Date of Stay Friday -Aug 18 Inn a summer where travel has been very expensive all around, finding decent hotels at a decent price for a road trip has been a bit challenging. We booked the Days inn Brewerton because in Syracuse area – it was the only hotel that was less than $200.
This hotel is a little outdated – and the hallways showed its age. However, the rooms were a lot better than the hallway indicated. The rooms were nice, comfortable, and clean. There was no musty smell, or foul odours. There was no peeling of wallpaper or aging of the décor. The beds -2 queens were very comfortable. Each had 4 pillows of a medium firmness. And comfortable. There were no critters, or dirty spots in the room. The bathroom is large and very clean. The shower head was a bit low which wasn’t great for a 6’4” but it is fine for most people. We had to go down to the main office to get towels as the room didn’t have enough. (not a big deal). The Breakfast was fairly limited to yogurt, egg bacon and cheese biscuits sandwiches, coffee, tea, juice, etc. it is available / served 6 am – 9am. In fact there was a sign on the fridge in the breakfast room that indicated breakfast was premade bacon/egg/cheese biscuits & yogurt. This was not that appealing to us, so we didn’t wake up early enough to partake. Exercise room – has 3 machines and was opened 24 hours.
The front desk girl at check in was very friendly and she was also there when we checked out.

The room was fair. There were some minor cleanliness issues on non-contact surfaces and some basic maintenance that needed to be done, but for the excellent price, it was fair. Everything in the room worked: heating/air conditioning, television, lamps, telephone, hair dryer, coffee maker – I did not try the iron (There was also an ironing board). No refrigerator or microwave in the room I was in but there is a microwave in the lobby that can be used. Also, they do have a “business center” in their lobby which consisted of two computers and a printer which could come in handy if needed. Things you should expect: The fitness center is closed still due to Covid according to the sign; the vending machine has almost no items in it which appears to be a long-term issue; the breakfast is packaged muffins and packets of flavored oatmeal along with coffee and juice. I give the front desk staff five stars. All were friendly, efficient and kind. Overall, I would stay there again (once their fitness center is open again.)

There are few options for name brand hotels near Brewerton. The presence of Rt 81 makes travel north or south easy and accessible to both attractions.. The Days Inn was comfortable and clean but a little tired. Rooms are not made up if staying multiple nights but fresh towels, shampoo, soap and other amenities were refreshed daily. Front end staff was friendly and helpful.

Gross! The bathroom had mold and water running down wall from 2nd floor room. Carpet and furniture stained with unknown substance. Carpet in hallway separating and trip hazard. No towels, no remote for tv, phone did not work, and no soap. Only way to wash hands was to use sink and then reach into shower to get liquid soap because they were out of soap (yes, they admitted this). At the sink soap dispenser was hand lotion. Room smelled like mildew, likely due to leak. Free breakfast was cold cereal and hot cereal packets. No milk. They said they didn’t get their shipment of sausage microwaveable biscuits Beyond a joke and a serious ripoff. Don’t go. If you do go, you can’t say you were not warned.

Room ceiling & walls are stained & need to be painted. Hallway & room carpet should be replaced or at minimum deep cleaned. We've stayed there many times in the past as it's a good location for us, beds & pillows are comfortable & linens always smell fresh. Unfortunately, conditions at this Days Inn location have seriously declined. The first room we were assigned had sheers but no curtains on the windows, the a/c & refrigerator didn't cool properly, there was no handsoap or towels, sink stopper was missing, toilet bowl was stained, phone was inoperable becuase there was no cord to connect to the wall. We had to request a TV remote.

Never again! Carpets are filthy, safety latches are broken on doors, kleenex is stuffed in the peephole of the door, the bathroom floor was not cleaned, and short on towels and toiletries. No remote to the TVs and the clerks are nowhere to be found since they have to do everything. No staff. And no time to see to every customer. The free breakfast was a green apple, a small packet of oatmeal, and coffee. After driving all day, we arrived a couple of hours early and although our room was ready, we had to pay $10/hour for each hour we were early to check-in! We stayed one night and left asap the next day. This was an expensive lesson. I am very disappointed with this hotel chain. Look elsewhere when traveling.

First. I like a balanced review when possible. The staff all friendly, the property common areas are clean and well presented. It has a nice location. Getting to the room is where the wheels fall off the bus. My bed linens stained with grease, 1/3 of my original towels where this odd gray color, not white, the air con was noisy, the toilet barely flushed, the shower curtain rod was almost falling off wall. Then. The oddest, with a ‘Covid commitment to clean promise everywhere, I find a used bar of soap in the shower…. I couldn’t find an answer when I asked myself how could you miss this, did they even really clean. Breakfast was limited, this was pre advertised, but the coffee pots were always empty in the morning. I asked a couple times about getting them filled, and the front desk person said they were hosting a fishing camp, and they get cleaned out pretty quickly. Which was true, but why not check in on them more frequently if you know they’re being emptied. Rarely wear the front desk people at the front desk, especially during peak times like late afternoon early evening and in the morning. Figuring I was having an off experience, I did chat with a few other folks while waiting for coffee, and their experience both in the morning and with the room was similar. So it just wasn’t my room or experience. Kudos on location and generally having a friendly staff, but once you get past the first impression, the hotel leaves a lot to be desired and it’s a struggle to be justified even at a low price point.

We drove from NC to visit family, stayed for 5 nights and will most likely never stay again. (See the photos.) When we arrived we just wanted to rest but found urine stained sheets and wet pad on the king bed. Blood stained pillows and trash beside the bed. We were able to switch rooms but the second wasn’t much better. A/C in the room was barely working so I pulled out the filters to find them extremely dirty and probably the reason why the unit couldn’t push out air. Breakfast was coffee, oatmeal, flat muffins with ants crawling on the packages in the case, and cereal. Multiple things out of order including guest laundry, ice machine, water dispenser and their printer to print me a receipt of payment. They did email me my receipt. The fitness center is 2 machines. Trash piled up outside of each doorway. Parking is insane with the boats allowed to park and orange cones saving parking spaces. I brought my dirty towels to the desk to swap out for new ones, each time I was told they were out of towels or they needed to dry them. I was more successful getting fresh towels around 11am from a housekeeper. Multiple holes in walls and hallway ceilings, water damage all over the property. Electrical wires and plugs look dangerous. If you can’t find another place to stay, just use caution and check your bed and pillows. Don’t put your things on the floor.

4 rooms were reserved Check in was at 3pm and due to the rooms not being ready, we were unable to check in until between 8:30 and 9:15 p.m. (unacceptable). The rooms were loud, missing microwaves, we couldn't control the AC, the shower curtain was falling off the wall, the sheets were stained, the pillows were small and lumpy, we asked for extra towels and pillow (never received them), the halls reeked of vomit smell..... and we were told "It was your choice to stay here when we complained at checkout!" I could continue, but I think this tells it all.

Worst experience ever. No continental breakfast not even coffee, no staff one person at front desk that is never there. Rang bell for 10 minutes, no towels in room when asked they were going to wash some told me to come down and get some in 30 minutes. Bag of garbage in stairwell for days that the smell was repulsive. I don't know why so many reviews are sort of local. I did read reviews before going to the motel. I am from Virginia. I did see this in a coupon book and received a fairly good rate for the NY area. I am usually careful before going to a Days Inn, but this one was pretty good for a Days Inn. I usually stay at a Holiday Inn Express, but those in the area were too expensive and the Days Inn was OK.
There are more places to choose from in the Brewerton area.
