My first impression of the Baker House 1650 reminded me of a majestic property in Europe. The layout allowed for privacy and exclusivity while remaining unpretentious. An easy home away from home experience. Thank you Baker House!
We are a large Italian family and required a lot of rooms and space so the Carriage House at The Baker House exceeded our needs. From the beautiful grounds, salt water private pool to staff that were 2nd to none-it was an amazing experience. Is ideally located within walking distance to the East Hampton village. Best part though was Anne, the Innkeeper. She was so charming, accommodating, had a great personality and makes the best breakfast! She’s the reason we will surely return.
My husband and I stayed here for his 50th birthday on November 11th. It is a charming B&B with good service and an excellent breakfast. I had "toads in a hole", which was eggs in fresh sourdough bread with cheddar cheese melted on top and a side of avocado. My husband got the croissant french toast stuffed with ligonberry and poppy cream cheese. We also got bacon and fresh fruit on the side. The spa is very nice. The steam room is sooo hot and the pool is hot enough and relaxing. I was disappointed by the dry sauna. I really wanted it to be hotter. No matter how hard we tried, we couldn't make it very hot. You can rent the spa for $75/hour and it's just you and your honey. Also, there's the most gentle dog named Bogie (blond labrador?) who very gently greets guests. I enjoyed myself at this spa and would come back just for the breakfast!…
We came to stay with two other couples and it was the perfect getaway! Baker House is beautiful right now in the fall and the staff were so kind. The chef made my needy friends a full non-dairy and vegan menu just for them which was killer!! Defff coming back, maybe for a quiet couples weekend, looking forward to using the spa!
We came for a long weekend and ended up extending for a week and a half vacation. My wife and I haven't found a place like this except in Europe. We cannot say enough about the staff, the charm, how luxurious and how courteous everyone is. We had some of the best food on this vacation including a pear, goat cheese and shallot omelet from the hotel's chef - it was one-of-a-kind. We booked two weeks next year and can't wait to go back. Thank you Baker House.
My husband and I needed a place to stay for one night in order to attend a birthday party in East Hampton. We are familiar with the Hamptons and know how expensive hotels and inns are due to limited inventory, and that it often costs a lot of money for a very small room. However, I was not expecting the hovel that was room #2. There are NO pictures on the website of room #2. It looks nothing like the rooms that are advertised. No charm, no space. It was truly a dump. I could barely walk around the bed. But the owner had the nerve to charge $875/night for that room and we were provided no warning that the room was inferior to those advertised on the website. When we complained and said that we would prefer to just leave and stay somewhere else, the owner refused to refund our money. He then went on to insult my husband - telling him we had no style and would be better off in a motel 6. To be honest, we would have! THE BAKER HOUSE IS ENGAGING IN FRAUD. Advertising one thing and providing something completely different and inferior is fraud. The owner's refusal to refund us our money was criminal. We ended up just driving back to the city that night and sleeping at home. Do not support this establishment!!! Stay at Topping Rose.…
The grounds of this hotel are quite beautiful. Nature and the diligent work of very polite and clearly talented landscapers are responsible for this. However, the service provided at this hotel was less than adequate for any discerning traveler. The staff are absolutely untrained on any attention to details in providing service to guests. This is a very expensive hotel (2k/night), do not expect much for the over top cost you will incur.
The Baker House is fantastic! It is in a perfect location in East Hampton. This was my third time there and my visit was perfect! The rooms are wonderful and the rest of the main house and carriage house are beautiful. The pools and grounds are gorgeous. They are very relaxing in the warm weather. Breakfast is delicious and the servers are friendly and accomodating. Housekeeping is terrific as well. The staff at the front desk is warm and welcoming. Looking forward to another visit!
We spent the weekend at the Baker House where we had spent our wedding night 25 years ago. The property is absolutely charming with a real period feeling in the public areas. Our room (#15) was comfortable and well maintained though the bathroom could do with a modernization/update. The staff were great and the breakfast (included) was tasty and well prepared. The hotel has an honor bar for drinks which helps with the feeling of staying at a friends house. Even without the nostalgic element for us I would highly recommend it.
The Baker House is a fabulous bed and breakfast. It is in a perfect location in East Hampton. This was my second time there and my visit was once again great! The rooms are wonderful and the rest of the house and carriage house are beautiful. The fireplaces add a nice warm cozy feeling for the winter days. Breakfast is delicious and the servers are friendly and accomodating. Housekeeping is terrific as well. The staff at the front desk is warm welcoming. All the proper Covid-19 protocols are in place and I felt completely comfortable staying there. Looking forward to another visit!
