My wife and I just finished celebrating our anniversary with an exceptional stay at Glenmere Mansion. We last experienced Glenmere 8 years ago on another anniversary trip . Little has changed and that is wonderful! Glenmere is well staffed with extremely well trained, attentive, courteous, and delightful employees. From the moment you arrive and are greeted at the front door, to the moment you check out you are treated with respect and a desire to please. The food was nothing short of delectable in every case. With only 18 rooms the facility never felt crowded. In fact we often felt as if we were the only people here. We stayed in the Astor Suite which had two spacious bathrooms with radiant heat flooring, and floor to ceiling Carrera Marble. Owners Allan Sternberg and Daniel DeSimone took a huge risk and invested a fortune to undertake a massive four year renovation of Glenmere Mansion. It is clear they put their heart and soul into this place. The results are stunning. Their attention to detail turns a stay here into an effortless adventure in relaxation. We have stayed in Relaix and Chateau properties before and can say that this one is truly a standout. The one fly in the ointment that I feel needs to be mentioned is that the Internet service is spotty at best. In fact we found our room to be in a "dead" zone, which we found to be quite frustrating. Nonetheless I highly recommend this property for your next special occasion or romantic getaway.

Had a wonderful girls overnight stay at Glenmere! If you were not in New York, you would think you were somewhere in Europe! The accomodations are absolutely beautiful, the food in the dining room and at the pub were two of the best meals I had in a very very long time! Kudos to the Chef - very accomodating to gluten free, vegetarian, and vegan diners. Had a lovely spa experience also.

Glenmere Mansion! Just an hour northwest of NYC, is such a treat. Expensive, yes, but this restoration of a Tuscan-style villa estate is special. You feel like you are in a home where the host has paid attention to every detail of the furnishings, decor, and gardens. Creature comforts abound. I compare it to Villa Spalletti Trivelli in Rome in that regard.
But the Glenmere also has a great chef, and fantastic food, from marvelous pancakes, omelettes, breads, and burgers, to sophisticated chicken, fish, and meat dishes. A freshly made corn chowder, calamari in a spicyish tomato sauce served in a mini earthenware bowl. Well selected wines. You eat in a courtyard, the supper room, by the pool, so many nice and quiet spots.
Croquet, bocce court, tennis, walks around the property, the lovely terraces, and the villa itself, are all well-maintained and beautiful. The staff was wonderful as well. Everyone wears a mask at all times, tables everywhere are at least six feet apart. The best parts for me are the friendly, attentive staff, and how tranquil Glenmere is. The resort does not allow children, and it attracts people who are respectful of the peaceful atmosphere. In addition, when someone is celebrating a special occasion with a group, Glenmere has a private dining room as well as private terrace areas, We will definitely return.

I will start with the positive, the food was superb in both the main dining room and pub. In the spring and fall the grounds must be gorgeous Now to why I am giving it a poor rating. We stayed in room #6 which needs someone from management to visit in order to address issues. To name a few things the shower head is only 1/3 functional, the toilet seat is black thus showing the chipping (white) and the electrical outlet cover was completely missing. The staff was delightful but inexperienced and they were in need of leadership/ownership. When we arrived for dinner the second night we were taken to our table by the doorman, who was wearing a winter jacket. He continued being the doorman and hostess the rest of the evening. This confirmed they are understaffed. When we arrived at the pub for lunch there were 3 tables not cleaned and dirty dishes were piled on the bar. The tables were finally being cleaned prior to us finishing our lunch. Another simple detail missing were the flowers. There were poinsettias throughout the hotel. However, it seemed like they had just been picked up at the local grocery store because instead of being placed in a beautiful container they were in plastic pots with cheap foil wrapping. The pub had a large vase of fake flowers behind the bar that are in desperate need of rejuvenation. Having stayed in many Relais Chateaux hotels, in the same or much higher price point, this was, by far, the most disappointing,

We celebrated our friend’s 50th birthday on a beautiful sunny day in July. The grounds are beautiful and well kept, the staff was polite and accommodating and the food was delicious and just the right portions. A special shout out to our main server Lisa who was so pleasant but also gave the entire tea room a special treat by singing happy birthday. Every party in the room was celebrating a birthday! Thank you for a wonderful and memorable Sunday brunch.

Want to feel like you’re at a plush , most charming , most luxurious Tuscan style mansion without having to travel to Tuscany ? Then this is your place . Given that covid is prohibiting our travel to Europe , this was the next best thing if not even better , dare I say . This resort and spa is immaculately manicured with every inch of its several acre grounds , just perfectly appointed and incredibly tasteful . It’ll blow your mind away - every room , every seating and dining area not to mention the guest rooms !! The all marble bathrooms will bring you to tears of joy and that moorish style porcelain hand painted sink is just stunning . No picture will do this place justice . You have to go in person to experience this 10 star luxury resort . Don’t get me started on the friendliest most service oriented and best trained staff . Even the doorman Trevor who greets you is polished and incredibly sweet . The sommelier Christian , only 3 days on the job and I could spend pages just talking about his service and how much he bent backwards helping to make our dinner the most memorable ever . Pamela who helped me with the behind the scenes stuff and our reservation plus everything leading up to our stay was incredibly thorough , professional and just beyond amicable . Linda who gave us a tour of the property was absolutely wonderful and a breath of fresh air from the second we met . Literally felt like I’d known her for years . The swimming pool area surrounded with beauty from every angle entertained us beautifully . Nothing about our stay was less than perfect . Thank you for a most incredible stay . And kudos to the owners who have done a remarkable job to say the least with the restoration of this historical mansion and obviously the upkeep and most detail oriented operations of this magical place .

We did not stay at the Inn, but booked a dinner reservation about three weeks out based on all of the fine reviews. The grounds are beautiful and the service is excellent. They have very good staff. I give them that. And the mansion's interior is lovely. But we expected much more in terms of cuisine. For one thing, we were seated in the bar area. We reserved outdoors, but they considered outdoors in the courtyard, and it was too warm, so we switched to indoors with AC. The "formal" dining room was somehow booked. We were told we weren't seated there because you have to ask when reserving. We had no idea. So if you want the formal dining area, be sure to ask when you reserve. The total price for dinner was also too high. $200 a head without even a bottle of wine. The food was tasty, but portions were small and not nearly worth the money. The couple next to us in the bar area ordered a burger and split it between them. They had the right idea!

Glenmere Mansion is a luxury getaway. Be prepared to pay premium dollars, but paying premium dollars are justified when you get a premium experience. The grounds are pristine, impeccably maintained, and visually stunning. The house itself has a great, old world charm but the rooms are modern and well appointed. The onsite restaurant serves up delicious meals (the salmon benedict breakfast and the lobster scampi pasta dinner were our favorites, but you are doing yourself an absolute disservice if you don't try their smokehouse burger --- this may be the best burger I've ever had). But without question, the biggest reason to visit Glenmere is the staff. From the moment you walk in, they are attentive, accommodating, and friendly. Special thanks go out to Priscilla and Pamela at the front desk (who helped us with a new room when our prior one had a bit of a noise issue), Chris the butler (always around to answer questions), Tom behind the bar (for mixing up great drinks all weekend), and Christian in the restaurant (for just being himself). Thanks everyone who made our visit so special.

I recently stayed at Glenmere for an intimate weekend with my family and the experience was unmatched. From the moment we arrived, the staff, beautiful holiday décor and overall warmth of the hotel exceeded our expectations. It was so lovely to be able to slow down and enjoy some quiet time together! The library is the perfect spot to curl up with a book and cocktail in hand - we left that weekend with a new favorite drink! And we are still dreaming about our meals. I highly recommend the muffins at breakfast (you have to try them all!) and just about everything on the dinner menu! And while not spending time throughout the property with family, our room was a sanctuary – the heated tiles in the bathroom is such a charming touch. We cannot express enough gratitude to the staff and owners of Glenmere Mansion. We were so impressed with the attention to detail and you all made us feel so welcome and at home. This was the perfect location to celebrate the holidays with family and my husband and I will be returning as soon as I can.

The venue is absolutely beautiful with rolling manicured lawns, lush shrubbery, magnificent trees and an authentic Tuscan garden leading to the pool. The rooms in this former mansion built in a bygone era are well appointed with generous amenities. But what makes a great hotel is what Glenmere Mansion offers -outstanding service. No reasonable or trivial request was denied or avoided. The feeling of discreet graciousness pervades the hotel with a staff dedicated to making the guests feel at home. I will say, though, that I sympathize with the last reviewer who pointed out the lack of safety features in the spa. Our bathroom had a large shower with a slippery floor and not a single bar, handle or anything else to hold onto. It was an accident waiting to happen. But my bottom line is, regardless of their cavalier attitude toward guest safety, it offers a wonderful haven in which to relax and be pampered, including the beautiful spa. And by the way, the food was outstanding!
