Travelers' Choice
The Roadrunner Lodge Motel is a fabulous retro-boutique 1960s motel decked out in mid-century style located directly on historic Route 66. This motel offers period accommodations with a few modern amenities including premium bedding, plush towels, fast Wi-Fi internet, and satellite channels on HDTVs. If the weather is right, bring a drink out to the ball o'fire in the yard and share your road trip experiences in the company of our guests from around the country and around the world. Ask for our lawn bowling set or other outdoor games or just listen to our 1960s radio station complete with music and commercials from the time. Our guest rooms are a bit smaller than new facilities and do NOT have coffee makers, refrigerators, or microwaves in them. These amenities are available in our lobby and in our shared courtesy room.

A wonderful place to stay on your way through New Mexico. We absolutely loved the theme, the room was clean, the bed was comfy and they went far above and beyond for our dog, much more than any other motel has ever done for us before. Loved it.

Thank you for reviewing your stay with us. Keep coming back and the experience will shift as we upgrade our style to the Tiki craze of the late 50s and early 60s. Safe travels!

Hotel's Favorite
What a delight. We opted for a Snazzy 60s room and were greeted with '60s-era radio sounds and treats for our dog when we entered our room. Accommodations were spotless, and the hotel has a simple no-contact way of checking in. The fenced dog run was perfect for our dog to blow off some steam after a very long day in the car. You can tell the proprietors love this property, from the small flourishes to the overall vibe. Will definitely stay here again on our next road trip across the country. Oh - and don't miss the Magic Fingers. I thought this was likely a cutesy gimmick, but after hours behind the wheel, the light vibration of the bed was really soothing.

Room Tip: Go for the Snazzy 60s option if you can, and bring quarters for the Magic Fingers.

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us. We only have ONE Snazzy 60s room that is 🐶 friendly, so always call us in advance to reserve it for you and your pooch. We are so glad you chose to stay with us, and we look forward to your return. While all our rooms have a mid-century flair, we have an extremely limited number of our "Snazzy 60s" rooms with the Magic Fingers™ massaging beds, as well as a few other features that make the experience a little bit more over-the-top for only a few dollars more. If you are on Route 66 either on purpose or by chance, whether as a tourist or a traveler, we think it makes sense to go ahead and make the most of the opportunity. Safe travels!

I've stayed at the Roadrunner Lodge many times over the years and watched it grow. David and Amanda are wonderful hosts and their hotel is beautiful and comfortable. Their deluxe "Snazzy Sixties" rooms are well worth it if you want that extra touch of Mid Century Modern, but their standard rooms are just as comfortable. Before you arrive they will have your room lit up, blinds open, 60's music playing, ready to welcome you in. It's a great place to stay if you love vintage, and still great even if you don't care about that and just want a comfortable place to stay.

Thank you, Matthew. It's always a pleasure to see you with or without any of your family. I learned more than I would have imagined about my Rambler and it's factory upgrades from your parents a few years ago. Perhaps we'll see one or more of *your* vehicles in a Tucumcari car show someday. Safe travels!

We drove up to find our room already lit up with softly playing music (of the 60s of course). This is an old but very nicely updated motel. Bathroom is white and clean--no sign of mold. Everything thoughtfully brought into the needs of 2021 travelers. For example, 2 electrical outlets each side of the bed. I would go out of my way to drive Hwy 66 through Tucumcari just to stay another night at the Roadrunner Lodge.

Hello Jan, thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us. We've kept the mid-century style fully alive in spite of some of the modern requirements of today's traveler 😉. We hope to see you on a future trip to Tucumcari. Safe travels!

Very clean, very quiet. unfortunately we used BOOKING.COM. We have a dog we traveled 11 hours to stay here. BOOKING.COM never relayed the info to the hotel. We could have received a more reasonable rate if we booked directly through the hotel. Because we used third party, we ran into a nightmare in the middle of unfamiliar territory, because our dog like most dog lovers is another child to us. The owner of this property allowed us to stay we thank him for that. BOKING.COM I truly hope people stop using third party for booking they are dishonest the charge more and they take away all discounts that could be applied. Then hide behind the internet never actually facing irate customers because they lie, and mislead to customers the truly could care less about.

We are glad we were able to work with your circumstances. As you've noted, we require travelers who have booked a room with us through a third party site to contact us and ensure we have an appropriate room for their furry friends. This is much easier to check on *our* website where one can directly select a pet friendly room and tell us your pooch's name, too! Booking.com is an important reservation partner for us but it's true they are sometimes difficult to work with from both the property and traveler perspectives.
