Standard king room very small and basic. No mirror in the bathroom. How are men supposed to shave and women apply makeup? No plastic cups to rinse with. Except for the bed, no other place to sit. For the price of the room, I expected more comforts.

Fire Island Beach House is the perfect spot for a fun, relaxing get away! The renovations give you a spa/resort like stay. Family friendly, fun spot for couples, or a relaxing vacation - this is the place for it all! The pool is spacious with plenty of lounge chairs, cottages available to rent for more space and privacy. Right next to the beach, short walk to local bars/restaurants. The manager Peter Reyes Garcia and his staff were outstanding! They met our every need and made our stay perfect, even in difficult times due to COVID-19. Since he’s taken over management this establishment has been the best in years, positive changes all around! Book here for your next Fire Island getaway and ask for Peter!!

This is definitely a family spot and I would absolutely not recommend for a couple looking for a quiet/relaxing hotel experience. Pros: Beach adjacent location. The beach is lovely, and super easy to find a nice open spot. Restaurant is fine. I understand the hotel recently went though a renovation which looks chic... at a very surface level glance. Cons: Loud. Tiny room. Kids running around everywhere and I mean everywhere. Screaming and playing soccer and jumping all over lawnchairs and spilling Capri Sun 5 feet from our room. Perhaps they should have put family suites on the ground floor and smaller rooms on the upper floor. Bikes never seemed to be available (they have 4 in total which doesn't seem like enough for such a biking friendly destination). The biggest con for me however was housekeeping. The shower was dirty upon check-in (leftover hair on walls/floor and some ooky stuff around the drain which didn't drain well at all) which made me wonder what kind of COVID protocols are being followed or not. Pillowcases didn't entirely fit some of the pillows (which again doesn't seem safe for COVID times). All in all, the loudness/kids factor is just personal taste and may be a pro for some people so take that how you will. However at 400/night I'd expect a bigger (or at least normal) sized hotel room and pristine bathroom and maybe even a bottle of water waiting in the room. I think there is room for improvement and I'll chalk this up to a hasty reopening affected by COVID, for example some of the landscaping/outdoor areas seemed unfinished. I hope they take feedback to heart and make it better for next summer (or at least adjust price), but we won't be back- it's just not my cup of tea at all.

We told them we had to check out after one day because we did not feel safe there because of the lack of Covid-19 protocols. The listing was misleading (the photo did not match the room we booked), the kitchen was dirty, the staff was not wearing masks. They were completely unreasonable and refused to refund the entire week of payment.

I just returned from a two-night stay at the Fire Island Beach House and had a great time. It was clear that the property was recently renovated, with a nice-sized pool, and just a minute walk from the beach. Plenty of seating was available, including picnic tables and Adirondack chairs. Staff at the front desk and restaurant/bar were very friendly. My only issue was that for $350/night, the standard king room was sparsely furnished. Other than the bed, there was no real place to sit. A built-in bench was located under the window, but it would need pillows or cushions to be comfortable. I think it would be pretty easy to include a small chair. I'd also suggest adding black-out curtains, since others can see into the room when walking by, especially at night. I'd further suggest an in-room safe and mini fridge to keep drinks cold. The remodeled bathroom was small, but well-appointed. I appreciated that the room was very clean upon arrival. Due to COVID-19, there was no further housekeeping service, but you could request fresh towels as needed. A laminated sheet outlining their COVID regulations was available in the room. Staff members always wore face coverings, and most guests did the same. The Beach House is certainly one of the nicer places to stay on Fire Island, and I would definitely return.
