Excellent hotel with excellent food and service. Staying here is like living in a stately home with majestic rooms, personal service, an exquisite bedroom and best of all a library to read and take tea in. We loved it.

Old fashioned long lunch experience. Start with drinks and nibbles in the library whist browsing the menu and placing the order. Move to the main restaurant for a delicious lunch in comfortable, unpretentious surroundings. Great way to spend a Saturday lunch, and very reasonably priced

One night stay (room 22) with dinner to celebrate a birthday. So much of Hartwell House was perfect that I feel rather mean in not giving the full five stars but a star is lost because our room, which was otherwise splendid with a great view of the grounds and all the amenities you would expect, was baking hot and...

Beautifull venue with fantastic staff where nothing is too much trouble, they told us all about the houses great history. The rooms , grounds and estate is breathtaking and food was delicious. Very traditional but fits the place..it's no modern hotel, but grand, elegant and great customer service.

Hartwell isn't far away so we go there from time to time for lunch and have stayed there a couple of times before. This was another overnight stay - long celebration lunch, drinks in the evening and staying in one of the corner rooms, Duchesse d'Angouleme. The whole experience was great, as were the staff from the welcome on arrival...

I stayed in one of the royal rooms and the experience was incredible. Being able to experience the Jane Austen/Downton Abbey life was so much fun. The staff were delightful, the public rooms were stunning, the spa was a delight, and the bedroom was the most luxurious time imaginable. I highly recommend it.

Very well looked after by the attentive staff. Dining room and general ambience of Hartwell House has an olde world charm. Range of lunch options ranging from £25 per head upwards for two course meal without drinks. Food very good and definitely worth a visit, probably need to book. Recommended
