Geronimo Trail Guest Ranch is a real western adventure! Horseback riding or hiking takes guests through open meadows, tall ponderosa forests, up on high hills where the views go on forever, and down into deep canyons with sheer cliffs and crystal clear streams. From the "Top of the World" guests can view the 3.3 million acre Gila National Forest, Aldo Leopold and Gila Wildernesses. Elk, mule deer, wild turkey, javelina and other wildlife abound. Pit houses, Cliff Dwellings, and Pictographs (rock art) of the earliest inhabitants, the Mimbres (750-1150 AD) to explore in the immediate vicinity. This is the land Geronimo and the Apaches roamed. Outstanding gentle and responsive horses for every ability. Comfortable, attractive accommodations, warm hospitality, relaxed atmosphere, great food. Come enjoy the peace and quiet at our small ranch!

We just returned from 4 days at GTGR. It was a wonderful experience and I would return in a heart beat. Lovely/comfortable cabins, small/intimate atmosphere, beautiful/well cared/ well loved for horses, and amazing trail rides through the Gila. I forget to mention the food!

Driving off the beaten path was well worth the trip to GTGR. 3 elk and a bald eagle greeted us by Wall Lake on the last mile to the ranch. The horses were cute and sweet and could be viewed from our cabin windows. Horse tv was all the entertainment we needed. Staff was super

If you want to ride all day in stunning scenery -- rugged bluffs, narrow canyons, and flower filled meadows -- this is the place. Geronimo offers all-day picnic rides full of history and beauty on well-cared-for horses. The meals are excellent -- great food and lots of it.

I stayed there five days. It was wonderful. The horses and the surrounding mountains and surprise cliff dwelling sights were spectacular. The rides were customized to your own requests. I was a more leisurely rider.. (two hours at a stretch) … then lunch in the mountains …
