We live in NYC and my 7-year-old has been dreaming of experiencing farm life for what seems like forever (probably ever since the books and songs about farm animals as a baby), and this weekend away was a dream come true for her. We asked her what her favorite part was and she said “chores!”, which was pretty impressive to me :) Kids had the opportunity to help out with farm chores twice a day, including milking cows, which was a highlight for me. They also had a hayride and campfire with s’mores and live music, and there is a pond where you can fish in. The house we stayed in was very big and charming, with beautiful views of the mountain and cows. The farm has lots of opportunities to relax, a hammock, a zillion cute kitties to play with, rabbits to feed - it was great! Everyone at the farm was so welcoming and nice - the visit was fun and educational, and they were great with kids! Highly recommend if you’re looking for a taste of farm life.

My wife and I took our two toddler sons (22 months & 19 months) to the farm and had the best time ever! We stayed in a cottage on the farm and delighted in waking up to cows mooing and seeing the deer skip and hop all around us! It was a stimulating and proactive learning experience for our sons who are learning to talk and identify farm animals. One of our sons has special needs and this experience got him talking more! This experience is great for children who are autistic or on the spectrum! You’ll see your child blossom! My wife and I enjoyed whipping up pancakes and savory sausages in the kitchen (courtesy of the farm), which was well kept and had the most updated appliances. We were even pleased with the selection of toys and books available for our sons. The cottage was baby-proof. We were able to get two pack and plays for our boys to sleep. SHERRY was an amazing host! She was easily accessible and tended to our needs as a family. Farmer GEORGE was wonderful! He made sure we had a good time feeding the animals in the mornings! My wife and I milked a cow for the first time under his guidance. Farmer GEORGE also had great suggestions for fun activities outside the farm like a petting zoo and ice cream! They even had a bonfire for all the guests on the first night. We roasted s’mores and chatted around the fire with other families over acoustic music! My family had the most enjoyable experience at Hull-O Farms!!! We will definitely be back in the fall!

Our family had a nice time on the farm. The Gifford house fit our family of 6 perfectly. It was very clean and charming. We enjoyed the hayride and campfire with s’mores. All of the staff were great with the kids. The breakfast basket was a huge hit with the kids. Great pancakes and snacks for everyone. We bought some bacon and steaks and they were DELICIOUS! Worth a visit.

My husband and I were so glad we took the weekend at Hull-O farms with our son. Getaways with children are always high-risk, but we're very glad we took the plunge. It was a lovely, sunny, FUN weekend. My husband and I are both so picky, and we had nothing to complain about - the cottage was darling, comfortable, super clean facilities, and fully set with all amenities. Tons of animals, engaged owners and farm workers, live music and s'mores in the evenings, and a wonderful team. Our 3 year old loved it. Baby goats, cows, pigs, chicks, reindeer, kittens, calves, go and enjoy your best life :)

We just got back from a picturesque animal farm-stay at Hull-O Farms in the Catskills region. It was our first ever farm stay, and our kids had the best time. Twice a day, they did chores feeding and tending baby goats, lambs, calves, piglets and bunnies, they milked the cows, gathered eggs by going into the chicken coops, fed the moose and the deer, the geese and turkeys and played with the many cats. They got their hands dirty, smelled of cows, got nice and sweaty in the sun running around carrying grass and water everywhere but they had big smiles on. After their chores were done, they would laze on the tire swings and hammocks and enjoy the lush green lawns on our quaint, almost 100 year-old cottage which was so sweetly decorated and had all the basic amenities provided for. My 8 year old actually told me how improved her mood was when driving back to the city, and wanted to go back soon to see how the many baby animals she tended to have grown. My 3 year old was obsessed with the farm cats, (they had multiple litters) and they would hover around for free milk and meat. It's an authentic working farm experience, with a 230-year old history. Farmer Frank and his wife Sherry and son Jared work so hard. The family have been keeping the only farm alive in this region by offering multiple programs, such as this farm-stay guest program. They also do a hay ride on their 51 year old tractor and campfire with music in the evenings. Be prepared - its a real working farm, which means it can get stinky and very dusty when you're around the farm animals, but this is exactly what city dwellers like us wanted. We made sure to keep their hands sanitized, showers and saline spray to keep their nasal passages clear, and put some insect-repellent on to avoid ticks - we didn't see any though. The kids got certificates when checking out which was such a nice touch! We are so glad our kids got to experience and also understand what farm life is like. They also have a meat-shed to purchase their grass-fed beef, chicken etc, eggs and fresh local maple syrup and their own pond for fishing. The cottage views are just so good! We did some quiet and relaxing walks too. We also did horse riding at the Bailiwick Ranch nearby, visited their zoo, and the restaurants in Wyndham ( Mill Rock was great!!). We will return for sure.

My husband, 3 kids ( ages 10, 9, 6) and I had the absolute best time on the farm! This trip has been on my bucket list for a long time, even before the pandemic. We decided to finally go for my boys' birthday's. It worked out to be the perfect vacation and far exceeded our expectations! There were so many fun "chores" to do that really got the kids involved while I took plenty of pics/video. From milking the cows, feeding the kittens, bunnies, cows, pigs, goats, deer etc, to going fishing for hours and catching so many fish! We all learned SO much from Farmer Frank, Farmer Jared and Farmer Victor! Frank's wife Sherry arranged for a singer/guitarist to come to our backyard for a campfire to roast smores and sing Happy Birthday to my boys and take any and all song requests. It was like our own personal concert! Farmer Frank took us on a hayride that was a blast! I cannot say enough great things about this fantastic experience for our whole family! I've told my friends to hurry up and book this vacation now for their families. As soon as we got home, my kids have been asking to go back. We definitely plan on it!!!

We loved every minute of our 3 days stay at the Hull-O-Farms. We have 2 girls, 8 and 10 years old and neither one wanted to leave the farm when it was time to come home! From the moment we arrived, Sherry welcomed us with the biggest and warmest smile and explained to us everything that was planned for our weekend. We stayed at the Gifford House, which was so cozy, spacious and super clean! We had a welcome basket filled with goodies waiting for us which my girls really much enjoyed! The chores every morning were so much fun! Jared was our farm host, what an amazing person! He spent so much time with us and made sure that my kids got the full experience with every single animal in the farm. My girls couldn't wait each morning and afternoon to start with the farm chores. We also had a bonfire and s'mores while Ron, the musician was playing songs requested from my girls. Farmer Frank gave us a tour and hay ride around the farm and he took his time to teach us about the family and the farm. They also have natural products for you to bring home, all organics and so fresh and delicious. We brought home meat, eggs and tomatoes and peppers from their garden. Also, very important is Sherry's secret pancake mix which is included in the welcome basket! We had the best pancakes ever!!! We bought some pancake mix along with syrup to bring home as gifts for family and friends. We felt like family there and we are looking forward to return to the farm either in the winter or next summer.

We just returned from our first family farm vacation over Labor Day weekend. I found Hull-O farms when I did a google search for a farm vacation and boy am I glad we picked it! Before the vacation my two sons complained saying it was going to smell bad and be boring but what do you know, after the long weekend they said they had a blast and would love to come back!! We stayed in the little Rose Cottage and it was perfect for a family of 4! The boys (age 7 and 9) would say their favorite part were all the cats and petting them and wishing they could take one home :-) All the animals were great (cows, chicks, bunnies, pigs and piglets) and feeding them was so much fun especially the deer and they loved the tire swings! They provided a breakfast basket, fresh eggs and some sausage which were all wonderful, thank you!! It was an amazing weekend and to see the smiles on our kids faces was the best!

We loved every minute of our long weekend at the Rose Cottage on the Hull-O farm. Jarod was the perfect chore host, our two boys were obsessed with everything he showed us, and he was such a nice, funny dude, a complete pleasure to be around. We enjoyed chores so much we didn’t miss any of the sessions the entire weekend. I especially like that he didn’t mind me quizzing him on farm things I didn’t know, which was everything, and it was so nice for him to join us for s’mores and bonfire which was probably one of the nicest evenings I’ve had in a long time. Musician / master s’mores maker Ron was so likeable and talented. Farmer Frank was also such a social host, I learned probably twenty things in the five minutes chatting with him while I bought as much of their completely natural meat products as I could fit in our freezer. And Sherry, what a beautiful ray of sunshine!! We took home eggs our toddler picked earlier that day. Also very importantly, I made the best bone broth I’ve ever made tonight, our place smells a-mazing.
