This is the second October that we visited Cooperstown and stayed in this motel because it is, in general, an adequately good place to explore the area at an affordable price: basic but with a lovely view of the lake. However, this year we were very disappointed at the conduct of the staff. There was a power outage in the area, which also affected water provision in the motel. As a result, there was no way of flushing the toilet in a room of four with two children, one of whom was not feeling very well. This happened on a Sunday morning and we were due to check out the next day (Monday). Although the receptionist said that the power would likely be restored in 3-4 hours, my family and I were not sure about this prediction, and asked if it were possible for us to depart a day earlier and receive the refund for the last day. The receptionist explained that she is a "weekend employee" and she does not have the authority to make this decision, while also refusing to give us the contact details of the management, who apparently relinquish their supervisory responsibility over the weekend. The receptionist proceeded to state that the property "is in the country" and things like this can happen pretty often--meaning, water and electricity outages can happen and you, unlucky customer, better deal with it but also pay in full. We do not expect a boutique experience from a random motel; but we do expect the minimum courtesy of understanding that a hotel cannot impose the technicality of its no-refund policy when it is unable to provide its terms of service (here: basic amenities) regardless of the reason behind this inability. The hotel should either allow people to leave with a refund for the remaining day(s), or at the very least make a gesture of reducing the price for a day, offer vouchers, etc. Their solution was to give us water from the rather murky pool to use in the bathroom, which we did not need because at that moment, thankfully, the electricity was restored. About an hour afterward, the owner (?) knocked at the door to see if we are well or need anything. Kind of her to stop by, but totally unnecessary and decorative at that point. Presenting the outage as "something beyond our control" for which "you have to pay nonetheless" is the attitude of grifters, not of serious business people with a sense of honor and customer service. We are not returning next year.

Overall I greatly enjoyed my stay here at this motel. My room was very very clean and my bed and pillows were soft. The view of the lake was wonderful and the pool is 5 feet deep a air controlled building as well as the jacuzzi tub and steam room. The only issues with this place I had was in the shower they one have one shower curtain so if you don’t close the door the curtain will constantly be on you while your trying to shower especially if the air conditioner in the room is on. They need to place a second weighted shower curtain and this would fix this problem. Also 2 of the outlet plugs in the wall near my bed did not work but they had usb outlets in them that did work. Also the game room is very small and I think this place needs to definitely start serving breakfast because it’s about a 7 to 8 mile drive to Cooperstown if you don’t bring your own food. I loved the free wifi and basic cable channels in the room. An it’s very peaceful and quiet at this location. I would definitely comeback again to stay I only didn’t rate a 5/5 because of shower curtain, no breakfast, no ironing board or iron in room, and limited game room other than these small things. It will be a wonder stay you should have. Also the microwave and mini fridge worked well for my stay in the balcony view room and I had queen size beds that were comfortable. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting a quiet getaway but book early because certain seasons it’s hard to get reservations at this location because of The Baseball Hall of Fame. Also they will have plenty of towels in your food but if you need more just leave a sign outside on the front of your door and you will get them. The check in and check out process is extremely easy and pleasant at this location they will have you fill out form to verify your license plate of your car at check in. But again I’d definitely comeback here again to stay I enjoyed myself and the jacuzzi hot tub felt wonderful.

We stayed in suite 120 over induction weekend. We were there for family gathering and not baseball and the x2 price increase for this particular weekend was a bit painful. $600+. Supply and demand in the USA! In 2022 we booked suite 132 which had really smelly rugs, though it was very private. 120 is nicer and cleaner but kitchen is comparitivly bare bones and there is minor rug odor. Beautiful deck and view of the lake. Big problem is aside from small kitchen window, the only way to allow in needed fresh air is via slider onto the deck which has no screen. Both bedroom windows are obstructed with ACs. Flys and mosquitoes enjoyed access. We asked about screen door for slider and were shunned. Also big picture window facing lake from living room which doesn't open is obstructed by internal condensation. Needs more TLC for the $$.

Do not stay here!!! My husband and I checked into our room and when we returned we couldn’t get in. After trying the lock multiple times we found that the person staying in the room next to us had somehow gotten into our room and been staying there. Instead of offering any kind of sympathy the staff’s solution was to move us to a different room and tell us they wouldn’t charge us for the “upgrade.” When we expressed how frustrated we were that this happened they shrugged their shoulders and told us “it wasn’t their fault.” Not only was this a huge safety concern but I’ve never seen such bad hospitality. Definitely worth it to pay more to stay somewhere where people can’t get into your room and the staff will actually care about your safety and stay.

The rooms are very small but were clean. The doors in and out of the room were hard to shut. Some family members had issues with TV working. The facility needs a face lift for the price we paid. $222 Friday and $245 Saturday. No continental breakfast was served, paddle boats were not free and the staff were very rude, especially to anyone with teenagers. Also might mention they have cameras everywhere, and they listen to your conversations on the monitors on the outside grounds. Over-all I rate it a 2, a 1 would mean I am as rude as the lady at the front desk. Definitely need to improve on customer service skills, I won’t be returning to Lake N Pine Cooperstown, NY motel.

4 couples were scheduled to go. I noticed after I made the Expedia reservation in October that Expedia indicated the total amount was due upon arrival. However, lake n pines billed my Amex $400 deposit without even notifying me. I couldn't go at the last minute because I have Covid. The owner couldn't find my expedia reservation for 10 minutes...then didn't even wish me well re: getting better. The three other couples went to see opera at the Glimmerglass festival. After Friday night and Sat night stay, they decided to leave sunday morning, forfeiting seeing the Sunday afternoon perf and giving up their last night of hotel stay because the owner was so unfriendly. I was impressed with the website photos of this Motel. I decided to upgrade to a room with a balcony since the view was pretty nice as shown in the website. Thought the extra cost would be worth it. Upon arriving, we were given a room with an obstructed view of the sauna house & air conditioner units. The woman at the desk was not accommodating. She actually mentioned the room was one of her favorite. The room was clean, but had a musty smell. The motel had several other available rooms and I was disappointed to have paid extra. The only coffee available was the 1 cup coffee brewer which was also a disappointment. Many other lake front motels and hotels available on State Highway 80 which I will consider if ever staying in Cooperstown again.

Let me start out with our room was very clean and neat. We stayed Friday to Sunday. It is older motel but was still very nice. If I ever went again I would stay again , it was on beautiful lake! We enjoyed our visit. Very friendly people. We had a problem with tv the first night but next morning the office woman came and fixed it! The down falls are: It is about 5 miles to town and no places to eat except to go back and forth between town but we had stopped at store and got some snacks and drinks for the room. We went to baseball hall of fame on Saturday and we walked around town in stores etc . We ate at sals pizzeria on Friday night and food was good and very friendly people. We ate lunch at Mel’s Saturday and the burgers were delicious! Saturday night the power went out around 10 pm and was pitch black for hours then came back on around 2 am then off again. This was annoying and no idea why it happened. No way to reach anyone to inquire as office closes at 9-10 pm. The wifi was weak and agree with someone else on here the channel takes a while to change on tv but not a deal breaker.

We made plans to stay here for a few days after reading positive reviews. We were not disappointed! It is a “ma and pa” motel right on Ostego Lake. Our room had a wonderful view of the lake and foothills from the large picture window. We could also sit on the small balcony that faced the lake. If you want a lake view make sure to request it as not all units face the water. Our room was clean and comfortable with a small table, two chairs and a desk and chair. There was a small flat screen tv although the remote seemed to work slowly. The grounds were nicely kept and you could walk down a paved driveway to sit on a patio overlooking the lake. There were also charcoal grills and tables not far from the rooms. A small heated indoor pool and hot tub is in a separate building. We would love to stay here again! It was only about a 15-minute drive to Cooperstown.

My family and I had a great stay at Lake N Pines. We stayed in the green cabin and we immediately loved it so much that we turned a 2 night stay into a 4 night stay. We were in Cooperstown to visit the Baseball hall of fame. Lake N Pines has such a rustic vintage vibe. We had such a relaxing stay there. It was definitely worth paying extra for the cabin so that we could get such a good view of the lake.
