I travel frequently and typically choose hotels and motels that have lower prices. But this was the worst of the worst that I’ve ever seen. When we arrived, I noticed a lot of suspicious looking characters walking around the neighborhood. It was in a bad part of town. We were there for a funeral, so we didn’t really know the area well. The front desk people are behind glass/plexiglass, to give you an idea. Our room was filthy. There was dirt on the floor. You could hear it as you walked. Dirty marks on the doors and walls. And the worst were the huge stains going up the entire length of the bed skirt. I noticed it as my young daughters legs were up against it. Yuck!!! It just didn’t sit well with me. And the door locks were old and didn’t feel safe. After we brought our bags in, we left to go out to dinner. I started to realize I couldn’t bring myself to sleep in that bed or feel safe. I asked the waitress about the motel and area and she said not to leave the room once the sun went down. Then we got some ice cream and I asked the locals and they had the same response. It was just myself and my young daughter and between the gross room and safety issues I knew I needed to leave. The front desk guy was so rude. I told him I didn’t feel safe and needed to leave. I told him the room was dirty. He first accused me of lying. Then he accused us of taking a nap in there and wanting to check out bc we no longer needed the room. I had to argue w him for a good 20 minuets. He told me to never come back. No problem there! And told me to tell all of my friends to never go either. So there you go. We got out of there so quickly. We drove 10 min down the road. Paid $100 more than there and went to a beautiful hotel where people were kind, respectful and professional.

The Travelodge is a good place to stay when you're on a budget and want a clean room centrally located by the hospital and shopping. I have been here several weeks and know the pros and cons. The biggest asset to this Motel is the manager Nick. He goes out of his way to help you with any situation that you desire. He truly bends over backwards to assist you and make your stay as pleasant as possible.

Sheets do not appear to be properly washed. Door lock from the inside on rm 101 was not locking as it should. Sheets were dragging on floor and edges were frayed. Rooms need thorough cleaning and sheets changed after each guests depart. If the sheets were changed they weren’t as white as they should be.

They are misleading when you google this place looking for a pet-friendly hotel, this comes up. I had my cat with me and was visiting Fire Island for a few days. When I arrived with him there is a sign at the front desk saying NO PETS. But it clearly says pet-friendly when you use google filter. They need to update this. The staff didn’t apologize for the inconvenience either.

Hotel looks average on the outside. It definitely has potential. We stayed here to save money because our son was in Long Island for a baseball tournament. Breakfast area was small and dirty. Dried up pancake left all over counter and area was not swept. Decided as I was checking in that we were not eating here. Our room had 2 double beds, comforters definitely were very old. Bathroom was dusty and toilet and sink not clean. I brought my own Clorox wipes and cleaned the toilet and sink and wiped down everything. Bed was uncomfortable, mattress terrible, old towels that were very faded and rough. Would not stay here again.
