Lake George Escape Campground is commended for its clean and well-maintained cabins and grounds, although some guests have noted certain areas could use more attention. The campground's lively atmosphere and range of amenities, including shuttles and entertainment, receive praise; however, some visitors were disappointed by the lack of weekday activities and ongoing construction. While the staff's friendliness is often highlighted, there are mixed reviews regarding service efficiency and maintenance concerns. Opinions on the cabins are divided, with compliments on their charm and air conditioning contrasted by some reports of odors and cleanliness issues.

It looks like this campground was bought by a corporation. The front office looks refreshed and there is a new electrical and TV cable. The sites need improvement with regrading, filling in holes and properly cleaning the site between campers. The roads need resurfacing. There is no staff on site after the office closes and no one to speak to with a problem. There is an emergency number in the front. WiFi is 5 dollars a day with discounts for long stays. This is nickel and dimming and should be included in there high rates.

Great Escape Campground offered a great place for the kids to roam around on their bikes, giving them access to all the amenities such as the Pool, Arcade, Playground, and Lodge. The Cabins were such a pleasant surprise, as they looked brand new and offered modern appliances and comfortable mattresses! Plenty of hot water for showers and close to all the amenities. The staff were more than accommodating. I’m sure we will go back next summer.

The park is nice and our site was fairly level, gravel, FHU and we had a strong Verizon cell signal for our hotspot to stream. Didn't use their wi-fi options. Our rig is a 28 ft Class C and we tow a little Ford Fiesta. The park has a large triple dog park but it's very hard to get to, especially walking your dog and the park map is not very accurate. This is a family-friendly park so don't expect a quiet, relaxing atmosphere. Laundry was fair but a bit messy, takes CCs or use the app (no coins). Showers were adequate but dirty, mostly due to the constant rain, which was the biggest negative during our stay. The mosquitoes were voracious. We would recommend this park highly but at a different time of the year.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Lake George Escape in June of this year. We visited the Lake George/Saratoga area because we were attending a concert. We had no other plans for other days we were in the area, so we wanted to stay somewhere that offered us things to do…like fishing and sitting by a campfire. In my search for campgrounds, I came across Lake George Escape and figured we’d give it a try.

We decided to book a cabin and boy were we THRILLED with that decision. When we visited, it was a heat wave so I was a little concerned. However, the cabins were not only adorable, fully stocked, clean, and comfortable… But also had two AC units that worked incredible. I’m someone who needs to be cold/ does not enjoy the heat, and trust me this passed my test.

The cabin was affordable and honestly really impressive. It was fully stocked with towels, paper towels, all the kitchen utensils you could need, Clean linens, etc. We would’ve paid triple to stay at a hotel, and this cabin experience felt just as nice.

My boyfriend and I do not have kids however, if we did, this would’ve been an amazing spot as the grounds are extremely family-friendly. The staff was amazing, and was able to help me with any questions I had.

I would 1000% visit Lake George Escape again! Try it out you won’t be disappointed!

All the cabins needs maintenance they don’t do none of that, most of the cabins AC doesn’t works so if you are going in summer and inside cabin temperature reaches over 100 degrees it doesn’t bother them, bring your own fan after paying for premium cabin price as they won’t help you. Bathroom Locks doesn’t work blinds are broken staff just gives you sympathy and won’t make any firm action plan to resolve the issue. After office is close everyone who is staying there they on their own as no one answers the calls even security is nowhere to be found, they posted an emergency number which you can call as many time you like no one answers or calls back or reply of the Text messages. Very unsafe place to be with kids.

Overall, a nice campground with plenty for kids to do. We stayed when it was advertised as a Renaissance themed weekend. Nothing about the weekend other than a couple of bears dressed like a princess and knight in the front office said Renaissance. Campground is right on the Schroon River which is nice for tubing and fishing. They do charge $10 per person to tube. They have a bus that takes you up the road to drop you off and you float back to campground. River is easily accessible for paddle boarding and kayaking. Playground is well maintained and current. They do offer daily activities even during the week which was nice. Candy bar bingo was a big hit with my kids. They also had water activities, wagon rides, and dodgeball. A gaga ball ring would be a nice addition. Sites on the Schroon River can be small so verify site size before booking. River is also not accessible from these sites. There are signs stating this on each site. So, no need to stay on the river if you were hoping to access from your site. They do have fully stocked ponds for fishing which my kids loved. There is a small beach. We stayed in our camper so not sure what bathrooms and cabins were like.

After almost a decade at LGE, we most likely will not return for another visit and for this we feel very sad. I have previously written glowing reviews about our visits but not this year. This year was a huge disappointment and these comments were echoed by many others. What happened to the activities staff that performed so admirably over the years? We did not see any familiar faces.
The activities at LGE that we always loved, and looked forward to attending, were far below our expectations and nothing like the previous years. It seemed that the few activities on the schedule were disconnected and thrown together with little to no thought. For example, the beloved theme week is gone, the written schedule was always wrong with timing and location, no beloved nighttime hay rides, most events were cut from 60 minutes to 30 minutes, no boats or kayaks available, Bingo didn’t have a game board, young kids were operating golf carts and high-speed scooters recklessly, Park Rangers were only seen the night before we left, the shuttle was not available on some days, garbage everywhere in the weeds/shrubs around the entrance to the main lodge, septic service only available for seasonal rentals and the entire place wreaked with the smell of marijuana.
The pool area and adjacent building are deplorable and should be torn down. It has been two years since the pool deconstruction started and the entire area is sub-par by far. Please rip this mess out and construct a lagoon pool. This area must be a huge embarrassment to the company.
It was odd that there were no international students this year. We always enjoyed talking with them and found them all to be quite helpful with anything.
PLEASE bring back LGE and not the spectacle that is there now.

What a great experience. We stayed in a lovely cabin. Everything was provided towels washcloths for bath and kitchen pots, dishes, cups utensils and cooking utensils and a wine opener that can open beer bottles too. They did not even miss the little details like TP and paper towels and ice cube trays. There is an on site store that has everything you need or forgot. Sites are close but it never felt like it. We stayed with our dog, The park is very family friendly, pack your kid's bike or scooter, buy a fishing license and head out. There are so many kid friendly activities, movie night in the field, as well as a volleyball, basketball and tennis. The on site pool and restaurant/bar has all foodie favorites covered such yummy food and drinks and a great staff. Lastly, shuttle into Lake George also great staff and attention to detail. Lake George Escape Campground you did a great job.

If you are going to rent one of their cabins, be ware of bedbugs in rental units. Also, bring some air fresheners cause it stinks. We had to clean the toilet when we checked in cause it was dirty. Staffs seem friendly but did not give honest answers about some of the issues.

Efficiency Cabin was filthy and had no storage. We had to purchase a cleaning spray and hangers.
We could only hang a few items in the closet. The shelf in the closet which should have been for clothing had towels stored there. There were no shelves, cabinets or other places to store anything we brought. The bed was uncomfortable. The restaurant did have very good food and drinks. The dog park was nice and large.
