Room was very nice with a nice outside porch for sitting and enjoying the air. Bed was very comfortable and although I didn't use it had a small fridge and a microwave installed. I had a great time here and it was so convenient to all the events at the Chatauqua Institute. The food in the restuarant was great....I gained... More

Yes, it was very cheap. The total cost of $1,900 gave us 2 gate passes, parking and room for 7 nights. Oh, and 3 "meals" at the restaurant. Yes, it is a series of buildings that are over 100 years old. No, it does not have the "Chautauqua charm". It has ground in dirt. Our queen efficiency felt and smelled... More

We stayed here week 2 (2015) and loved everything about this historic building. Its decorated with charm and reflects a bygone era that simply cant be replaced. Chauautaua has only a 9 week season and you will not find a Hyatt or Hilton here. the charm of the place is its old fashioned demeanor and quality. Also the tally ho... More

Chautauqua is a great place to visit: great lectures, cool weather, lots of activities, but do not stay here. We could not open our windows due to the kitchen smell; especially sad with the cool mountain breezes. The bed was so awful that my wife and I had to take turns to get a good nights sleep. The owners tried... More

We really should have followed the reviews and avoided this place but since figuring out accommodations at Chautauqua was so confusing, we thought we could handle this place. This was one of the worst places we ever stayed in. Chautauqua should step in and force them to follow basic hotel standards. We got the room we reserved but met 3... More

First, to avoid confusion, this is not a review of the Tally Ho Hotel itself, nor its restaurant. The owners of the Tally Ho also rent apartments in other locations in Chautauqua. This is a review of Apt. C-D (3rd floor) at 13 Roberts Street. This was our first visit to Chautauqua. If you haven't gone there, you should. It... More

Outside table was pleasant, as was the waitress. The person at front desk was so negative that we almost left before staff came out and welcomed us into the buffet room; we did arrive near closing, but receptionist should either say I'm sorry we're closing or "let me check"; felt like she had been doing the job way too long,... We stayed at an apartment, Mardelle #1 at 13 Roberts, owned by the Tally Ho. It was spic and span clean, quiet and comfortable. But the real plus was the food at the Tally Ho. Son Jason does and exceptional job as chef, and his father Rick (who really runs he place) is the baker. All in all a wonderful... More

My parents greatly enjoyed a fantastic experience at the Tally Ho, in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary.. The lodging was clean, comfortable, and close to the Amphitheater on the grounds of the Chautauqua Institution. They said the meals were delicious and the service at the hotel and restaurant, most accommodating. The owner and entire staff were most gracious and... More

We have never stayed in such a dump. Would not have stayed there but had already paid, and could not find another place. We left early, as soon as possible. The room was absolutely terrible, we cannot recommend anything about this place including the food. There were holes in the walls, the hot water in the "shower" was a trickle,... More
