A perfect touch down place for those looking to enjoy the waterfront/marina or stroll through town. Comfortable, relaxing and completely charming. The rooms are spacious and the common spaces available to enjoy a glass of wine or get some work done. Lovely front porch.

Stay here! Gorgeous home, impeccable renovation, comfy king bed and a FABU bathroom. Colleen is an amazing chef and made us right at home. And super close to Nicky’s Clam Bar for the best lobster roll ever!

On our recent visit to central Long Island we were so happy to find this beautiful B&B on the harbor in Bay Shore. The house is an old victorian which has been completely renovated and backs up to a marina where you have wonderful views of the water and docked boats. Very clean, bright and airy. So you are probably asking why not a 5 star rating. When we arrived, there was no one to greet us.. I received a text that they had to leave and they gave us our room code. The owners name and phone number written on a piece of paper and taped to the front door. I did not see the owner for the first two days. In the morning there were two people making breakfast, not much conversation or attention to the guests. After that, the entire house was quiet. All day and all night. When the owner did arrive she was very friendly and helpful... but the house was empty at night with no staff to be found. I woke up at 5am and went down for some coffee.. The house was completely quiet and I noticed the front door was unlocked. The same thing the next morning at 4:30 am.. Was this door unlocked all night. Also, we stayed at the Inn for 5 nights. The bed was made and we were given clean bath towels each day, but the bedroom and bathroom floors were never vacuumed, and the bathroom sink/bath were never cleaned. Yes the house is beautiful, clean and updated, but the service was not what I have experienced at other B&B's. I guess this is the new generation of e-hotels.

Thank you so much for your business. To address your comments and concerns; Yes, we are not there 24/7 but we are there most of the time. Just because you do not see us, does not mean we are not around. We do not have coffee ready at 5 am, usually coffee at 8, unless you arrange it with us. We can accommodate everyone who needs breakfast early because we do have guests traveling for business. Yes, the house is quiet but that is the point. During your stay, we had a full house. One of the two people making you breakfast, was the owner. I will speak with housekeeping and tell them to be more conscientious, in the details. We have a strict security system, with camera's. Guests move around the house and not always lock the doors. The most important door to lock is your room door. We appreciate your comments and will work harder to make future stays, perfect.

We were were scheduled to attend a celebration on Main Street in Bay Shore. Finding a close by location was a high priority. Being within walking distance to all the local pubs and restaurants on Main Street, Ocean Bay House certainly filled that requirement. Staff are friendly and very helpful, We stayed in the East End bedroom. Room had a good view of the pool and boats parked in their slips. The room was very nicely furnished. It had a small fridge that came in handy also. Not much privacy in the bathroom as there are no window coverings on the 3 panel glass window. Didn't bother me or my wife much but I could see that it could be a concern for some. Air conditioning worked excellent, and in August, that is a good thing. Downstairs is lovely with beautiful furnishings, beautiful wood floors. The large deck porch facing Ocean Ave is a great place to sit and relax. There is also a small deck porch in the backyard as well. Breakfast was very nice, highly recommend you do not miss it. We did not use the pool but it looked very nice. If you are attending a BSHS Reunion which are often held at Captain Bills, this is a must stay due to the great location. We will definitely reserve a room at this location in the future.
