Travelers' Choice
The Roadrunner Lodge Motel is a fabulous retro-boutique 1960s motel decked out in mid-century style located directly on historic Route 66. This motel offers period accommodations with a few modern amenities including premium bedding, plush towels, fast Wi-Fi internet, and satellite channels on HDTVs. If the weather is right, bring a drink out to the ball o'fire in the yard and share your road trip experiences in the company of our guests from around the country and around the world. Ask for our lawn bowling set or other outdoor games or just listen to our 1960s radio station complete with music and commercials from the time. Our guest rooms are a bit smaller than new facilities and do NOT have coffee makers, refrigerators, or microwaves in them. These amenities are available in our lobby and in our shared courtesy room.

We had a great stay at the Road Runner. Our room was crystal clean and very nicely decorated. The bed was very comfy and the TV had great Chanel’s. The outside was decorated nicely and everything was quite clean. Lots of restaurants within walking distance.

Hotel's Favorite
What a delight. We opted for a Snazzy 60s room and were greeted with '60s-era radio sounds and treats for our dog when we entered our room. Accommodations were spotless, and the hotel has a simple no-contact way of checking in. The fenced dog run was perfect for our dog to blow off some steam after a very long day in the car. You can tell the proprietors love this property, from the small flourishes to the overall vibe. Will definitely stay here again on our next road trip across the country. Oh - and don't miss the Magic Fingers. I thought this was likely a cutesy gimmick, but after hours behind the wheel, the light vibration of the bed was really soothing.

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us. We only have ONE Snazzy 60s room that is 🐶 friendly, so always call us in advance to reserve it for you and your pooch. We are so glad you chose to stay with us, and we look forward to your return. While all our rooms have a mid-century flair, we have an extremely limited number of our "Snazzy 60s" rooms with the Magic Fingers™ massaging beds, as well as a few other features that make the experience a little bit more over-the-top for only a few dollars more. If you are on Route 66 either on purpose or by chance, whether as a tourist or a traveler, we think it makes sense to go ahead and make the most of the opportunity. Safe travels!

Many of our road trips seem to include a stop in Tucumcari. On the way back from Sedona we stopped once again at one of our favorite vintage Route 66 motels (following all safety protocols - one of a handful doing that), the Roadrunner Lodge Motel. The Swinging Sixties room decor even included a “Mountain View”! The owner is very friendly and focused on making each traveler feel safe and secure.

Traveling in our RV, we came across this place when it came time to pull off for the night, with our 9 pound little dog. So the pet friendly was a huge attraction! Owners very nice! And the rooms are clean and have that 60’s style. Even have 60’s music playing when you walk into room. They leave your dog a dog bowl and treats.

Not just pet friendly, but pet welcoming and people friendly! Clean and awesomely cute, especially if you seek that 60's vibe and the Route 66 experience without sacrificing anything. Staff is really helpful. Would definitely recommend and stay again.
