Located in the heart of Cooperstown, Baseball Bed and Breakfast can be easily found at the 1883 Italianate "sunny yellow house with white trim" on Chestnut Street. The 2/3-acre property has a lush green lawn in the rear (suitable for a game of catch) and a deck rimming the rear of the house where breakfast is served (weather permitting) and guests can sit on rockers to spend some quiet time reading or simply enjoying the scenery before they leave for the Glimmerglass Festival or other attractions in Cooperstown. Inside, the house is decorated with baseball memorabilia (except the music room, where the Hostess, Suzanne Rudy, can be found playing her harp at times during the day and early evening). Each of the bedrooms has air conditioning and a private bath, and is appointed in honor of one of the original five inductees to the Hall of Fame: Cobb, Ruth, Mathewson, Johnson and Wagner.
We had a wonderful time at the B&B home of Suzanne & John, just a block & a half from 100-year-old Doubleday Field and a couple of blocks from the National Baseball Hall of Fame & Museum. My son & stayed in our own suite named after Hall of Famer Christy Mathewson, a great pitcher for the New York Giants baseball team a century ago. While we spent most of the days & nights on the streets & establishments in Cooperstown, we had a great time at breakfast with the owners talking everything baseball, current events & the local community. We were treated fantastic...and we even played catch (or as they say in Field of Dreams, 'have a catch) in the backyard. The location was fantastic and we slept like champs.

Recently my husband and I had the opportunity to stay at the Baseball Bed & Breakfast; in Cooperstown, NY. While this was originally a place planed for my husband as part of our get away; I must say it was equality a place for me. We both felt very much at home in our surroundings. We couldn’t have enjoyed our hosts knowledge of the sport and players more. A treat for all!

Suzanne and John are wonderful hosts. Their love and knowledge of baseball is incredible. Suzanne is also involved with the Guild at Glimmerglass and can offer a lot of tips for those events, too. Conveniently located and quiet!

Our stay at the Baseball Bed and Breakfast was very nice and so convenient to all the attractions in Cooperstown. Besides excellent breakfasts, John & Suzanne gav eus great advice on restaurants and sites to see in the area. The Christy Matthewson room was comfortable for the two of us. We enjoyed all the baseball memorabilia throughout the house.

Great location for walking into town. The rooms were very clean and comfortable with baseball themed decorations. The hosts are lovely people very kind, personable and helpful to their guests. The breakfast was homemade fresh and delicious. It was very nice and relaxing to eat outside on the back porch. They had wonderful suggestions of places to eat at and explore. We truly enjoyed our stay.

If you're making a trip to Cooperstown, you;re likely baseball aficionados like me and my husband, What better place to stay than an Inn whose proprietors love the game as much as we do. That passion is evident in the charming touches sprinkled throughout the sprawling home from an early twentieth century baseball-themed pinball machine to photos of Stan Musial (an Inn visitor). Suzanne and John were personable and helpful, rendering restaurant and attraction recommendations as well as information on local churches and mechanics which we gratefully received and used. The Inn is a baseball's throw from the heart of town with ample off-street parking. It is homey and well-maintained. We give it a two-thumbs up!

Cooperstown was the second stop of our HOF tour to celebrate my husband’s birthday. We are so thankful we chose to stay at the Baseball Bed & Breakfast. Suzanne and John couldn’t have been better hosts nor nicer people. They were both so knowledgeable about baseball and Cooperstown and made us feel right at home. Our room was the Ty Cobb room which had a comfortable queen bed and private bathroom and shower. Suzanne fixed us a yummy breakfast both mornings we were there - a great start to our day. The location is within walking distance to the HOF and all the cute shops and restaurants on Main St. The morning we were going to the HOF, it was raining like crazy. Even though it was so close we were going to drive the short distance to avoid getting drenched. Nope! John loaned us each an umbrella and drove us so we would stay dry and wouldn’t have to pay to park. Greatly appreciated! If you ever get a chance to visit the lovely town of Cooperstown and visit the amazing Baseball Hall of Fame, the Baseball Bed and Breakfast is the place to stay. As John would say “Life IS Baseball!”…

Suzanne and John are the nicest hosts (even if they are Yankee fans). We are Cardinal fans. They are both very welcoming, full of knowledge about baseball and the Hall of Fame, and the area. It was a delight to stay in this warm and welcoming place. It is like a mini hall of fame in itself with all of the memorabilia, including some from our beloved Stan Musial and Cardinals. You can’t go wrong with this bed and breakfast.
