We were not told when we made our reservation that we could not go anywhere in the hotel with our dog! I knew we could not take him in a restaurant and in a pool. As soon as walked in we were asked to pay the $100 nightly pet fee (not $75 that is listed on the website) and then handed a gift-basket with a "Pet Policy" in it. The Pet Policy states: " Pets are not allowed in the following areas: Main Hotel, Restaurants, any location serving food or beverage, indoor and outdoor pools, spa, fitness center, golf course, recreation center, morgan boat, banquet spaces, island shuttles, beach and waterfront." We were gone for 3 weeks in Massachusetts and the Sagamore in New York. We had no problem finding restaurants that allowed us to dine at their outdoor restaurant. We looked forward to dining in the Sagamore restaurants. We normally dine well and The Sagamore offered $$$$ meals that we looked forward to. There is a small dog beach at Lake George but not at The Sagamore. We felt like prisoners. We never walked thru the hotel, down to the beach. We did not enjoy our visit there. We have a 10 pound dog. We dined in our hotel room from their "In-Room Dining" which offered 4 entrees of which only 2 appealed to us.

The Sagamore is a lovely classic hotel on the shore of Lake George in Bolton Landing. It is the perfect place to spend time enjoying all the hotel has to offer or simply relax by the pool, outdoors on the covered porch, or in front of the beautiful fireplace in the lobby. My stay at the Sagamore was awesome from start to finish. Everyone is well trained, courteous, and friendly throughout the hotel. Complimentary valet parking was a bonus, especially since we arrived during a rainstorm. It was a pleasure to check in and be warmly greeted with a smile. We received excellent service throughout the hotel during our stay. The grounds are maintained beautifully, and the lawns and flowers are lush. There are plenty of lounges by both the outdoor and indoor pools, and the gym has a variety of up-to-date equipment. There is a separate Rec Center with games, a rock-climbing wall, small indoor baseball diamond, and billiards table. There are tennis and pickle ball courts as well. The Sagamore also offers guests a complimentary one-hour boat tour of Lake George on the Morgan. Guests do not have to go far for breakfast or dinner. In La Bella Vita one may order off the menu or choose the breakfast buffet which has many of the same selections as the menu as well as made to order omelets. We also had a delicious dinner at La Bella Vita while enjoying the lovely view from the covered porch just outside the restaurant. This was my first time staying at the Sagamore; however, I am already looking forward to returning again.

This sagamore property is very well run as a true family resort. It was well staffed. With all of its amenities. That is no small feat. There was folk singers around the s’mores fire pit at dusk. Along with an ice cream social. A tour boat leaves three times a day from the property and gives a different tour each time with a bit of history narrated during each tour. They had a speaker one morning give a talk on the history of the property. My favorite amenity was the open fireplace in the grand lobby with a small fire going . Even in August this was an over the top charming . Feature for me .

Unfortunately my recent experience was unsatisfactory. When I arrived the hotel had no water. The toilets would not flush. Water was restored the following day but was undrinkable. I am sure this was an unforeseen occurrence but should have been disclosed at the time of check in and better communication as to repair should have been given throughout the day. In addition, an extra fee that was never disclosed appeared on my card a day after checkout. The accommodations were just okay and the food was palatable. The staff I encountered during my stay were wonderful and they are the reason I gave two stars rather than one.

Dear andreaseymour, I was sorry to see your review. The water issue we encountered was out of our control and town wide, but I agree that we could have been more transparent. I will review the response with our team to better ourselves for the future. I believe we can make a better impression on you and if you chose to return please contact me directly. Sincerely, Tom Guay

Service was very good. Rooms nicely appointed, bed linens fresh and crisp. Restaurants are limited post Labor day and are short staffed in the restaurants; not surprising in the post-Covid world . Despite that, the food was very good. We unfortunately hit the one day that the local town broke their water main which shut the water off to the hotel. The Hotel staff did their best but improvement in the response is needed. Bottled water was readily available at no cost, but offering some level of discount for the inconvenience of no running water at a $700-and up daily rate per room seems reasonable but - nothing was offered. Disappointed with that. Focused on the bottom line and not the customer.

Dear Roger E, I was delighted to see that you enjoyed our “Classic Upscale Adirondack” resort! I will be sure to commend the chef on a job well done in the restaurant this week. In regards to the water outage, I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. The town of Bolton Landing was working on the water main causing the issue. I thank you for recognizing the staff during the difficult time. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me as I am sure we can turn around a bad ending to a great future stay. Again, thank you for staying with us here at The Sagamore! We hope to see you again. Sincerely, Tom Guay

Had a wonderful stay at the resort! Such a beautiful hotel in an amazing location. We enjoyed a wonderful lake view from our room. You really feel like you are in your own little relaxing oasis. The staff was very friendly and attentive. There were plenty of options for things to do at the resort as well.

We stayed at The Sagamore at the end of July and got a great deal on a suite (non-refundable) in the historic main hotel, so you really have to be sure you can go. The Sagamore is pricey, there is no getting away from that. But what you get is impressive - three pools;, outdoor infinity pool, outdoor kiddy poll, indoor pool, and hot tub. And the view! A lake ride on The Morgan. And access to the lake, with plenty of seating and numerous tubes for a relaxing float on the lake. We hit all the restaurants on the property and had excellent meals. Our suite was comfortable with two queen beds and a pullout couch and all the amenities one would expect.

Room was very dated and also dark with insufficient lighting - it needed a serious maintenance day or two to fix the peeling wallpaper, sagging closet doors and scuffed paint throughout the room. Actually the entire hotel seemed to be in need of a facelift. This place represents itself as a luxurious upscale resort and when looking at the photos on the website you see only adults in glamorous relaxing settings. The reality? Not so much as there seemed to be thousands of children there. This would be absolutely OK if they represented the place as a family and child oriented hotel but that is not the case. The food they claim to be "world class" was average at best.

We pride ourselves in having an Adirondack feel in our rooms, but I am sorry we missed the mark. In regards to the food, I am sorry you found it to be less than desirable. I will be sharing this review with my entire team. It is reviews like this that help us improve for the future. If you wish to speak with me about your past stay, please reach out at 518-743-6150. Had a great stay at the resort over Labor Day Weekend. The property is beautiful and the amenities are great. The resort was at full capacity for much of the weekend. Here are some tips if you find yourself at a full capacity weekend also: 1. Try to hit breakfast before 9:30. I found that it was much busier after then. 2. Speaking of breakfast, highly recommend the buffet. It was not as pricey as buffets in comparable resorts and was tasty and well stocked. 3. Skip the steakhouse at the golf course. Not worth the $$$ and seemed like it was further away than expected. 4. This place is a FAMILY resort and there will be kids everywhere. If you want quiet, try the chairs near where The Morgan is docked or the chairs on the water right near the Pavilion restaurant. 5. If you can, book a suite with the water view and balcony. We used it a ton during the afternoons and evenings to wind down. 6. We loved Brown's pub during the evening. The bartender, Gregory, was the best! It is a great spot for watching sports. 7. If you want to really experience the lake, consider taking a tour on The Morgan at different times (10, 12, 2). Each time has a different route and narration. 8. Don't miss the free ice cream at 3:30. The line may look long- but it goes really fast. 9. Take advantage of the shuttle to go into town at least once. It is not a HUGE town - but there are some nice restaurants for lunch and some cute shops. 10. When it is time to leave, get out by 8:30 or 9:00 if you can - particularly on Sundays or the end of the holiday weekend. Beyond that can be a zoo. Again, loved our trip and will be back!!!!

We loved our weekend at The Sagamore Resort and will definitely be back! We travelled as a family Of 5 plus our puppy. From the lodge suite to the pool area, everything was gorgeous and exceeded our expectations. The kids loved swimming at the pool and lake, fishing on the docks, the activities center, the pizza and so much more! The parents enjoyed cocktails by the pool, walking the puppy on the nature trail, and enjoying the fireworks!
