If you're looking for that place that is a bit special - you know, above the norm but not so stuffy you feel on your best behaviour all the time - then this is the place! Great atmosphere, welcoming staff and above all great food at a proper price! I don't care what you order- it's fantastic! Just book and...

Booked a table for dinner on Friday night, booking is advisable and very worthwhile. 1 of the best meals I have eaten in a very long time. Greeted with a smile when we entered, both the barmaid and the waitress on Friday night were nothing short of exceptional. Food was served promptly, drinks were offered when the drinks were low...

Stopped in for dinner. They do not open until 6:30 and reservations are suggested as it's a small area. I'm vegetarian and ordered the mushroom stroganoff. It came with rice versus the noodles which I'm accustomed to. It was full flavoured but when I bit into a piece of fat I quit eating it. I'm not sure if it just...

Great find especially as they accept diners with 🐶 beside the railway. Cosy, no nonsense bar area with several blackboards with specials- lamb, beef steaks, scallops, prawns, white bait etc. Liver pate is excellent. Scallops in lemon butter fabulous. Fillet steak with pepper sauce - I can recommend. Varied wine list.

I had Sunday lunch here with my family on Mother's Day and what a wonderful experience it was. Not only was the food and pudding superb - the best I've had - but the service from Mark (the landlord, who bent over backwards to please us) and his brilliantly attentive staff was second to non, despite it being one of...

We returned here for the second time and it is just as good as the first visit. This time we stayed in one of the comfortable but a bit pricey rooms. The food cooked by the owner Mark is extremely well cooked with a very extensive menu and concentrating on seafood but excellent meat dishes too. Great atmosphere in the...

Whilst staying in the village for a few days we visited the Postgate on several occasions. Excellent tasty food at reasonable prices, not the usual run of the mill pub food, good service and a very friendly and warm welcome from staff, particularly the Landlord. Definitely recommend this pub and will certainly visit again.

This pub was a great find for lunch. We visited here whilst driving around the Moors, and had an amazing lunch. The food is incredible and the atmosphere was great, such a welcoming place. We would happily eat here again!
