The Platános Kúria (MANSION- in Hungarian) is a small paradise -built 2 years ago. The style is like the small mansions in Hungary. Basically it is "around" horse-riding, -but it offer you much more. Great place to dine (even a superb chef comes from Budapest for major events -but for "regular days you still can expect a great food - partly from "local" ingredients". Altogether some 10 rooms (not to big..) all en-suite. A pool -for the summer days. A sauna -for the cold times. Special programs can be organized (even with live gipsy music..) for max 30 people. Booking in advance is required (this is not an "open" restaurant.

Our friends like it - so I went to see and chose a place for a coming event. Location is around 150 kilometer from Budapest - very close to a motorway junction. The building is nicely refurbished by an Architect in Szeged (seems to be the owner).. Excellent taste. The mansion has 9 rooms - so it can be recommended for friendly groups to stay 1 or 2 nights. Something special - special for riders!

Platanos is a real gem in the area. Boutique hotel with a touch of Hungarian traditional style. High standard enterior, good facilities, comfortable beds, excellent food and helpful staff. We enjoyed horseriding as well, although this was the first time we tried it. Horseriding is available for all levels. Be prepared that this is the countryside with its charm but you have to go to Szeged for a little buzz which is 20 mins trip from the place.
