Enjoyed our stay at the Inn during the month of August and found it to be very clean and accommodating, and has a pleasant setting. It's located approximately 10 minutes drive time for accessing the shops & restaurants downtown. They had a complimentary buffet breakfast which included protein, cereal, beverages, breads & fruit. We would go back again.

Just took my 7 year old nephew to this great place for a night. We will be back next time for longer. It was very reasonable and he loved the indoor out door pool, plus having access to the pool complex. The room was large, but rustic with some bugs definitely visiting. We both enjoyed the chairs on the patio behind the room, nice quiet out food space. Only negative is that the pool complex only opens at noon during the week.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with other travelers. We are so happy to hear you enjoyed your time with your nephew. Guest really enjoy the patio's and balconies on their rooms however with our proximity to the woods we always recommend keeping the screen doors shut. Next time you visit I hope you have the opportunity to take the chair lift up to Spruce Lake - it is so beautiful up there and the chairlift ride is so much fun especially for kids. Katie

I booked this back in January and confirmed two weeks prior to our arrival. I asked for a lift view room and was looking forward to a patio or balcony. When we arrived, the sliding doors to the patio were blocked with sand bags. Here we were in lovely July weather and trapped in the room! I was really disappointed. They could have said they were having issues when I confirmed my booking and let me know the patio would be unavailable - I probably would have canceled. They were sold out and we called around - but other places were booked so we had to make the best of that. With that disappointment out of the way, we made the best of it. The room was very clean and nicely decorated. The amenities were great. We enjoyed the pool and continental breakfast each day. The location is close to town and easy to get to other areas of interests. We stayed several nights but only had the room cleaned the first day. We enjoyed it.

We are glad you enjoyed your stay and apologize for the need for sandbags on your patio. This summer brought record breaking rain and with that repeat severe flooding which impacted many Western New York communities including Ellicottville. We are happy to report that we have taken corrective action and do not anticipate the need for the unsightly sandbags going forward. Please contact me directly so that I can ensure your next visit to the Inn at Holiday Valley exceeds your expectations. I can be reached toll free at 1-800-323-0020. Katie

I recently spent 2 nights at the Inn at Holiday Valley while in town for a wedding. The best word that I can think of to describe this property is "comfortable." It's certainly not fancy or ultra-modern, but it is well maintained and has a rustic charm. One thing you will notice immediately upon arrival is that the rooms have exterior entrances (like a motel). This has never bothered me, but I know some people prefer rooms with interior corridors and entrances. One negative about the exterior entrances at this particular property is that the doors aren't particular thick or well soundproofed. I could hear traffic on the street and car doors slamming in the parking lot even with the fan running. There is plenty of free parking near the rooms, and the second floor is accessed by stairs. The rooms are clean and fairly large. Our room had 2 Queen-sized beds which appeared to be rather new. Most importantly, they were extremely comfortable (as were the pillows). The bathroom is separate from the double sink, which is convenient when multiple people are trying to get ready. The bathroom area is very spacious, and there is an over-sized closet available as well. The water pressure is good and gets hot quickly. There is also ample lighting in the room. The TV in the room gets plenty of channels, and the reception is good. It isn't very big (it has to fit in the dresser), but it does the trick. The WiFi is free and works well. There is a long coat rack in the room which is convenient. The rooms also have balconies, which would have been a really nice bonus had the weather been nice. The Free Breakfast is average. It's certainly not bad, but I've also had much better in this price range. Pastries were limited to an assortment of muffins, which were a little dry. There were both juice and coffee options available along with bagels, English muffins, and your usual cold cereal options. There were 2 "hot options" each day...eggs & sausage patties one day and sausage patties & french toast the other. One recommendation would be to put the muffins and breads into some sort of storage container that prevents them from drying out/getting stale. 95% of hotels I stay at use this option, and it keeps things much fresher. I really can't imagine they are that expensive. Staff that I encountered were helpful enough, but I definitely wouldn't describe anyone as "super helpful" or "overly accommodating." On the other hand, they weren't rude either. I would describe my customer service experience as adequate. The pool and jacuzzi were a disappointment. When we tested out the water temperature, they weren't very warm. I think the fact that the pool water flows both inside and outside may prevent it from getting warm enough on cold days. It's also possible that they only turn the heat up at "peak times," as we checked out the pool in the late morning hours. I've spent a lot of time in a lot of hot tubs/jacuzzis, and the water in it definitely wasn't hot enough to enjoy. It's outside, and it needs to be quite hot when it's 30 degrees outside. I recommend bringing your own snacks and drinks, as the vending area provides limited options and is very expensive (a 20 oz bottle of soda is $3.50). Overall, I enjoyed my time at the Inn at Holiday Valley. I'm giving it 4 stars because the price is a little high for the accommodations provided. I've traveled across all 50 states, and while I liked this property, I've stayed at nicer properties with lower rates. Having said that, you could certainly do a lot worse. If you're headed to the area for a ski trip (or other event), you certainly will be comfortable here.

Went there at the end of March which is near the end of the ski season. We got one of the last standard rooms that had 2 queen beds. It was very clean and the staff were friendly. They offered breakfast every morning which was a real bonus. Eggs, sausages, French toast, fruit, oatmeal..etc. They rotated it each day. There is a lift right there if you want to hit the slopes fast. Nice indoor/outdoor pool. You can swim from indoors to outdoors. Decent size hot tub but could probably use another. It got quite full in the evenings. Definitely will be back!👍 We got a great rate on the room as well by using AAA discount.
