I was disappointed in the service upon check in. The front desk staff wasn’t welcoming at all. Upon entering they seemed surprised that I was staying in the hotel. I arrived about an hour or so before check and the room wasn’t ready which was fine. Then I asked about having lunch at the restaurant and the woman at the front desk pointed me in direction of the restaurant (I’ve stayed at many 5 star hotels and the proper thing to do especially when a guest has to wait is to walk them over to the facility and introduce them to the host) and I had to really navigate my way around the property which isn’t acceptable. The food at the restaurant and my server (Lizette) was amazing but the hostess gave me bad table on the main street with traffic and it took a long time for me to receive the check. I showed up at check in at 3pm and the room still wasn’t ready. I waited for about 10 minutes and then the same woman at check in walked me over to my room. She told me about the property but didn’t make eye contact with me once and didn’t seem happy to be there. The room was clean and beautiful. But unfortunately room service was delayed. I placed an order to be delivered between 8/8:30pm and the food didn’t arrive until past 9pm. I had to call them to remind them of my order which again isn’t acceptable service when you’re paying four thousand dollars for a suite. It’s a beautiful property the service is not 5 stars. I’m not sure if me being a young woman of color out the staff off but I didn’t feel welcomed. Hopefully this feedback is helpful for you to improve your service and it allows you to train your staff on how to show kindness and make EVERYONE feel welcomed.…
We had spent the weekend with friends in southampton and with weather being great decided to stay in the area and secured a reservation an hour before arriving. we had breakfasts, a lunch and dinner at the hotel. food was excellent and a great value for a hotel of this caliber. the rooms were nice, our boys loved the pool. each staff member interacted warmly with our sons. Kendall was especially kind. the room was spotless, having a small backyard in the cottage section of the hotel was also very nice.
We were in the main house, room 4. There's a stairway directly into the restaurant right outside the room, which means you're hearing noise from the restaurant. (Maybe request a room that's not in the main house? Maybe those are better.) And if there's a wedding, you're definitely hearing that. No earplugs provided. TV in room basically not functional -- had just about every streaming app but the Wifi wasn't strong enough to support streaming. Phone in room not working. Jacuzzi not working. Two Pelotons in the gym -- which is amazing -- but one required spin shoes (no "straps" for regular shoes) and the other one's seat was stuck (couldn't move it up or down). I reported this to the front desk; was told they'd have an engineer look at it, but it wasn't fixed the next day. No coffeemaker in the room. When we checked in, they said that a coffee bar was put out in the lobby at 8, but if you wanted coffee before that, you could just ask at the front desk. That actually wasn't true. Thankfully, Starbucks across the street opened by 6. The water in the shower would abruptly become very cold for 3-10 seconds -- presumably when a guest in another room or at the restaurant "flushed." Not enough working electrical outlets in the room. Free snacks and drinks -- which is great! -- but they weren't restocked. Hotel has great potential, fantastic location and food, but at this price point I don't think it's unreasonable to expect things to just "work" -- or be fixed quickly when they're not. Also, breakfast and coffee should be available earlier than 8 a.m.…
Loved the amenities, the staff, the cleanliness and services provided. The restaurant was terrific for dinner and breakfast as well. Would definitely return to this lovely place in the heart of the Hamptons.
I had not been here in two years, and it was better than we remembered. Staff is great and always accommodating. Food is excellent and the rooms are quaint, quiet and enjoyable. The property was in great condition.
The staff was very warm and welcoming. They all made the experience so memorable for my family during our stay. I am looking forward to coming back again. We absolutely loved Topping Rose for such a wonderful time.
Topping Rose is my “go to” for comfort, security, and full service in the Hamptons. From the ease of booking to check out, you have everything you need for a great stay. The rooms are well designed for lounging with billowy bedding and blackout curtains for a great night’s sleep. I highly recommend taking advantage of the restaurant for morning pancakes and dinner selections. With spa and exercise offerings, Topping Rose has it all.
Beautiful property and excellent staff/service. the most comfortable bed i've ever slept in. Highly recommend staying here. Bar staff is wonderful. walking distance to Bridgehampton restaurants is a plus.
My husband and I spend a night here mid-week for my birthday in the offseason. The property was pretty and the service was excellent. Really enjoyed having our own little patio off of our room. We took advantage of the bikes to ride to the beach in the morning. Breakfast was nice.
We enjoyed our first visit at Topping Rose house and it was a fantastic visit with exceptional attention to detail and generous, very hard working staff. We enjoyed w nderful meals, coupled with a spacious, lovely room with a view of the garden from the main house. Above all we loved staying in this location to go on stunning beach walks, stroll along the streets window shopping... despite an $80 parking ticket in East Hampton (grrrrr... but my fault). Jean Georges restaurant at Topping Rose provided ample, beautiful breakfasts and a lovely dinner during our stay. Wait staff was attentive, kind, humorous and set a tone of pleasure over pretention at a place that could go either way. If you stay there... over tip, give generously and appreciate that you can stay here and be catered to by such wonderful, hard working young people living in an area so gentrified as to be almost prohibitive to make a living. An art piece for $22,000 hung on the wall outside the restaurant. Honestly... I felt embarrassed by that. I am grateful for our visit and to all those at Topping rose that made it effortless, fun, beautiful, private, intimate and delicious. It takes a dedicated village to pull off such effortless beauty. As early risers, one wish is for a nice self-serve coffee station in the morning to allow for a great cup of coffee in bed before breakfast. Much gratitude to all....…
