We live locally to Hartwell House, and often go for a treat - either a lunch, evening meal or cream tea. Always special, amazing decor and exquisite service. The food is delicious and in the summer, you can have coffee on the lawn which is very relaxing and feels a world away from everyday life.

Absolutely love this hotel. My wife and I have been here a number of times to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries. It's like going back in time to a more relaxed and quiet time. The staff are attentive and the rooms and food are amazing and great value. Will definitely be back very soon.

A few days ago I took a group from our Probus club for afternoon tea, coffee, and homemade cookies. Not only was the tea excellent and the coffee and the cookies but the grounds and the views inside the house are as good as you will see anywhere and what more you will experience the service second to none. Stayed on business recently for two nights, probably not the best business hotel as it's quite formal and restricted ie breakfast served from 7.30 but it's a beautiful hotel, good service and a fantastic setting. Would definitely come back but probably for a weekend rather than business.

Very comfortable relaxed hotel with excellent restaurant and fine wine list The best part of the whole experience were the staff though who were unfailing polite helpful and yet not too formal. The grounds are lovely, a real haven of peace and tranquility.

This is such an incredible place - the grounds are beautifully landscaped with a sense of endless space - you really do feel you are in the middle of nowhere The hotel facade has simplicity symmetry and elegance with uncluttered pristine surroundings The hotel is richly and appropriately decorated but unlike a lot of grand houses it is no museum... Wow. That sums it up. I booked a suite for my daughter's wedding so we could all get ready before going to the local venue and the bride and groom could have their wedding night somewhere historic and beautiful. They very kindly arranged for us to check in a few hours early which was a huge help. I cannot praise... More

Brought my mother-in-law here for a birthday treat and what a treat it was. We used to be local to Hartwell House but moved away many years ago so we were delighted to discover on our return that the hotel remains the oasis of peace, serenity and effortless good service that we remember so well. This is a grand country... More

I booked 3 nights and stayed 3 because it was so nice. Beautiful grounds and buildings, extremely clean, the style is very Downton Abbey : refined classic British. Bed was comfy, room was big ( in the main house), spa was spotless with a super nice patio to soak up the sun. I must dmit that the food was a... More
