This Property is in a Great location close to everything Stores, Restaurants, Gas Stations and of course the Water! We were extremely impressed with the Clipper Inn. Very nicely decorated with what I would say, better decor than most Inns. Rooms came equipped with everything that you could possibly need, even shampoos, lotions,...etc which Most places Do Not have anymore.... More

Clean, but otherwise less than mediocre. Booked a queen room but was given a room with two full beds. The TV didn’t work. Walls are paper thin (I could hear the guy in the next room snoring). Pillows were thin and old and the mattress was uncomfortable. Woken up at 7 AM by a garbage truck picking up the garbage... More

Our party of 9 people checked in to 4 rooms at the Clipper Inn from 8/26-8/28. Check in was fairly quick (since it takes place at the desk for the restaurant there can be minor delays while they take reservations or seat customers depending on the timing of your arrival). The motel is across from a golf course, if you're... More

So we drove into Clayton hoping to go to the brewery in town and just finding a hotel when we got there after spending a week in the 1000 Islands on a house boat. We first stopped at the Harbor Hotel since that was the first place that came up. It looked awesome but we left disappointed as it was... More

Clipper inn has a large menu with something for everyone. I had rack of lamb that was ample and delicious , even the next day. Drinks were good and the service was terrific. It does not have the river views but excels in the quality of food, menu, and service is top notch.

Don't worry about the number of cars out front. This is a large seating capacity restaurant and we got right in on a Friday night around 7 p.m. Food was nicely served and tasty. The small prime rib was quite large, the thousand island dressing was fabulous and my appetizers were plentiful. Wait staff is attentive. No soft drink refills... More

The room was nice but not what I had reserved. I was told they didn't have any more queen beds however a relative booked after me and was given a queen bed. The TV didn't have all of it's channels nor would the wifi come in. When the gentleman came to the room he informed me that the wifi worked... More

Attached to the hugely popular Clipper Inn restaurant are 12 remodelled motel units. Just saw them today for friends coming in the summer looking for reasonable price. This is a great bargain for clean, newly renovated rooms so close to the lovely downtown of historic Clayton. Check prices on the web. Instead of fancy hotels, spend your money enjoying the... More

During our visit in July we decided to stop one night with the kids and try the Clipper Inn and we're so glad we did. It's a bit pricy but I will say that it's worth every penny. You truly get every bit of what you pay for here. The menu is great, there's something for everyone and the kid... More
