This is our third time at Chautauqua and I'm always amazed at the wonderful and diverse programming. Jazz week is very special--more to learn than I ever would have thought. We've been to talks on Gospel, Motown, Blues and Jazz. Wynton 's opening presentation was inspirational and thought-provoking. We look forward to next year and the brand new amphitheater.

This week I am visiting the Chautauqua institution for the fifth time. I continue to be amazed at what a wonderful place this is – full of insight and learning. I am surrounded by people who are lifelong learners. Every morning there's a talk on a global scale from the world of science or politics or economics or sociology or…....

I had never been to Chautauqua prior to this year, and regret having made my plans to stay here sight unseen. This place is dangerous - slanted walkways, poor lighting, AC units about to fall out of the window, and the windows do not open. "Breakfast" is raisin snacks in the community fridge, the AC unit barely worked - waking...

I've stayed at the Cambridge every summer for three years now. It's an older set of buildings compared to the newer ones that have been built around them, but there's SO much to love about them! You can stay at one of the cookie-cutter newer places, but if you really want the full experience of the Institution, which itself is...

This lodge is very warm, friendly and inviting. All the staff were particularly helpful and although I have been going to the Chautauqua Institute for 25+ years it is the first time that I have stayed here. My loss.

Stayed in the Sunflower room. Let's start with the positives---the location. Right next to the Ampitheater and Bestor Plaza. That's all one can say on that score. Now for the negatives--a musty smell greeted us as we entered and never left our nostrils. The bathroom was in disrepair with no electrical outlet or space for supplies. The sink and its...

This review comes really late since we stayed at the Cambridge just about a year ago (July/August 2013). The owners, Dick and Susan, was very pleasant and worked hard to make our stay enjoyable As others have noted, it's not the ritz, but the price was right and the rooms were very comfortable with basic amenities and funky charm. Our...

I've stayed at the Cambridge six times and am happy to return each year. It's quaint but comfortable. This century-old building shows its age, but that adds to the charm. The Ritz it's not -- but rooms are clean and liveable with "mix and match" decor. Baths on each floor are shared, but kept clean. The ideal location trumps all...

I've stayed at the Cambridge several times and the owners and location make this Inn the place to stay at Chautauqua. There is a charming little outdoor area for reading, taking in a book or a light conversation. The outdoor kitchen is perfect for a breakfast or on the go snack. Susan and Dick, the owners/innkeepers, are charming, helpful and...

I have know DIck and Susasn< owners of the cambridge for over thirty years. They are a delightful and gracious host and hostess. I spent the entire summer of 2010 staying at The Cambridge. My accomadations were great. My room was clean when I arrived and the water pressure in the shower couldn't have been better. Being 100 yards from...
