Visited during the week. Had rwo courses and then left to have coffee elsewhere. Not a good experience and won't be back. Poached salmon starter did not look appetising or fresh but did taste OK. Main course was fish, frozen tasteless veg and a baked potato with the skins so dried up and hard it would not cut. scooped what... More

My boyfriend booked this hotel after finding a voucher for dinner, bed and breakfast and bottle of Prosecco on 5pm. Arrived about 2.30pm and checked in, the girl was very helpful and showed us to our room. The hotel has a cosy feel to it however it is very dated and could be doing with a refurbishment. Put our stuff... More

Booked this hotel using a voucher purchased online for a one night stay including breakfast, dinner and a bottle of wine. Although a bit dated the hotel is brilliant getaway. Wi-Fi in rooms is a bit intermittent. Public areas are spacious with a very comfortable bar area. Restaurant very good and the food was outstanding. A very comprehensive menu catering... More

A lovely location. Hotel looks great from the outside but areas are a little run down inside. Helpful staff on arrival who were happy to amend our booking to include our dog. Kids play-area could do with updating. Enjoyed a pint in reception area as dog wasn't allowed anywhere in else in hotel, except for our bedroom and she wasn't... More

I stayed 1 night and checkout was even more strange with manager coming out of toilet with newspaper tucked under his arm which... More

Hotel a bit tired but still comfotable. Food fairly good. Staff were friendly although scarce but The owner is a very loud man and not that attentive to customers. The rooms are large and comfortable.

Avoid !! High tea for a family get together . Food and service well below average. Cake selection open with no refrigeration for hours and the cream had turned . Was like school dinners . Poor quality ingredients . Staff sloppy and untrained . Not worth the money !

Positives are the pleasant staff, the lovely view, great outdoor children's play area and menu selection. Good sirloin. Negatives are there is no 'minus price' menu available. The use of frozen produce eg vegetables & chips which I find lazy and unacceptable in any quality restaurant considering the availability of fresh produce & prices charged.
