Had a very quiet and relaxing one night stay at this Motel. Staff were excellent, very friendly and very helpful. The views are tremendous and the lake is so pleasant, a great place to just chill and relax. Plenty of seating areas to view the beautiful scenery from by the lakeside or hilltop viewing points. The Rooms are clean and functional and we had a quiet restful nights sleep.
This was such a sweet and easy stay. It's a quaint, old-fashioned, lakeside motel. Backing up the car right to the room makes unloading/loading so simple. The folks at the motel could not have been nicer, and the room was spotless. The room had a view of the water and came with standard ammenities such as a microwave, fridge, and coffee pot. There is a swimming area and docks. It was so peaceful and lovely.
The room was clean, and the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. We arrived at 8pm for our first night of a two night stay, and Doreen was there to greet us and offer suggestions for dining as we were visiting from Maine. She even took the time to draw out our route on a Cooperstown map! Coffee was always ready by 8am in the office. The view of the lake was particularly beautiful at this time of year, with the morning fog coming off of the water. I would gladly go back!
Our trip to Cooperstown was last minute so we wouldn't be arriving until long after midnight. A quick call to Lake View and we were set, regardless of the hour. When we arrived our key and paperwork were exactly where they said they would be. The room was really nice and we woke up to a fantastic view of the lake. I can't say enough about how much we loved the Lake View Motel. The room was spacious, the view was outstanding, and every single staff member we came in contact with during our stay was beyond friendly. We'd originally planned one night but once we arrived we knew we'd be staying two. We were accommodated without a problem - on a holiday weekend. A quick drive from the National Baseball Hall of Fame (the reason for our trip), Lake View also has paddle boats and fishing poles available to the guests at no extra charge. There are also barbecue grills right outside the rooms. We travel often and have stayed in a lot of motels/hotels. Lake View is by far one of our new favorites. I can't wait to go back.…
and always satisfied. Rooms are large and clean and quiet. The hotel is about 6 miles from downtown Cooperstown and 2 miles to the Glimmerglass Opera. My only complaint this time was that I arrived at the motel at 1:45 on a Thursday afternoon. No cars in the parking lot and I was told I had to wait until 2:30 to check in. What's up with that? The clerk told me that the room was empty but he could not check me in "early". This did not diminish the quality of the motel nor my 5 star rating. Just seemed a little disappointed to have to wait 45 minutes for no reason. Reservations are already made for next year.
