Our ground floor room was spacious enough for a family of 4. Love how cozy it was and just right beside the ski slope. Breakfast was alright, had the basics. Went during the winter storm unfortunately, thus not much facilities and activities were available.
The room was very nice and the location was good- one mile from town center. The breakfast was a disappointment- very little to offer (all packaged items) and a very limited time window. I was surprised that the front desk did not offer any info on local attractions- we were only given a sheet of local restaurants. Being able to enjoy the outside on the room deck was lovely.
Missing the little things. The rooms were nice, but no microwaves to be seen and only one coffee packet. Their idea of a "Continental Breakfast" was some commercial muffins and coffee in the foyer. The pool was nice too, but towels were sparse and only 4 chairs in the pool area. I understand distancing, but that was a little extreme. No local literature in the room for night-life, restaurants or delivery. And finally, the TV offerings were sparse to lousy. I've stayed at no-nonsense business hotels with better amenities, and for a lot less money.
We booked the standard room with the ski and stay package. Upon arrival (2hours before check-in) we got our lift tickets and parked near our assigned room. About to hit the slopes, a housekeeping woman noticed my dad was having a difficult time. She told us to hang around for a few minutes to see if she could get us into a handicap room. Turns out, the hotel manager was going to surprise us with that when the room was clean and ready to check in to and it was slope-side! Each room has a lockable ski locker outside. The outdoor pool and hot tub is great. Every staff member wants to make sure guests are completely satisfied. Well done Holiday Valley, we will be back!
We stayed at the HV Inn for our first time visit to celebrate NYE. Overall it was a great 1st trip. Fireworks on New Year’s Eve were amazing! Pros: - ski in/ ski out access was great for me ( see additional comments in cons below) - Room was clean and equipped well ( ski locker, hooks, bench at entrance) - At one point hot tub stopped working and maintenance was on it instantly - shuttle to lodge was easily accessible ( or walking distance was ok too) Cons: - While the ski in/ ski out access is great for intermediate/ advance skiers - you have to be careful of any beginners in your group. My daughter is a beginner and there was no green slope that gets you to the main lodge area or back to the Inn so we had to shuttle there and back and couldn’t use the lift right outside of the Inn when skiing with her. - Hot tub and pool could have used more heat. I’ve been to other resorts that have outdoor heated pools that were considerably warmer. We didn’t spend any time in the pool due to the temp. - Property could use a second hot tub - it’s was a waiting game each evening to get a seat. - Cost vs value. You know what you are getting into with cost at time of booking but rooms could be a little nicer, breakfast a little better, for the high price…
