Just got back from a couple of nights at the Mill House Inn. My first time back in about 15 years. It was a very enjoyable experience from the first moment. The room was exactly as pictured - only negative was I wish it was a real fireplace. We were warmly greeted by Dawn who was more than helpful. The room was spotless and quiet. It wouldn't be a B&B without the breakfast, and each day they were fantastic. I would go back just to have another bite of the sausage breakfast sandwich - I know, sounds like whatever, but it was maybe the best I've ever had. They are generous and had no problems with anything we wanted. The location is great and everything in EH is within walking distance. If I am ever looking to stay in this area again, I will only choose the MHI.
My friends and I stayed at the Mill House several weeks back in September. Very unhappy with our stay. We were basically on our own the entire weekend. Covid restrictions with "contactless measures" were taken to a level of basically no service. The place is tired looking and in need of some TLC. The air conditioner wasn't working in one room, no coffee was available upon waking up and staff were non existent during the weekend. I spoke to the manager when leaving and was told he would speak to the owner and would be hearing from her. I also emailed the owner and explained my grievances. That was almost a month ago. NO RESPONSE.
We recently stayed at the mill house for a little “girls trip” with my sisters and mother. Kenny & Dawn were absolutely warm, welcoming and accommodating to all of our needs and requests. We were In the mood to toast with champagne and immediately the Inn contacted a local liquor store and had it delivered ASAP. Breakfast was fantastic and their beds are sooooo comfortable! Will be returning!
I’ve done almost 3000 trip advisor reviews and I don’t give a 5 Star unless the establishment has a edge it is really worth the rating. This is even better and here is why: 1) Staff - couldn’t be nicer. Totally focused on the customer. Nothing is a problem. Top marks. 2) Rooms & location- Walking distance to the town, loads of parking and the rooms are amazing. Spacious and well appointed. Toasty and the gas fire super. Beds comfortable. Dressing gowns high quality. Toiletries are high quality. Great gardens. Top marks. 3) Food - breakfast, the juices, food and snacks all wonderful. Top marks. 4) Ambiance and feel - relaxed, enjoyable and quietly pampered. Top marks. 5) Price - well worth every penny. It’s the Hamptons! 6) Other reviews - Yes there is a train track close to the rear of the property. Depends on your attitude....we enjoyed it and there are not that many so it was fun. I can see why others may have an issue with it however so request the Main house. …
Train renovation noise kept us up all night long and hotel is well aware of this and still rented out the room. When I told the manager the next morning he called me an ass and told me to leave the property.
