Its the perfect place for a weekday getaway during covid. I’m a healthcare worker from NYC feeling burnt out and beat up these days. This little inn was exactly what I needed. I stayed on the top floor near the lounge, solarium and roof top deck. Since it was mid week most times I was up there with no other guests around. The fire pit with blankets in the evening is nice touch as the weather can be chilly. If you can check out the sunset on the roof top deck the views of surrounding mountains were beautiful especially with all the fall foliage. My room had a little balcony nice for a little fresh air or privacy more of a luxury than a necessity as there is plenty of room up on the rooftop. The design of the room is really cozy it feels like you are in someone’s home with all the little details like books and ceramics. The only thing I would say is the queen bed is more of a full/queen I’m petite so I was fine but if you like more room pick the king room. I thought it was an exaggeration from another review but I counted 38 outlets in my room it’s some kind of quirk from the original designer so bring everything you ever wanted to plug it! I’m not going to lie I sat on that bench in the elevator more than once.
I was happy with the Covid policies there was an air purifier in the room, masks wearing by all guests/staff and social distancing.
The staff here is really great Axel, Megan at the front during the day and another woman there during the evening all friendly and so helpful!! I also had a massage with Melissa at the spa it was also wonderful so treat yourself! Nothing but praise for this little inn I would recommend. Beacon is pretty quiet during the week which I liked but very busy on weekends lots of cute shops to browse and good eats.

Thank you for your charming review and for your hard work as a health care worker during all of this! We are so happy you were able to take a break with us during such a beautiful weekend. We put a lot of work into redesigning and its always nice to hear when it's appreciated. All of our rooms were designed with the intention of potentially being converted into Spa Treatment rooms hence the many outlets. Check out our redesigned Thermotherapy Spa on your next stay! P.S. Meghan and I are flattered :)

We spent a couple of weekday nights at the inn for a change of scenery. Highly recommend - the staff members (shout out to Shauna) were so friendly and helpful in making the stay nice and providing various recommendations. The room (standard king) was spacious, the bed super comfortable, and we really enjoyed using the private spa at night. I saw a previous review mentioned limited cable - our room had a TV with all streaming services which was great considering Beacon is a bit of a sleepy town during the week, especially during winter. The lobby also had a bunch of board games for guests.

From a COVID perspective, we felt safe & comfortable - we rarely (if ever) saw any other guests/staff outside of the main desk and masks were worn in all common spaces. The room also had a free standing air filter, not sure if that is standard or not, but generally added to the room feeling fresh and clean. Will definitely return!

Thank you for your thoughtful review. We are as dedicated to guest safety as we are to guest experience. Shauna is a total rock star, we're happy you noticed! We are thrilled to know you had a relaxing getaway with us. We have added Roku streaming devices to all of our rooms and encourage our guests to spend some quality time in the solarium with our collection of board games. You'll have to come back when the weather is warmer to fully experience our rooftop lounge! We'd love to see you again.

My wife took me to Beacon for my birthday. We needed to get away from stress in NYC. From the moment we arrived, the staff at the Inn put on a hospitality clinic. We were welcomed, charmed, given information, offered a hot drink, invited to hang out in their luxurious, comfortable fourth floor living room area while our room was readied. We booked the Camping room, the room modeled as an amalgam of camping kitsch, with bunk beds, antlers on the wall, antlers in the chandelier, a magnetic dartboard, a fake camp-site fireplace, ski-lodge paraphernalia on the walls. So charming, so delightful, warm, compact, cozy. The roof deck is pretty, great views, fun fire pit. We used the thermal therapy room one night: so comfortable. Then we booked a couples massage with two local pros, Haylee and Alana. And we know our massage, having been professional LMTs oursevles for a decade. So good, so skilled, so professional.

The location is great too: right on Main street, which has many options for dining and shopping. Short walk from DiA, the art museum, which is worth a look. Close to the train. Just a great spot, easy to find.

But the real Rock Star here is Shauna, who as far as we can tell does EVERYTHING there. She was kind, charming, friendly, helpful, speedy, can't say enough good things about her. We are already planning to go back again. It's so easy to get there without a car - Metro North to Beacon, short slog up a hill and bam you're there. Loved it. So happy.

Dear S481VJchristophers, Thank you for your glowing review! We are ecstatic to know you enjoyed our Camp Beacon Bunk, it was a lot of fun designing that room! We take great pride in the skill in service our therapists provide, they are truly some of the best in the area. We're happy to hear that you understand why we keep Shauna around... she is EXCEPTIONAL at her job and here to stay. Beacon really has so much to offer, there's plenty more to discover on your next visit! We look forward to it.

Staff is very pleasant and friendly, helped us with local recommendations for dog friendly restaurants and bars during this time of COVID-19. They even remembered our dogs name and greeted him! Fourth floor solarium was nice to sit by the fire and listen to music and outdoor fire pit was nice as well. Great location on Main street. We took some of the boardgames provided in the lobby to play in our room one night. Very clean accomodations.

Only drawback is pet friendly room doesn't have a window only frosted glass and selection of cable stations is limited. Would definitely stay again and try some of the spa treatments when we come back to Beacon.

Dear Kristinp2014, Thank you for your 4 star review! It was such a delight having you and your beautiful pup with us! We love having furry friends visit. We're happy to know you were able to have some classic fun with our provided games in place of TV. We are working toward equipping all of our rooms with streaming services so you can fall asleep to The Office on your next visit. We hope to bring your next stay up to a 5 star review!

A wonderful quaint boutique hotel on Main Street near stores and restaurants. Service was terrific. The room was very nice. This is a little gem of a hotel with an outdoor deck on the 4th floor with a fire pit. There is a public parking lot across the street or you can park on the street. Very nice experience.

Come visit the quaint town of Beacon with it's fabulous vintage shops, great restaurants and quirky coffee shops. Loving the revamp of the Inn, making it the perfect boutique hotel for a charming overnight stay! Axel at the front desk was a doll!We are all trying to take advantage of the beautiful fall weather before we are stuck indoors. So,it was nice to relax on the beautiful rooftop sitting around the firepit with a glass of wine. Perfect location on Main Street, your adventure awaits just steps outside the beautifully decorated lobby!Romance was in the air as a couple staying there just got engaged and a newly married couple checked in when I was sitting in the lobby. I was there visiting a friend, but it gave me hope that maybe I'll be next😉Definitely check this place out, you won't be disappointed!❤

I come to beacon often but I stayed at the Inn and Spa for the first time this weekend. I accidentally left my card key in my room and I was unable to enter the hotel when I returned after a night out. The door was locked I saw no one at the front desk. There was supposedly a sign post stating " “Hotel Guests Use Key Card For Entry Late Arrivals Or For Information Please Contact 845.205.2900". Not only did I not see this sign but to me it doesn't make it clear that someone would answer even though I saw no one at the phones. After sometime had passed I called an uber and stayed at friends house. Very embarrassing moment.

The next day I took another uber to return to hotel in the morning to get my belongings. I told the person at the front desk and they said they would like into it. I never heard back. I wrote a review here and still heard nothing back. I heard back from them on a review from hotel.com and they said they would look into and and they apologized. I called 3 more times and nothing. Today I got a email from the manager with $100 refund offer. When I said this not acceptable since the hotel cost me $300 a night and $75 in uber fees and I would write an additional review they threatened legal action against me (i changed my review from 2 stars to 1 star). Please see the email from the manager below.

Recently had the pleasure of two stays at the Dutchess Inn and Spa. Bethany, the owner, was personally available when I had a question, and because it’s a small boutique hotel, they have a system to accommodate guests in case the staff are assisting other guests and have had to step away from the desk: a phone number is available that links directly to a staff member. It’s a quaint and extremely convenient spot from which to explore Beacon. Rooms are all different and eclectically decorated with vintage pieces and artistic touches. Altogether a unique experience that felt like a community and luxury hotel in one.

I have stayed in this hotel previously and liked it very much. Unfortunately, this time the room was in the basement, smelled of mold and had water damage to the moldings in the shower. On top of this, it was twice as expensive as what we paid in 2021. I did call about the cost but was told that is the rate. Nothing could be done. I also spoke to the front desk about the mold smell and the water damage and was told someone would look into it. We left before we ever heard back. I did write a letter several weeks back about my concerns, but no response. Won't stay here again. Not worth the price. James L.

The same day I booked a weekend stay (at full price) I found out my partner had a death in the family. I called the hotel shortly thereafter to ask if I could reschedule. I did not ask for a refund, just a credit for a future stay. Ultimately, I was told that are no 'changes under any circumstances.'

To receive such a response, at any time, is a hard pill to swallow. Where is the compassion? The response is extremely apathetic and screams of greed. This is the last thing I need to be thinking about during a difficult time.

It is my hope that the $700+ you collected is put to use on a course that teaches management how to be kind human beings.

Be better.
