Cooperstown does not have abundant accommodations, and those they do have seem expensive. The Barnwell Inn is the perfect solution. It's a lovely home in a very residential area, but is within walking distance to "downtown" Cooperstown and the Baseball Hall of Fame--our destination. As many have said, the breakfasts are really yummy, and the host and hostess are extraordinarily... More

The Barnwell Inn is comfortable, cozy and well located. It is an easy walk to town and close to Glimmerglass and the Fenimore and Farmer's Museums. Tara and Mark are wonderful hosts, who make you feel right at home. Mark's breakfasts are delicious and quite unique. This was our third visit and we booked for next year.

My husband and I stayed at the Inn during the Glimmerglass Opera Festival. The Inn is tastefully appointed, very comfortable and an excellent location to enjoy all the attractions of the Cooperstown area,The gourmet breakfast prepared by inn-keeper Mark was the perfect way to start each day-delicious food and friendly conversation with the hosts and guests. Many guests stated they... More

We just returned from a Cooperstown stay at The Barnwell Inn during the 2016 Baseball Hall of Fame Induction weekend. Tara and Mark, with gracious warmth and attentive, professional care, make every guest feel both special and pampered. Tara was very organized with the arrangements and helpful with suggestions of options in town. Our Burgundy suite was spacious, very clean... More

My husband and I and another couple chose The Barnwell Inn during our recent trip to the Hall of Fame because of it's great ratings. It was, indeed, fabulous! Staying at a B&B is all about the owners: Tara and Mark are a fun, warm and generous couple! And can Mark cook, or what?!! We could have stayed all day... More

My husband & I spent Labor Day weekend in Cooperstown, staying at the Barnwell Inn. Tara, the owner, was great from the get-go. She helped us decide which room in their home would be best for us and guided us to great eating establishments in the village. Before we arrived, I already felt like Tara was a new friend of... My husband and I stayed at the Barnwell Inn for one night while recently passing through Cooperstown en route to the Finger Lakes. The only disappointment for us was that we couldn't stay longer (or forever)! We stayed in the yellow room, which was beautiful and bright with a huge bathroom. Bed was extremely comfortable. The entire house was beautifully... More

If you ask me to recommend a good lunch place in Cooperstown, I'd be stumped. Why? Because if you do proper justice to Mark Barnwell's Falstaffian breakfasts, you'll never do lunch in this town anytime soon. Mark, a native Georgian, takes a huge love for cooking and adds a homegrown knowledge of Southern cuisine to create spectacular spreads every morning.... More

The Barnwells are great - there are a lot of great places to eat in Cooperstown, but Mark's breakfasts are the best - you won't need more than a snack until dinner! The rooms are absolutely gorgeous (and spotless), we were the only guests the off-season weekend we went (highly recommend) and as such, they gave us a room upgrade,... More

Over July 4th weekend of 2015 we had the pleasure of staying in the Yellow Room at the Barnwell Inn Bed and Breakfast in Cooperstown New York. The Inn was top notch with wonderful breakfasts and a great location, but more than that, the professional management exhibited by Mark and Tara made our stay a great experience. This was our...
