It doesn't matter if you are on vacation for a week or for a night: this is the place you should stay at! We got the Rose Room, it was extra clean and extra comfortable. Plus... TREATS EVERYWHERE! Every 6 feet there is a complimentary treat, either home made or not. Staying here will recharge your body and soul. The breakfast is a feast: you can skip lunch afterwards. Fay cooks very well and you can expect tasty and creative cooking from here. The premises are all very tidy, neat and clean. We felt very safe in COVID times. Would go back from sure and we recommend it greately.

Property's Favorite Review
Sutherland House may not be the best kept secret in the finger lakes, but I'm worried the more we rave about it, the harder it will be to get in at our favorite time of the year. There is nothing even remotely upsetting I can say about this place. If anyone can, they are the wrong type of people for a B&B, and should stay in a Motel 6. The hosts are soooo accommodating, its unreal. You never leave the house hungry, those who choose to skip breakfast will never know the experience they are missing. coming back at night after a day of wine trails is the best part. Sitting around the fire pit with Bob and Faye enjoying wine and stories is the perfect end to a terrific day. We've just completed our 5th year there, and each year we keep adding another day to the stay. We have been bringing friends with us at year three, and now they come with us every year. Thinking of making this a twice a year event for us personally.I cant pile enough praise on this place. We are blue collar people, and treated like VIP's. The worst part is getting up for that last breakfast, knowing that soon you will close the door behind you, until your next visit. But the memories get talked about all year long with friends and you start planing your next stay. Thanks Faye and Bob, for being part of our family!!

Linda, Your kind words brought a tear to our eyes. We love what we do, and when our guests become family, it's even better. We're thrilled that you and the group continue to stay with us, so we can spend even more time together - we love it! Start planning next year's visit, and we'll keep posting the annual photo! Until next time.... Bob and Faye

I just got back from a weekend at Sutherland House and it was the best weekend. The rooms were very clean and pictures don't do it justice. Faye is an amazing cook i wanted to bring her home with me. Now Bob best sence of humor ever i loved our banter. I will definitely be going back

My wife and I scheduled a last minute COVID getaway to the finger lakes. We spend two nights at the Sutherland. Faye and Bob were spectacular hosts. The 3 -course breakfast was amazing each day. The house is stunning, a real Victorian that has been immaculately restored. I emailed Faye that my wife is allergic to tree nuts, and she baked separate cookies for her without nuts that were waiting for us when we arrived. The house is just a short, 2 minute drive to downtown restaurants and beach area on Canandaigua lake. The outside patio is beautiful, just under the amazing copper beech tree. We highly recommend the Sutherland.

Sutherland B&B is lovely. Its is approximately five minutes away from Kershaw Park. It has a very nice rustic and romantic setup. We were greeted by Faye as we got there, she gave us some suggestions of places to visit around the area. The only thing that could have made this experience better was a little more of kindness. Me and my girlfriend were sitting at a table talking to a couple when my mom called to tell us how our cats were doing. She told them and they were fine with it, we kept talking while she was on the phone. It was fine until Faye showed up and told my girlfriend to move to the other room with an angry look. My girlfriend moved onto the other room but we could still listened to her so Faye came to her and practically kicked her out of the room in a very rude way. I understand that everyone has their own rules regarding talking on the phone but there are better ways to handle this type of situation. Specially when you don’t know why the person is talking on the phone. My girlfriend’s cat died accidentally and that’s why she is so obsessed about the cats and their well-being. This was the first time we left them alonce. I would not come back for this reason but the place was comfortable and nice.

"Youngtravelers", We appreciate your comments that Sutherland House is lovely, convenient, comfortable and nice. However, what is not mentioned are the details of the "situation" you reference. The facts are that during breakfast, while another couple was seating in the same room at the other end of a long table, trying to enjoy their breakfast, your girlfriend took a phone call and PUT THE PHONE ON SPEAKER. Even after the first call ended, another call was taken, with was an extended discussion, again ON SPEAKER. The volume was VERY loud and disruptive to everyone in the room, regardless of the reason for the call. It is unfortunate that it was necessary to ask your girlfriend to leave the room. Yes, the situation could be have been handled better - the polite thing to do would have been to excuse yourself from the table and going into another room or outside. We're sorry you feel you wouldn't return to Sutherland House for "this reason". Safe travels. Bob and Faye
