My brother and his wife have visited the Blue Mountain Lake area for years and for the last few years have spent time at The Hedges. This year, we were able to join them. We stayed in The Coop, located right in the middle of the grounds. The cabin was clean, comfortable, quiet. We spent our days hiking to Castle... More

We have been here several times, as a couple and as large groups, and have always had a fantastic time. The food and service are outstanding. The setting is beautiful. You can be as active or as relaxed as you wish.

A perfect spot to recall your childhood camp experience -- peacefully nestled along the banks of one of New York State's most beautiful lakes. The accommodations are more than adequate, the food is good and the staff is one of the friendliest and most helpful that we have ever encountered. There are plenty of activities on or near the premises... More

One of our absolute favorite vacation spots. Rustic, but clean and comfortable with meals provided. Very friendly, helpful staff. Lots to do if we feel like being active: refreshing clear water swimming, kayaking and canoeing (boats provided), hiking, tennis, practicing "ring toss," game room with ping pong. But also conducive to relaxing on the shores of beautiful Blue Mountain Lake:... More

We spent a few days here and would definitely recommended it. It was our first trip, but it seemed everyone else there had been coming for years. The rooms are not fancy, but pleasant and comfortable. The dining hall, food and service were great. The only slight drawback was that they do have quite a few rooms and cabins scattered... More

I love the Blue Mountain Lake area as it reflects the true Adirondacks. The Hedges is the perfect place to stay. No need to move your car once you arrive. Canoes and kayaks ready to use. Decent food for breakfast and dinner. Clear refreshing water for swimming, tennis, walking trails, etc.. Stars, perfect stargazing. They have evening entertainment. Low key... More

If you are planning a trip to the Adirondacks; To the Blue Mountain Lake/Saranac Lake area, The Hedges is the best and most authentic place to stay. Right on the lake with beautiful views. Excellent food in their restaurant. Romantic atmosphere. A bit pricey but well worth it.

The Hedges is a virtually unique Adirondack experience. It’s lovely setting on beautiful Blue Mountain Lake makes simply sitting and looking at the lake and the surrounding mountains a large part of what makes it enjoyable. In addition to several sizes of individual cabins, rooms in the main lodge and surrounding buildings are very comfortable. We stayed in Stone Lodge,... More

While staying at Prospect Point Cottages in June, we made reservations to eat at The Hedges restaurant. The menu each night offers 3 choices (one is vegetarian). Your meal includes soup and/or salad, beverage, entree, and dessert. The dining room overlooks the lake with gorgeous views. The food was excellent! The staff was very friendly. During our week ,we dined... More

Beautiful setting, great food, great service....this is a great location for solo travelers, couples, older people or young families. You can be as active or lazy as you want. Cabins are not luxurious, but well-appointed and spacious (or at least our cabin, the Coop was spacious). We will be back.
