My wife Joanna and I stayed at the Botsford Briar for three nights and our only complaint is that we didn't have time to spend a fourth. The experience was truly magical. The property is charming and a walking distance from both the train station and downtown Beacon, so there was no need for a car. Our room, the Magnolia... More

My boyfriend and I stayed there a week ago and all I can say...it's in need of a complete over haul. Dirty in places, falling apart, and not inviting. We were traveling upstate for a week and staying in B&B's along the way, this place unfortunately was our only bad experience. The bed was comfortable but that's it. The common... More

Everything Jane wrote was how I felt When we arrived it was 98 degrees and humid and the house is not air conditioned - they have old window AC units one of which in our room was turned on minutes before we arrived - needles to say it was stifling in our room the first night The pictures used on... Upon our arrival at Botsford Briar we were greeted by the friendly Charles who immediately warned us about the “sink hole” in the yard my husband was about to step into. It is hard for me to believe the Trip-Advisor travelers who gave Botsford Briar an excellent actually stayed there. The place is a dump. No wall inside or out... More

Came up for a short weekend in Beacon and couldn't have asked for much more in terms of location. We drove but this B&B is walking distance from the train stop - and an easy walk to Main Street and Dia Beacon. Hosts were friendly and full of suggestions. We stayed in the Wisteria room - nice deck overlooking the... More

We stayed for the weekend at Botsford Briar in the Rose Room. It was a great experience...the inn keepers were very warm and helpful. The room was clean, quaint, and spacious. The inn and grounds are very well-kept. The location is within walking distance Main Street. The breakfast is simple and fresh delivered right to your door. Great get-away from... More

We stayed at Botsford Briar for three nights (in the Magnolia Room) and it was a one of a kind experience that I will not forget. Although I have been on a number of day trips to Beacon prior to this extended visit, staying at this inn has given me a brand new perspective on the town and the region.... More

If you need rest and relaxation and an escape from the city, look no further. The innkeepers were incredibly friendly and helpful. We took all their recommendations. Everything you would want to do was in walking distance. We will definitely be returning. The Magnolia room was quiet, clean and secluded. Sunset was amazing.

We were travelling by train and needed a B & B close to Dia:Beacon Art Museum and this was great. We ain't kids anymore, so we had to take a taxi from the train station, though it also isn't a bad walk (15 min.) if you don't mind hills. Though it was cold, it wasn't a bad walk (some hills,... We were greeted by Charles ,a really nice man, who seems to do just about everything here but only nearly completing his various and numerous tasks . As we entered the house it felt very dark and quite eerie, rather like a gothic movie set. So much is unfinished between their two properties, the guest house suffers as a consequence.... More
