Excellent hospitality, room, pool and laundry room. Clean, comfortable and good breakfast. All you need on the road and very reasonably priced, thanks for an excellent stopover on our Route 66 Road Trip 👍😎 Thanks for your advice on our next stop, the Grand Canyon

Four of us had two reservations for one night. The check in lady was very helpful, as we had an issue with one of the rooms (bathtub was leaking a lot). We had to ask and walk down to get an iron and board(none in the rooms). But that was okay as they worked fine, as the rooms are fairly small ( the bathroom is almost as large as the rest of the room). Breakfast was hard boiled eggs, waffle maker, bagels, little muffins, misc oatmeal packs, etc. It was sufficient, it’s just that they did not do a good job keeping everything full. It seemed like they waited for everything to run down before they started refilling. If I came through again, I would book somewhere else.

The management is terrible here! Me and my family have been staying here for years even when it was microtel inn. We booked a bottom room and was told it was $10 more because they were larger and newly renovated. Upon check in they put us upstairs and would not credit us for the different price or cancel the reservation and rebook us for what we wanted. The manager cece I believe her name was completely rude. We won’t be returning

Very nice staff, room was very very small and smelled bad, had to buy febreze to freshen room. Bed wasn't very comfortable but was clean. Air conditioning was good. Lights in bathroom was annoying sound with the fan. Outdoor lights lit up room all night even with window shades down. Pillows were tiny. Wasn't terrible but not the best motel by far.

Driving 4 days back to Iowa. Picked this hotel as price was great and much lower then all the next door chains. The manager let me see the room first. It was not fancy, but plenty good for 7-8 hours of sleep to get up and leave again. It ended up being very quiet, which was what I was worried about, but other guests were further away and quiet I guess. There were only drinks in the morning, but that was because of Covid. I had brought all my own cleaning supplies for hotel stops and was pleasantly surprised that I could not find any dirt in my room, including the tv control. (I had stayed at a chain the night before double the price and the first thing I sanitized was the TV control which I got all kinds of dark black muck off of it.) So this was a pleasant surprise here that everything was clean. Will stay again if on that road.

Got me out of a hard situation and made it quick and easy. My van broke down here in town totally unexpectedly. He was very accommodating and made the stress of the situation I was in easier. They also are pet friendly here. Helped me and my dog stay warm for a couple nights while we figured out our best options to keep moving down the road. Very happy with the service as well as the clean rooms. Bryan Sloan even offered food from his own pocket wondering if we might be hungry. This was amazing even though we didn’t need it, he made sure we were comfortable in our situation. It was a blessing to run into the desert inn and meet Brian Sloan. As he was helping us he was also helping guests, without making us feel invisible. He would multi task like I never could, and I respect that he made sure we still felt payed attention to. If I was to run a business I would hire Brian sloan as soon as possible if available for any customer service or greetings. He’s a certain kind of soul you don’t run into often, but makes you feel at home, or as if you have known him forever. These kind of people don’t come around everyday, and I appreciate the hospitality and his presence under the circumstances that I was befallen. If you’re ever in Tucumcari NM, this is the place to be. Bryan is not the only one, but the graces and blessings on me partly came from the desert inn and Bryan Sloan. Thank you so much, I say gratitude only for lack of better term. Thank you forever

Well they try! Staff was very nice… the outside of the building looked nice… THEN you step inside. Older building which need much work. It was very clean… new floors in the halls and bathrooms. Walls are very thin… can hear the next room talking. Fire hazard ready to happen… extension cords from outlets hanging high on the wall running frig, microwave and lights. Fixtures missing

Air conditioner in the room we stayed in made so much noise you couldn’t hear the tv or sleep. They brought us a fan in about 10:30, just blowed hot air around the room the rest of the night, miserable. The tub drain would not drain out when taking a shower so you were standing in water. We were given $34 of our room bill back when we checked out, still to expensive a night to sleep without air conditioning.
Twila the worker on the evening shift was very helpful, doing everything she could to make us as comfortable as possible, however the morning worker was not very personable or friendly.

After finding out that the hotel we booked through Expedia had sold our room to another family before we got there and could no longer accommodate us (we’ve yet to receive a refund), we were forced to find a hotel at 10:30 PM. I saw Desert Inn’s sign from the other hotel and called. Twyla at the front desk not only gave us the best deal for our family, but was very sensitive to the fact we were tired and not happy. She was so pleasant and got us in our rooms quicker than if we had reserved them ahead of time. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and quiet. Perfect. The experience at Desert Inn turned the night around. If you’re ever passing through Tucumcari, NM, stay at Desert Inn!

I have no idea, but I don’t see why not. As long as you have a credit card, they don’t ask your age.
I suggest you call. The great thing about dealing with a smaller place, rather than a faceless corporate website, is that you can deal with a human being on the hotel premises.
