We had high hopes for our weekend at the Hedges Inn after reading wonderful reviews but ended up very disappointed. While the inn is lovely and the location is great, the service was sub par. We arrived at the check in time of 3 pm, allowing ourselves time we needed to rest a bit after traveling, and to shower and dress for an event at 5 pm. Our room was not ready and while we understand the challenge of being short staffed, it was not ready until 4:30 pm! In addition, at check in we told the receptionist that we would be departing at 5:30 am on Sunday and asked if we could have a “to go” breakfast packed. She assured us that she would contact the manager and thought that was doable but we never heard another word about it. We did have breakfast “in house” on Saturday morning and again short staffing was clearly a problem. We arrived at the start time of 8:30 am and very little of the buffet was set up. We appreciate that the person on duty was doing his best but honestly at the rates for a stay at the Hedges the short staffing issues were unacceptable to us.

I stayed for a week last month and had a wonderful stay. The grounds and house are beautiful, location was perfect for me as I love the walk to Main Beach along Ocean Avenue and this is the closest B & B to Main Beach (about a mile walk which I do not mind as its one of the most beautiful walks to a beach in the U.S. ) Jenny and her staff are friendly, attentive and made my stay like a home away from home. I felt like one of the family! The house is well appointed with spacious living rooms, studies for relaxing, working or enjoying a glass of wine after the beach and an honor system bar which I appreciate (they are counting on the trustworthiness of their guests). What hotel would ever allow you to serve yourself at the bar and without some form of payment? The room was plenty for me and the decor was lovely with a beach theme. Entire property is immaculate, spotless clean. Breakfast everyday was exellent and Jenny makes sure there is something for everyone. Yogurt, fresh fruit, wonderful berries, smoked salmon, bagels, pastry and a choice of one of Jenny's delicious entrees. The casserole of eggs caprisse was delicious. Overall, a great stay and sad to leave. Will be back very soon. I love East Hampton and have been coming out for 20+ years. All my best to Jenny and staff and Love to EH!

Love everything about The Hedges. Jenny and her staff are amazing. The Inn itself is spotless. The grounds are beautiful. Felt so comfortable being there-- just like home-- except with lots of pampering. Can't wait to go back next month!

There aren't enough words to describe how wonderful our first stay was at the Hedges Inn. Every aspect of this place - the food, the host (Jenny is so wonderful, helpful and accommodating!), the room, the overall hospitality and vibe, and just right down to each and every detail in/around the Inn - far exceeded my expectations in a comfortable, yet elevated way. Our stay was so pleasant. I would wholeheartedly recommend someone to stay at the Hedges Inn, and we are definitely looking for reasons to return and stay longer!

The Hedges Inn is absolutely lovely. We stayed for a long weekend in September. No crowds, the beach to ourselves and a great experience at the Hedges. Jenny and company do a fabulous job. Everything was spotless and they have anticipated all your needs i.e. beach towels, beach chairs, bikes etc. We had a small kitchenette in our very comfortable room with a private bath. Delicious continental breakfast. The grounds are so well maintained. Overall, a top-notch experience!

We stayed here three nights over a fall weekend and were very pleased. The Inn was full two nights and everything with the C-virus was handled well. We especially noticed both the very good water pressure and the plentiful hot water. Wifi and TV were both good and we liked that the #1 FOX News Channel was included. Of special note were the delicious hot breakfast specials served each day, truly "gourmet". The entire staff was helpful and friendly. Highly recommend.

This was our first hotel stay/ weekend escape from the city since Covid began and it was absolutely wonderful. Jenny was a fabulous host and was super helpful with recommendations in the East Hampton area. The breakfast was still really yummy even with the covid restrictions and everything was super clean/ individualized so there was no concern about sharing germs. We felt that the rooms and common areas were really clean and had no concerns from a health perspective. If the Hedges Inn was this good of an experience during a pandemic, we will definitely be be back!

Hedges Inn is beautifully decorated, has gorgeous landscaping and is very clean and polished. The breakfast was very good and they can accommodate almost every request. Also the location is very convenient. We were a little disappointed that the owner and staff didn’t have more charm. After staying for two days and not meeting Jenny, I had to find her in the kitchen and she was not overly warm when I complimented her on the inn. The staff, while very polite, were not overly chatty or personable. Overall it is a nice place to stay, but not the typical B&B experience.

Talk about charming ! This is it ! So many wonderful places to sit and enjoy coffee, wine and just take in the beautiful scenery. Just a few minutes from the white sandy beach....grab a coffee from the dinning room and walk or drive to the beach. The inn keeper Jenny and all her stuff were on it at all times . The breakfast was to die for with something different every morning. They even went out of their way to wash my outfit that I spilled a cup of coffee on ...laundered and in my room by noon ! Highly recommend a stay here for a romantic charming get away! Thank you Jenny and staff !
