This is an interesting place to go. There's a guided tour on the island and they (tour guides) are pretty knowledgeable about the history of the island and castle itself. Since it's a guided tour you don't really get to take as much pictures as you want as you follow along the crowd (maybe it also depends on how bad... More

We took a boat tour here and it was worth the stop. We enjoyed the tour and our tour guide was very knowledgeable. There were numerous Singer sewing machines in different rooms, hence the name of the castle. It was owned by the sewing machine magnate. The castle is in need of quite a few repairs, but it is worth... More

We took the three plus hour tour to this castle and we were impressed with it as well as Boldt Castle. The guided tour we were on was to big, we had thirty plus people and we were strung out to far to hear the great guide we had. Still a good visit.

We really enjoyed this tour. There was something interesting for each of us, 5 in our group. We took so many pictures and oooo'd and ahhhh'd a lot. When we docked we were advised this was kind of a rough walking tour, lots of up and down stairs, lots of inside/outside walking. Yes, there was a lot of walking, but... More

First Zech was an awesome guide. Here is the reason for Average, the castle is in need of massive repairs and its a shame that it is not being down. Bugs were crawling on bedding, furniture needed love, spider webbs every where, walls peeling paint through out, carpet shredding and sadly they shuffle you through QUICK you cannot enjoy yourself... My wife and I stayed in the royal suite. It was a WONDERFUL experience. Scott showed us every nook and cranny of the castle, boat house and the whole island. We had the run of the castle while we were there and the bed room accommodations were everything you could imagine. Be advised the Castle does provide a light dinner... More

We paid $35 (including ferry cost from Schermerhorn) per person to visit the castle. It is guided tour only (< 1 hour); so every step and every moment is limited. Due to this limitation, it is impossible to appreciate the beauty of the castle from other angle. Stepping into the lawn or looking to the other side of the island... More

OMG!! We loved it. The trip began with a boat ride from Schermerhorn Harbor with Captain Glen. We arrived at Singer Castle and were immediately welcomed to Dark Island. Our tour guide Zack, provided an excellent tour. He was very pleasant and extremely knowledgeable in the history of the castle. The tour began with the entrance to "The Great Hall,"... More

The castle is amazing. A weekend stay for two couples is perfect because there are only two hotel suites. Dinner is included but it's best to take your own food to supplement if you want something more than a huge salad. Breakfast is like from a gas bar but fine just the same. The boat house is rumoured to have... More
