Stayed for two weekend nights in September 2016. Just a lovely experience all around. The breakfasts were absolutely incredible--two of the best breakfasts I've ever had--and the hosts were exceptionally accommodating, helpful, and kind. Highly recommended.

If you are looking for a quiet getaway in the Adirondack Mountains, but don't want to deal with the hustle and bustle of Lake Placid, this beautifully restored Victorian home built in the 1850s in Elizabethtown, NY., is a great choice. Located about 30 minutes east of Lake Placid and about 30 minutes west of Lake Champlain and Vermont (an...

Dear Reviewers, We are humbled by all your compliments, and very much appreciate your constructive suggestions for improvement. "If you're standing still, you're going backwards." Our calendar this year is limited; a daughter's summer wedding and serious family illness have us reigning in the B&B quite a bit for the moment. In fact we'd thought about closing entirely but, well,...

This is a lovely, old house-beautifully restored and with lovely period furnishings/antiques. Our hostess was warm and welcoming and made us feel very much at home. The breakfasts were amazing and delicious. Kristen is a very accomplished cook and produced a large variety of home made goodies each morning. We had a large, bright room with equally spacious bathroom all...

Stayed here for four days,, essentially to allow our granddaughter High Peaks hiking opportunities. A beautifully restored Victorian house with two large second-floor bedrooms plus a smaller one which our granddaughter occupied. We shared a bathroom with her, which was also very large an airy. Kristen used to deal antiques, so the parlours and other rooms are full of Victorian...

Kristen and Jim are great hosts. They have a beautiful B&B. Exactly what you want on a cool New England night. The decor is warm and inviting and the breakfast is simply the best. I will recommend this B&B to friends and family. Perfect place to stay after a hike in the Adirondacks.

My husband and I stayed at the Woodrfuff House while in town for our Son's wedding in Lake Placid. Due to the Ironman Triathalon in lake Placid we were not able to get accomodations there. Well, so glad we didn't! We had a wonderful stay and Jim and Kristen made us feel like we were right at home with wonderful...

We recently stayed two nights at the Woodruff House in Elizabethtown N. Y. The house is tastefully decorated with lots of antiques. Our room was very nice and had a private bath. The breakfasts were great, with freshly baked goods, melon with prosciutto, eggs Benedict, muffins, omelets, etc. Not your usual B & B fare. Delicious! All that plus a couple of...

My family and I stayed at the inn as a base for skiing and winter hiking in the Adirondacks in February. Don't give a second thought to the effects of hurricane Irene on the region, or the fact that Elizabethtown is a few minutes further afield than Keene or Lake Placid for some: this is a great inn and well...

We had a wonderful weekend stay at The Woodruff House. Our hosts were wonderful. Even though we arrived very late at night, Jim greeted us at the door. We felt very comfortable and thoroughly enjoyed the fabulous breakfast. Our only suggestion is that locks be installed in every bedroom.
