We loved our stay at Nine River Road! Very nicely renovated and perfectly decorated Bed&Breakfast in the Western Catskills, a stone’s throw from Pennsylvania. Very cozy living room, breakfast was delicious with all the local honey and bread. And it was puppy friendly which made our trip!! Everyone made us feel very welcome and CALLICOON is a delightful town. Can’t wait to return!
Nestled in the Catskills, where cell service is scarce (to none), lies Nine River Road. Steps away from Upper Main St in Callicoon this inn has charm. The interior and guest rooms redone tastefully and most importantly, practically. We stayed in room 2 which was just off the living room. Our inn keeper Lucille was extremely helpful, especially since we booked through the One:Night app an our room key and welcome note were not left out for us upon our late arrival. The property expands from the partially screened back porch to tables to dine at, to Adirondack chairs around a fire pit, all the way down to the edge of the Delaware River. Breakfast, which is included, was superb. DIY-waffles, quiche, fruit, hard boiled eggs, breakfast sausage, coffee, orange juice, and a personal favorite: apple cider. Our only regret is that we only stayed one night. We can’t wait to stay here again.…
A short walk from the old but well-maintained hotel puts you into the cool, very clear waters of the mighty Delaware River and almost justifies the high-end Catskill prices. Hosanna the charming innkeeper calmly and deftly fixes all problems with minimum fuss and ensures the ample breakfasts and honor bar are kept clean and well stocked. Comfy beds with lovely linens. Bonus: they take pets
Love this place! Brought my husband back this time. Love the room and bath. All top quality linens and products. Ceiling fan and window air conditioner. All sufficient for summer days and nights. Quiet street. Delicious breakfast. Host Hosanna is warm friendly and interesting. Love the back yard access to the river, the lawn chairs and lights, the screened in porches, living room etc. we will be back again
We had a weekend-long big birthday celebration to attend nearby and booked Nine River Road for three nights. When we arrived, we found that there had been a screw-up in our reservation and there were no rooms...and it was Memorial Day weekend! The staff sent us out for a walk and, when we came back, they had created a solution that went ridiculously beyond any expectations. They turned what could have been an awful situation for us into a minor inconvenience that was more than rectified by their generosity -- not only of $ but of spirit! The inn itself is perfect down to the details. We will definitely stay here or at their other properties the next time we are in the area. PS - It is dog friendly and our pup loved the house and, especially, the long yard down to the river.
