The room was charming even though it was a bit rough around the edges. I was taken aback by the musty smell upon first entering and how warm the room was. It took a while to cool. The grounds themselves were lovely but the neighboring properties reminded you that you were on the main road and in a former motel. Did not feel much like an escape and not worth the high price tag. I would have been better off staying at the East Hampton Resort, another converted motel with bigger grounds and a more reasonable price tag.
This was my first trip to the Hamptons and Journey was the perfect place to stay. The property is great with a wonderful pool and pool house and beautiful garden areas to hangout in. I appreciated the abundance of free bottled water, fruit and snacks available in the lobby and the free muffins, oatmeal and fruit for breakfast (plus coffee and tea). We had a room with two queen beds and it was perfect for a getaway with friends. It had two closets and the two beds had a partial wall separating them for privacy. The rooms were clean and well decorated and pretty spacious. The bathrooms are very big and I loved the Molton Brown toiletries. The location was great -- about a 30 minute walk to the main street in East Hampton, a 15 minute walk to downtown Amagansett and a 20 minute walk to the beach. And the service was great! Will definitely stay here on my next visit!…
Really loved this charming and comfortable hotel. While located on the main road, it was quiet and the property offered lovely outdoor areas, including a pool and fire pit, that were well secluded from the road. Hotel amenities included a “grab and go” breakfast, which was more than adequate for us…Bob’s Red Mill oatmeal, yogurt, granola, fresh baked muffins, fruit, coffee, tea, juice. Rooms have a mini frig and there are very nice bicycles to borrow. They also offer a parking pass to use for beach parking. The room was very clean and quite comfortable. If we return to the area in the future, would definitely stay here again.
Fabulous location and personable staff. Erika was so nice and welcoming. The property was beautiful and well maintained. Beautiful pool, clubhouse and rooms. Plenty of beach towels snd pool towels. The price was better during the week than on the week end. We will be back.
It's an excellent place to stay, clean, friendly and accommodating staff. The breakfast "grab and go" was delicious. They had an outdoor fire pit going at night, and the pool area was clean and very nice. We enjoyed our stay there.
It's a motel style that's nicely converted, so no issues with cleanliness or design. The issues we had were: 1) The attitude of the front desk agent when we first arrived and again the next morning. 2) Complete lack of any toiletries in the room (maybe an oversight my housekeeping, but not even a bar of soap in the room). 3) Water temperature in the shower was warm at best. 4) Our biggest compliant was the noise. If you are staying on the first floor, you will hear EVERY move of the room above you. Our upstairs neighbor got up at 5am just to use the restroom and went back to bed, but the noise from that alone was loud enough to wake us up. I should have known to manage my expectations on what we would get for $500/night in the Hamptons on Labor Day. If I could change it, I would have spent double and stayed at Topping Rose instead.…
Small, clean, updated motel in convenient East Hampton location. Nice pool and outdoor seating area. No food service. Very small and limited bar. Extremely overpriced in the second weekend of Sept 2022.
If I were to do this trip again, I would've rented a car and stayed an extra day. I felt safe at this location and the staff were friendly and helpful! I do wish that the breakfast had a warm option of eggs, waffles and quiche. I appreciated the snacks and water that was available throughout the day and complimentary. Oh! They also have a mini library by the window where you can take and have a book. The place was clean, simple and looks just like the pictures.
Really enjoyable and relaxing. My family and I had a nice time. Hotel was clean and service was great. Staff was very friendly. Would recommend this hotel to family and friends. Very nice. The sofa bed was a little uncomfortable but served its purpose. location is great!!!!!!!!!!!
Erika and her team do a fantastic job of bringing a more personal touch to the service than you get at a major hotel. Very clean, high quality and lovely atmosphere. It's the little touches that make the difference...
