Located in the quiet foothills of upstate New York, this motel offers a quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city life. Bring your mountain bikes and be prepared for the challenge, launch a kayak in the Delaware River just minutes away, or simply rent a canoe right there at the hotel and travel the small brook beneath the covered bridge. Price versus value you won't find a more affordable retreat for a weekend getaway.

Super Super Clean
Rooms are huge, also has an EIN kitchen with refridge amd microwave
Great location for hunting and fishing and outdoor activities
The owner of this Motel also owns Al's bait and tackle shop across the road.
You can also spend time on their property which has a beautiful river that runs through it which comes off a huge reservoir that is stocked with fish check out the pics at Al's B&T shop.
Check out their website for more info http://downsvillemotel.com/ this is a very informative site and not only can you check out motel(resort) it gives you information on surrounding areas

We are from Long Island, NY and hold everything to a high standard this motel(resort) met and exceded our expectations. Will stay again for our 4th time. Will recommend. Great for couples and families.

Very clean and comfortable. Room I had, had kitchen and balcony overlooking the Delaware River. Quite pretty. Rates are very reasonable. Gravel parking lot. Cannot walk to restaurants. There are a few choices in town for meals, about a 3 minute drive down the road. Very Very friendly and helpful staff.
It is a great, rustic motel in a very pretty setting.
The only negative is, the walls and ceiling are thin so until everyone around you settles in for the night, you hear and feel their every move.

We stayed here one night as we were passing thru NY. It's an older motel but the rooms are large and clean. Read all the signs. NO CLEANING YOUR FISH IN THE BATHROOM!!! Check in and out was across the street at the bait shop. If you are a fisherman or hunter definitely a good location

Downsville is a small village in the middle of lush green forests, approximately 2.5 hours outside of New York City. This motel is a beautiful property on the banks of the east branch of the Delaware River. The location on the river is beautiful, and each room has a private balcony with a water view. There aren't many streets in town, so the hotel happens to be located just off a two-lane highway, and the noise from passing cars can be unpleasant. Otherwise, the property is well kept and clean. Beds are warm and comfortable, and rooms are well apportioned.

Amenities left something to be desired – I really dislike shampoo in packets versus bottles. Also, linens were thin, skimpy, and cheap.

The location was great for a family getaway – the town is secluded and close to boating, hiking, hunting, and fishing.

This is a country inn – so don’t go expecting the luxury of a 4-star hotel. It’s a country inn, where function rules over form. Downsville is a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, and this motel is a great place to take your family to experience that.

I wanted to do some canoeing for the 4th of July. We usually go in the Poconos on the Delaware but I thought the catskills would be quieter and a nice change. I saw Al's canoe rental and a little motel attached. I rented one room and our friends rented a second room. As stated in other reviews, the room was very clean. The Housekeeper also serviced the room very timely and replenished towels, soaps, etc. The room is a basic motel room but did have wifi and a little balcony facing the river. It also had a refrigerator and microwave, which was nice. We didn't watch much TV but the TV's were flatscreen.
The motel was also quiet and in a quiet location. We ate at the diner nearby. We did a hike one day due to the rain and did the canoe trip the second day. We canoed 14 miles. The canoes were nice and they gave us good information.
We also want to some local fireworks in a nearby town, which were fun. I hope to be able to visit again. I would highly recommend this motel for people who want to canoe and hike in a pretty area but not camp. The prices were very reasonable. I hope to go again sometime soon.

Just got back from a long weekend stayed at this motel for 2 nights. Had the room with eat-in kitchenette. Room was spotless. View from private balcony of the lawn and river were great.
It has a fire pit and picnic tables by the river very soothing able to sit by fire in the evening and enjoy the quiet. Accepts dogs for a small nightly fee but well worth the price. Will be back in the fall for the foliage.

Had a very enjoyable stay at this quaint, small motel. Romms are up to date and CLEAN. Has a flat screen TV with cable. Also refigerator and cofe maker in room came in handy. Only down side is there are no phones in the rooms. And in this area, cell phone coverage is spotty. AT&T cell service is good at the motel, and there is a pay phone outside. All and all a good, economical motel. Would definately stay again.

Is there a gym at the hotel?
Answer from Jayne K

No gym. Great paved Country Road just outside the door though. Nice for walking. Canoes and kayaks to rental on site right on the river for more good exercise.

The only way is to call (607) 363-7575 Their website has pictures and rates only but not availability. The phone number for the hotel was all the way at the bottom of the page: alssportstore . com
