Easy to get to, huge lot, and even though it was on a lake beside a busy road, it still felt exclusive and private. Equidistant from downtown Cooperstown and the Glimmerglass Opera, the location was perfection. My room was easy to get to and had everything I needed (e.g. mini-fridge, microwave, big TV). The space across the highway was a beautiful place to take in the sights of the lake. While the specific room had skylights, which could have awakened me in the wee hours, I sleep with a blindfold to make it a non-issue. (And mind your curtains when you use the shower!)

I knew this place was small and not very modern going in. I was okay with is so no problem there. I wanted a place that was quiet and not expensive. This fit the bill.
This is like stepping back into the 70”s when you would go on vacation with your parents. It’s quaint and tiny. Possibly the smallest room we’ve ever stayed in. However, it was very clean and had everything we needed. Microwave, small fridge, dresser. No closet but a small rack with some hangers. I don’t know how it would be for a long visit but we only stayed 2 nights so good for us. We stayed in room 1 and had a lake view with 2 chairs right outside the slider where you could sit and enjoy the view. Very peaceful. Flatscreen tv with a good variety of channels. My only problem were the pillows, I didn’t like them but that’s me.
Bathroom had a shower with shampoo, body wash and conditioner dispenser. All smelled and worked just fine. Very clean.
Beautiful view of the lake across the street where there were chairs, a deck, an area to go swimming if you were so inclined. Very quiet, not much street traffic at all.
Check in and check out were super quick, both desk people were personable and friendly. The cleaner also did an excellent job.
If you are visiting Cooperstown this is a good place to stay.

From booking to checking in and out, everyone was very personable and treated us with care. With the exception of some stains on the underside of the comforter- the first thing I remove from a hotel bed - the room was very clean. This is a family friendly motel with lake access, close proximity to the Baseball Hall of Fame and the very cute Cooperstown downtown area. The room was appropriate for the price point for this time of year and its location. We were in town for the Baseball Hall of Fame and took advantage of the trolley stop (approximately two miles from the motel) to go into town and not worry about traffic and parking. We would stay here again if we were in the area.

The rooms are very small, and the bath is the same. The shower is about the size of a RV shower. It took at least 5 minutes to get hot water to our room. Ask the guy at the desk about it and he said that was normal considering our room was near the end. So we decided in order to be able to take a shower in the morning we would need to be one of the first up in order to get a hot shower. So we were up and going at 6:30 on a Sunday morning. Not really what we were planning. We had 3 twin size pillows for our king size bed, that have no support. Flat as you can get a “pillow”. The motel does appear to have been remodeled fairly recently. Just be aware that if you want hot water, plan ahead, you might want to bring your own pillow, and plan on only one person at a time in the bathroom.

The King room you stayed in does have three pillows on the bed, and an additional 2 pillows on the hanger shelf in the room. The Lake View is in a lovely location directly across from of Lake Otsego. Our room was extremely clean an comfortable. The motel is an easy 10 minute drive to all of the attractions in Cooperstown. Most importantly, my husband had a medical emergency at 3 a.m. When we called to alert a staff member, we were treated with total empathy and told not to worry about anything - just get the hospital and that "everything" would be taken care of. Fortunately, all is well and we were able to return to Lake View and complete our check out. We are so grateful for the kindness extended to us at a rather upsetting time. We will definitely recommend Lake View to friends and family.

A really sweet place for a stay while in the Cooperstown area that will remind those of a certain age of a childhood hotel vacation Incredibly helpful and nice staff who clearly work hard to keep the place looking good The lakefront area was fun with space for guest to enjoy fishing, swimming, and just hanging out We grilled a few of our meals having brought easylight charcoal ( a great way to save some $$$ and take in the lake view) with us….don’t forget grill tools if you’re thinking of going that route We found it was just right for what we needed for some R&R between activities. We were looking for a quick getaway after the last few month of isolation due to Covid and our cruise vacation being cancelled. We settled on going to Cooperstown. We have been here several times before but always camping. I found the Lake View Motel online and was able to get a last minute room. Our room was super affordable and clean. It had a great view of the lake from the room but the direct lake access the motel provides was the best. My husband could fish from there while I just sat in a very peaceful location. The lake was so clean! My husband said the fish he caught (and released) were the healthiest fish he has ever seen. It’s not peak season at the lake yet which was fine by us. We enjoyed the quiet. The motel was easily located to Main Street Cooperstown and Doreen in the office gave us superb ideas for dining and was very helpful in navigating our vacation through the covid guidelines. Though the room itself could be updated and possibly use a new air conditioner, it was exactly what we expected from our motel stay. I would recommend the Lake View Motel over and over again.

The location on the lake is nice to sit in a chair and look at the pretty lake and mountains. But the main reason is to sleep and the mattresses and pillows in both of our rooms left too much to be desired. And the price was the highest of our trip in upper New York State...$192 per room.

I did check with the office and maintenance staff and didn't have any complaints from our guests in recent weeks about the beds or pillows, and we wished you had let us know by calling the office or the off-hours contact number we provide our guests for any issues or concerns when they arrive and we would have tried to find you an accommodation more to your comfort. Our rates for this time of year are competitively priced with other motel/hotels similar to ours in our area. We hope that in the future you can come and stay with us again and see that it is worth the price you pay to stay at the Lake View Motel.

This was our second time staying at this little motel. The price is reasonable for the area and the views are gorgeous! The rooms are dated, but they are clean. The bed was comfortable. The staff are friendly and eager to help. They have a small deck you can use across the street along with a swimming area ( at your own risk). There is a little road noise if you choose to stay in one of the rooms close to the road. Overall, it was a decent place to stay the night.

Room had a mildew smell. We thought it might just be because AC was not on, so turned on AC. When we returned to room in the evening (after office had closed), found millipedes and many fruit flies in bathroom. Also, a more potent mildew smell. Mattress must have been very old because it had that lumpy cave to the middle feeling. No way that this place deserves its ranking. The best thing that I can say about it is that it is extremely convenient for Glimmerglass.

Our motel does not offer breakfast - however, we can suggestion some great options in the Village of Cooperstown, whether you are looking for a sit down meal or something like grab and go if you want to hit the sites sooner rather than later!
All rooms have a campus refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. All rooms have cable, air conditioning and wireless internet. Rooms either have a hair dryer in the room or one will be provided from the office. Please let me know if we can be of service.
