We spent 4 nights at the Sagamore for Thanksgiving. Arrived November 24 and left on the 28. My husband and I were last there around 13 years ago before the outdoor pool was put in. When we visited back then, it was in the summer and we stayed in the lodges. I always wanted to come back for Thanksgiving - it was on my bucket list. This time we stayed in the hotel and had a double queen suite. We had our 2 elementary school aged children with us and it was their first time. From check in to departure everyone was nice and helpful. We spoke to many friendly families. My kids loved the rec center and played with kids there. They loved the pool area too. The hot tub was "hot" just like a hot tub should be. Our room was spacious and clean and lovely. The activities kept us busy but not crazy busy so it was perfect for us. The kids saw Santa and Mrs Claus and that night we got a light dusting. It must have been Santa bringing the snow from the North Pole. :) We all had a blast and my kids want to come back again. Not every vacation my kids like but this was special for all of us. We ate at Bella Vita almost every day except for Thanksgiving and the food was good. Thanksgiving dinner was great and the server Anthony was very attentive to us. Thank you Anthony. I would also like to thank Brandon at the front desk. He was awesome. He was very kind and helpful and was able to answer my numerous questions throughout our stay. Housekeeping was wonderful as well. The grounds were beautiful with the gorgeous waterview. The lobby area was beautifully decorated for Christmas. My husband was amazed on Saturday night to see all the stars. My kids enjoyed Build a Bear and s'mores nightly. My husband and I enjoyed the reception on night 1 and the open bar area for the Santa event. We plan on coming back for Thanksgiving 2022 and visit in summer 2023. The vacation was very peaceful for us- just what we needed. Thank you to everyone at the Sagamore for making this vacation an amazing, memorable vacation. From your friends in room 324.

We had been here before in the summer when our two children were younger. We chose the resort to celebrate the holiday with a fun schedule provided for all to enjoy, coupled with the strong reputation of delicious food and service. The staff could not have been nicer throughout our stay, even while practicing safe distance and wearing masks. We ate at Caldwell's for lunch and drinks one night, La Bella Vita breakfast and dinner, Mr. Browns for dinner and of course their grand Thanksgiving buffet with an amazing amount of food stations in all four corners and middle of the room with a 3 piece band for classic background music. All 4 of us had facials, Janice the Spa provider is exceptional and shared her 22 years there, she is an asset, they are lucky to have her. We saw the s’mores on the front terraces and the gingerbread house making was filled with families followed by photos with Santa and a tree lighting. Perhaps our favorite first impression was how well the entire property was elegantly decorated. We were more than pleased with this fun, historic location to accommodate our family. We spent Black Friday at the Lake George outlets, an easy 30 minute trip south, and stop at Helova Deli on the trip for made to order Boars Head sandwiches. Thank you for making our Sagamore Thanksgiving memorable!

I'm a local who spent YEARS enjoying drinks at the bar & eating at the restaurants...NOW paying for parking wipes that out...apparently not respectful of the local community., nor does management feels they need local business...

First week in October we spent Thursday-Sunday at the resort. Don’t get me wrong, the place is beautiful. Given the rates, however, the rooms are so ordinary. When we checked in, I asked about the special I had read about online before we arrived. Not a huge deal, but the front desk pretty much told me to forget it. He wasn’t even nice about it. Two nights in row, Friday and Saturday night, we had weddings right below our room…We could hear every lyric to every song….my husband complained, so front desk “discounted” our room and basically said, the music will end at 10 pm. No apology…for $700+ a night. Not to mention the bird problem on the deck…birds landing on the breakfast table. Great view…but bird droppings everywhere.

Dear Curiosity811403, We won't get you wrong and we sincerely thank you for staying with us and for the review! Your comments are appreciated and valued! I am sorry that our front desk was not more welcoming or accommodating. We will work on it for sure. For most it's not fun attending a wedding your not actually invited to. We do try very hard to place guests in appropriate rooms which is a challenge with room types, arrival dates, and our historic room layout. For any guest if you are not happy with your room please reach out. We are working on the birds and recognize that they are a nuisance. Thank you again and we look forward to your return! Regards, Tom Guay

Excellent property, beautiful views, amazing location. Visiting in October was just a bonus with all autumn colors around. Simply amazing. Shuttle service is great! I just wish that outdoor pool was open. Special kudos to the front desk two people , both Gregory’s ☺️. Received amazing customer service by both, great room with a beautiful view, information about the property and food recommendations. Both of them made true difference and showed what hospitality and high end customer service is about! We appreciate it very much!! Keep up the great work! Thank you!

Dear Belmapek, We will make sure the "Gregory's" see this review! Thank you for recognizing their efforts! This fall the weather has been amazing (it seemed like an extension of summer) and as a result the foliage has stayed with us for several more weeks than usual. Also the mums this year have been vibrant with the warm temperatures! We will continue to work hard for our guests and we thank you for choosing us! Sincerely, Tom Guay
