakes, sausage and breakfast sandwich. Room next to library with tons of travel and history books was charming and filled with antiques. Engaged in their community, Nancy and Ralph talked about their surroundings and the fantastic Cock n Bull Restaurant close by (had a great dinner there). Inn is an easy straight shot 15 min drive to downtown Saratoga Springs. Highly recommended! I'll be back!

Far enough away from the Saratoga "city" touristy stuff - you're out in the country away from it all amidst farms and pastures but close enough to be able to go into town for a "Saratoga night life experience" if that's what you want. Waking up in the morning and getting ready for the day, you open the door to your room and smell the most wonderful breakfast being prepared. It reminded me of the times when I was a kid staying at my grandmothers house in rural Ohio - fresh air, something delicious being cooked in the kitchen when you wake up, and the most lovely and interesting people to sit down and talk to. The puppy was a perfect house dog, once she meets you - she's the best dog on the planet. If you come home late, she will bark (as a good house dog should), but once she see's you she's the most loving dog. The room we stayed in - the green room - was beautiful, with its own bathroom and lovely views of the hills in the morning. Like I said before, coming back from a day of doing out doors stuff, visiting friends, etc was like coming back to grandma's county house. When we left, Nancy gave us a big hug and Summit, the house dog, followed us to the car and watched longingly as we left.

What a beautiful B&B! Normally we stay at hotels, this was our second B&B experience ever and I can’t wait to return to the Saratoga area to stay here again! We were only 20 minutes to the track and downtown Saratoga, returning to this peaceful B&B each night was a treasure. The hosts were so gracious and the work they’ve done to this farmhouse is fascinating, not only are they experts on the area and community but they are lovely people to talk to. Summit the dog is an absolute doll, she may bark when you first arrive but with a warm greeting, she melts into a sweet adorable well-behaved house dog that will greet you with happiness, admittingly I missed seeing her this morning when I woke up at home! The perks to this B&B seem never ending, the gardens are gorgeous, you can spend an afternoon just wandering around the apple trees or the lush wildflowers and the vegetable garden had me thinking of re-designing my own. Bring a book, or take one from their extensive library, I only wished I had more time to spend on the grounds. The rooms were beautiful, we stayed in the green room, the bed was so comfortable I was surprised I slept so well for being in a new place, the views in the morning were so warm and colorful. Breakfast was something we looked forward to everyday, the kitchen is so inviting and the breakfast that was prepared for us was better than any restaurant we’ve been to, fresh fruit as a starter, delicious coffee or tea and fresh juice, we stayed three days. Day 1: Homemade waffles, fresh sliced peaches with Crème fraiche and toasted pecans and bacon. Day 2: Fresh Cantaloupe with granola and an Egg Frittata with onions and peppers with Portuguese muffins. Day 3: Fresh local peaches broiled and served with a black currant jam and mascarpone, pancakes with sliced bananas, and sausage. Every meal was absolutely delicious. It’s a very comfortable stay, plenty of privacy and the home was immaculate as well as being furnished beautifully. We truly couldn’t have asked for more.

My husband and I booked the Green Room for a single night to get away for his birthday. It was our first experience in any B & B and we were very pleased with our stay. We live close nearby, but it felt as though we’d gone far away; a vacation in our backyard so to speak. Nancy and Ralph Caparulo are gracious and friendly hosts and we had a blast talking with them. It felt like staying with family. Summit, the resident dog, was a sweetheart, even though she greeted us with barking. Our breakfast was over-the-top amazing. It was Nancy’s first time making eggs Benedict (my husbands favorite) and she did such a wonderful job I couldn’t believe she hadn’t done it before. We had a beautiful spread outside in the garden and enjoyed the company of bumblebees. I loved coming here and can not recommend it enough for those in the area seeking a B&B. My only complaint is that we didn’t stay longer.

It was such a pleasure to welcome the two of you for a special occasion and we're so glad that you enjoyed your stay with us. Of course, picking perfect weather has a little to do with the success of the experiment! Now that I've gotten over the "first morning jitters" about poached eggs and hollandaise, I will make eggs Benedict again for a future unsuspecting couple! I hope you will come again for some other special reason. Thanks so very much for a lovely review!
