Great place that I found I had to stay in due to the early take off of the local bus back to New York. They only ran two buses and it would've meant leaving Bear Mountain after about an hour by the time I got there. It was lovely though. Really enjoyed my nights stay. Took a walk and was...

The view here is great. All the rooms have refrigerators, microwaves and coffeemakers. The room is spacious; the bedding comfortable. The drawback is there is no restaurant here. There is a free breakfast but it is at the Inn. Due to the location it is safer to drive there. The other issue was the $10, facility fee. I did not see...

We thought we would stay at the Inn itself, but we had a room at the Overlook Lodge quite some distance away, too far to walk so for dinner and breakfast one needed to go by car. We were asked if we would like a view on the lake and of course that would have been great but although the...

10 girls stayed at the Overlook Lodge and everyone was happen. This Lodge has a spectacular view. The rooms were exactly what you would expect for a State Park. The furnishings were woodsy themed which fit the area perfectly. The stone fireplace in the lobby was perfect for the chilly night. The help was friendly and knowledgeable. Other reviews complained...

We stayed at the Overlook Lodge and we hadn't realised when booking, that the Lodge is some distance away from Bear Mountain Inn. The Lodge has no reception nor any other staff on duty, its just a building with rooms and you are sort of left to your own devices. Breakfast is served at the Inn and we decided to...

Thank you Dani Shinuk for taking the time to post a review of our Overlook Lodge. We do understand your concerns with having a desk agent up at the Overlook lodge and it is under consideration for the future. We do have a desk phone available at the location and each room also has a phone to call a desk...

We requested a room (212) overlooking the lake. The trees obstruct the view. Might be okay when there are no leaves on the trees. However, the view is great from the common area and the back porch. Housekeeping issues: the carpet in the room could have been cleaner. The windows and carpets in the hallway were dirty.

Great lodge at Bear Mtn. 7 miles south of USMAC at West Point. A must see! Drive up Perkins Memorial Drive and see the Hudson River Valley, bridge, and NY skyline in the distance . They have a nice lake , small trailside zoo & museum. Nice lounge & restaurant plus gift shop also on premises. Wonderful place to stop,...

The room here was okay but the mattress was pretty lumpy. The maintenance on the room needed some help and it wasn't the cleanest I've ever stayed in. The balcony outside of the common area is nice and has a good view. Parking is easy and it's not far from the restaurant and bar.

We spent one night in the Bear Mountain Lodge.....it is just "okay". The carpets are old and dirty and the windows haven't been cleaned (on the outside) in years! Our room was large, with a King-sized bed, but only one night stand so you couldn't rest a glass of water or book anywhere on that side of the bed. Perhaps...

Nice little place nestled in the woods. It IS a little hard to locate, and you check In at another building Ask for water view Rooms are basic, but clean and comfortable. Restaurant and front desk are a couple of miles away, which is odd, but staff are friendly. Best place on the mountain!

Thanks for taking the time to post a review of Overlook Lodge. Due to the nature (no pun intended!) of our State Park location, I guess it does feel odd that we have several different types of buildings, but all are located around Hessian Lake which is 1.5 miles in circumference. Many guests choose Overlook Lodge because they love the...
