We had the best time ever. The people that run the place were helpful and friendly. Every activity is included in the price. Very well run and all the other campers were very friendly. Would definitely recomend this place to any one looking to camp on the area.
I cant speak highly enough about Waubeeka Family Campground. As a professional musician for over 30 years, a slight majority of my performing, has been playing campgrounds around New York and Connecticut. This has allowed me to enjoy great weekend camping experiences with my family, while giving my children an opportunity to enjoy watching their Dad play in a non-club type atmosphere. Our first camping experience at Waubeeka was August 2018. My band was scheduled to play that weekend, and we were accompanied by 3 other families that joined us for a fun-filled camping weekend. Although we were all looking forward to a great weekend, none of us were on a hunt to become seasonal campers. Upon our arrivals, the warm and friendly welcome that we were given, was truly amazing. In addition to the friendly staff, the premises were very clean and continuously maintained. The activities throughout the day were planned with the emphasis on a "family" Campground! We were all treated so well, and was uplifted by the friendly interaction between seasonal campers, that it didn't take long for all of us to inquire about seasonal camping. Once again, management did their best to try and accommodate our wishes of camping "together", and we have all been a part of the Waubeeka Family since! They are continuously making upgrades, and improvements to make every campers experience, one to remember! After having the opportunity to stay in so many campgrounds, I can honestly say, Waubeeka Family Campground is by far, our favorite place!…
We stayed from Friday - Monday. As soon as we pulled in it was like a sausage factory. Campsites are right on top of each other. Ours was in an open field. No shade. Thank goodness we didn't get the ones that are on complete gravel (no shade) and off a black top road= hot as hell! This place caters to their seasonals. If you're a seasonal then the rules don't apply to you. For starters, quiet time is a joke bc there is NO quiet time. 2AM and the loud screams, music, golf carts, you name it! My 16 year old son was scolded by a camp staffer bc he was riding a bike without a helmut...ok that's fine if that's your rule but we spent the rest of the weekend watching seasonal kids zoom past our site without one. When I approached the staffer who had just reprimanded my son and asked why he didn't say anything to the girls that rode by he ignored me and drove away on his golf cart. All weekend long the seasonal site across from us was using a chain saw....for what, I don't know. 8 AM in the morning! We had some jerk ride his golf cart through our campsite completely drunk - which by the way is another rule that the seasonals don't follow. At 10AM Saturday morning there were numerous seasonals out for a ride in their golf carts with beers in their hands - same people still riding around around at 10PM anebriated. Such a joke bc one of the rules clearly states "open containers are not allowed in ANY vehicle." AND "driving any vehicle while intoxicated will result in eviction." The lake, if you even want to call it that is beyond gross. They have a very small beach area/water inflatable playground. Geese love it there. Geese poop and feathers all over the water. Took our dog to the Dog Park (very cute) but when we approached the sally port he (another seasonal) told us his dog is not friendly around other dogs as a warning to us. Well why the hell do you have him in a freaking dog park?!!! Needless to say we will not go back here. Not a fan of being treated like crap by staff and the seasonals there.…
After doing the seaonal camping thing for many years as our children were growing up, we had gotten out of it about 5 years ago. Started checking out some different campgrounds throughout the season.staying as weekenders and thinking we would never become seasonal again, nor have I ever wanted to try out Waubeeka because it didn’t have a pool and that huge for me. Last season we finally stayed while my husbands band was to play there. The warm , welcoming hospitality easily changed my mind. Needless to say we are now seasonal and it truly is our home away from home. I stood at the lake this weekend watching not only my family and friends enjoying themselves, but the entire campground was full of joy, children on bikes, activities, adulting dancing the night away, hopping along on the wibit, peaceful kayaks rides. What an absolute blessing to be part of such a warm and loving campground. The kind, down to earth, courteous , fun staff makes everyone happy to call this our second home! 😁…
Had a fantastic weekend. Lots of activities for the kids and for adults too!. Huge playground and slide and fun bubble maker. Staff was friendly and attentive. The waterfront is awesome, clean and sunny. Would recommend anyone who likes music on Sat nights, maybe some dancing.
