The Parc hotel is conveniently located in downtown Flushing across from the Skyview mall and with easy walking access to all the shops and restaurants. The rooms are clean and the beds are very comfortable, but the basic king room feels a little cramped for two people for more than a short stay. We had originally booked a room with two queens thinking it would give us more space, but evidently all the dual bed rooms are located on the 2nd floor and are noisier. So we elected to take the smaller room on a higher floor. The hotel is located at a fairly busy intersection so the additional distance from the street was important. The staff was professional and helpful with any requests we made (like extra towels). Rates were reasonable for the area.
Went with my girlfriend to see US open. Pro- in walking distance to venue Cons- 1) Hotel feels old- Pictures online are not what I expected. 2) One elevator was in the process of being remodeled while other one looked to have cheap finish on it 3) Rooms not thoroughly cleaned- Desk was sticky; things were dusty; pillows did show signs of age 4) TV remote did not work- turned on, but nothing else functioned with the remote in the room 5) Light in bathroom half worked 6) Blinds missing from the window. 7) Breakfast was very sub par (even for a free breakfast)- Limited choices and luke warm food for the hot food. I would not stay here next year for the event. I would look for other hotel.
Not sure why folks are not ok with this place. We had a very decent experience this weekend. Room was clean and had what we needed. Would suggest a cheat sheet for the tv and ability to watch the U.S. Open somehow given we likely weren’t the only ones there going to the Open. Would also suggest plastic wrapped cups given the COVID situation and more outlets or USB ports by the bed for charging. Otherwise check in and check out were great, rooftop bar was fun and drinks were decent. Many thanks to the server up there for charging my phone! Walk to the Open was very doable. There is not a heterogeneous set of restaurant options in walking distance but there are A LOT of choices.
The hotel close to Citifield where we usually stayed was no longer there so we took a chance on a new one. We were a little skeptical at first because our room looked out over an abandoned are with quite a bit of trash. Later found out that we just need to ask for a different side of the hotel. The rooms were a little small but aren't they all in NY. It was furnished efficiently so we didn't feel too cramped. The best part is the location. It's across from a small mall with a Target & Subway, and it's within walking distance of Citifield. It is good for the price and we would stay there again.
Made a last minute reservation for an overnight stay before heading to Athens. The lobby area and general neighborhood is a little lackluster, but check-in and check-out was quick and no-contact. The room was tiny, but very clean; modern decor that felt very European. In general, very quiet, but we were able to hear a baby across the hall crying at night. Great location for LaGuardia airport and not terrible for JFK; also close to Shea Stadium. Convenient and comfortable overnight stay.
