Gotta love this old school hotel bar. Dark, dingy, no TV's. The crowd is out on the verandah drinking the house drink "Porch Rockers", but we're at the small bar that seats 6 people drinking Dark 'N Stormies. It's our relaxation on the only night of an annual business trip. The bartender has now gotten to know us, and makes... More

We stayed 4 nights. Our room on the 2nd floor had a fan we put in the window plus opening the transom window and the window in the bathroom (corner room) so the temperature was ok but it was hot and humid the first 2 days. The rooms are charming or antiquated depending on your view. The claw foot tub... More

Style of hotel: Victorian, Downstairs has Bar, Parlor and Pretty Breakfast dining! Porch with rocking chairs. Beautiful View of Lake from Porch. BUT the Bedroom was severely out dated! Wall paper peeling off walls, no air conditioner (however aware of this at booking, but expected we could open a window) and it appeared dirty! Cost for 1 night $179. The... More

Was there today for breakfast. Food is great and service getting better from last time. When attempting to pay we knew they only take cash. We asked where t6hr atm was. We were told there wasn't one. We had to walk to the corner bar or market. So we had to pay $5 to withdrawal at the atm. We were... More

Charming, friendly and a beautiful location. I understand trying to keep the charm but needs some updating. The bathroom sinks leak, and the toilets have trouble flushing. The sheets on the bed were stained, which leaves a bad impression. That being said,, the room was comfortable even without air conditioning. Service in the hotel was very friendly. Breakfast was great,... More

The best thing about our stay was the breakfast. It was included in the $168 price. Food was very good. 64 steps to our room. No air conditioning. They provided box fans which were very dusty. Stained & un-swept carpet. Cobwebs and 2 live spiders. Wallpaper peeling. Rusty, dripping faucet. One outlet in the whole room. We did at least... More

The staff here is so nice and welcoming. The rooms are nothing to write home about but you must remember this place has been in operation for 139 years! Anyway, the room was clean and, with the window fan, quite comfortable. I think the most memorable thing is the 'all-you-can-eat' breakfast served to your table! It's very good too. Lastly,... More

The property has peeling paint, no air condition, no elevators, and no TV's. On a hot summer night, all that could be done was to open the window and point the one small floor fan directly towards the bed. The rooms have not had any upgrades in years and years. In addition, our room was not clean. The bathroom had... More

I have a soft spot for hotels like the Lenhart that have been around since the 1880's and are still run by founding families - the wide porch with rocking chairs, rooms with flowered wall paper and no televisions or phones. It's like spending a night in a museum with no air-conditioning or elevators. You wonder why the sink is... More

I chose to stay in the very economical top floor room with shared bath. The room was absolutely charming. Two windows facing the lake, Cabbage rose wallpaper and comfortable double bed. The bath, complete with claw foot tub was immaculate. Breakfast was ample and served by lovely young women working their way through school. You'll find a bio of your... More
