The air conditioner had mold spores, the boxspring had dried throw-up on it, roaches galor and you could get a free high by walking in the hallways. It smells like a "weed house". Don't bring your children! Management is horrible!
For a one night stay and good location it was all we needed! Hallway was loud (stair doors opening and closing) and the hallway had a weed smell at times but hey it’s NY. Room was small BUT no need for bigger. Parking is tricky but it worked out! The breakfast provided was impressive. All staff were helpful! They offer the basics here which is all we needed, I found it 100% clean! We would stay here again if needed!
I stayed at the Rodeaway inn for 1 night during the week. Parking is a bit of a hastle, not the hotel’s fault. Check in was a breeze did not take too long. The room was clean, but very very small. But everything else was fine, my expectations were not high since this was a 1 night stay mostly for leisure. The Wifi was a little slow at times but adequate. Complimentary breakfast was awesome, not a lot of choices but there is something for everyone. Overall a good stay.
This place is more like a boarding house where people are permanent residents. Cockroaches in room, thin walls, noise from permanent residents, no parking, miniature pillows, although that didn't matter as we spent the night awake killing bugs. The decor in the room is black furniture and a very dark pattern rug so you don't see the roaches until they crawl up the walls. Lots of dried splats on the walls where previous guests had squashed bugs. Checked out early and will never return.
Very shabby, hallway carpet is covered in filthy stains. Rooms were clean, bathroom was fine and beds were comfy but every piece of furniture clearly over-used. No evidence of roaches, but very residential feel to this obvious welfare hotel. Confirmed that 3/4 of rooms are occupied by residents for 6m to 1 year, so it's noisy with lots of smokers and babies, but not intolerable and folks are generally respectful. Very pleasant and helpful staff. 5 free first-come/first-serve parking spaces out front, next to dumpster and pile of last year's curtains. Gym downstairs is now storage. On one side is noisy street, on the other is noisy MARC trains. 3 blocks to nearest diner, but 5 blocks to Botanical Garden is definite plus and very convenient to train into Manhattan.
