The last time I was here, I stayed in the Pink Pelican and did a review on that. This time I stayed in the Blue one.

The place has great prices and the check in went fine with the friendly woman who was there. She actually escorted me to the Blue Pelican which is just around the corner, but if you drove to the main entrance, you will have to kind of go in a big circle due to the one way streets.

The Blue pelican had more bed than I had at the Pink one, and this was because we had 3 people this time. Had one big bed in the main room with the TV and table, and a smaller one bed in the next room where the kitchen and bathroom was. The only downfall of course was the bathroom being right there, but it didn't bother me. The issue with the smaller bedroom is that there is a lack of lights and the one that was there was very dim. This wasn't an issue in the larger room.

Rooms had interesting art work that you could I think purchase if you wanted to and had a lot of tables and things around making it more home like feeling and not a barren empty room.

The kitchen was a full sized one, with everything you need to cook your own meals and a regular sized fridge and freezer and large sink.

The toilet was small and was hard to get into due to the placement of the sink. It reminded me of some of the hotels I've stayed in around London were if you were a bigger person, it could get tricky. It did come with basic amenities. The shower, much like the Pink Pelican is stone, much like the hot spring baths. It did take some time for the hot water to come on in the morning, but it did eventually, but the issue is it might be hard for taller people as the spout for the shower is very low and most people might have to duck a bit to get under it if they are over 5'9 or so. The water pressure wasn't too great either.

Location is right in the downtown area, so close to a lot of independent places, but not close to late night dining options where you would have to drive.

Hot springs are rooms in the main building and there are about 7 of them. Everything was the same as my last review about a year or two ago. You get to use them for free if you are staying there and you have your choice of rooms to use with their own size hot tub. Some rooms are better than others and some smaller and others larger for more people. The only draw back is having to wait till another rooms tub is filled before you can fill yours, which can take some time.

Still a fun little place to stay in Truth or Consequences and next time, I may try for the Red Pelican which I was told by the woman checking me in that it was her favorite building...

This place is kind of quirky much like the rest of Truth or Consequences. It is a step above a dive, but it suited us well. We got a reasonably priced room with a kitchen in the Pelican Apartment Motel, unlimited soaks included. All of the bright paint is to hide the general run down condition of the lodgings, but the bed was comfortable and it was nice to have a kitchen for a couple of days. The bathroom could have been cleaner and the shower was cramped and awkward, but good enough after a month of camping. The soaking pools were what we came for and they hit the spot. Each pool was in a private room and drained between each use with plenty of disinfectant available.

Overnight stay; had the Mandarin Suite in the Red Pelican building. Aside from the dark wall colors the room was quite large (double room, actually) and was well equipped with small refrig, coffee maker and microwave. Came with real silverware and glass cups, too, as well as wine stems. Huge courtyard services this group of rooms. The mineral spring baths were very clean, private, and relaxing, and the use of them is included in the room rate. The property is dated but quite trippy! Pets are allowed at an up charge I believe.

First let me just say I've been to many hot springs in this state and surrounding states. This is what my opinion is based on.

I was not impressed with this place much. The room we got was extremely small for $85+ a night room. The walls were Adobe and are painted (not very well) over with different colors. Walls are cracked/deteriorating and not repaired. Next, the room had a small portable heater, like you would find in Walmart, for heat in January. It barely kept the room warm enough. Then there wasn't a shower in our room. They expect you to, shower in the same tubs you soak in. In other words you soak in tubs other people have showered in. Think about that. At no time did I see anyone clean them after someone used them. Also tubs are first come first serve. Tubs are narrow like a horse trough. Didn't care for that. Only one nice sized tub was available to use and you have to wait for it, as most couples I saw, were waiting for it.
To sum this up, I think they really need to put some money into this place. For what you are being charged there you can go to Blackstone for a few dollars more. Its an older bulding as well but way better maintained and you get your own private good sized tub in your room!

We are in a vintage adobe and keep our rates among the lowest in the hot springs. We have Japanese style concrete soaking tubs that keep the water hot. Almost all hot springs include some kind of shower feature so you can add cold water if it gets too hot, or could rinse off afterwards if you choose. We keep an easy spray bottle in each tub for disinfecting. All our rooms are different and two do not have showers, which is posted and communicated with guests.

I have stayed in 3 different hotels in T or C and this was by far the most accommodating. Unlimited soaks are included in the stay. Other places only included one soak per stay. Bedding and the kitchen were clean. I booked a suite with a full stove, oven and refrigerator and I could share meals with others who were in town at the same time. If I needed an extra blanket or utensil, staff found it for me.

This recent visit was our third booking of the Persimmon Room at Pelican Spa. Room and bathroom cleanliness was much better for our first. During our second visit in 2019, I discovered quite the collection of beard trimmings behind the bathroom sink faucet. At least that was gone by our visit last week, but there was significant soap and toothpaste spatter on the walls around the bathroom sink. The floors had not been swept adequately. Water pressure in the shower was negligible. The shower also leaked from where it came out of the wall. I hate to think what is going on behind the retrofitted false wall. It would be nice if the owners would spring for a properly sized fitted sheet for the bed. I will not be booking again unless I read reviews from people raving about the cleanliness.

Toxic fumes from newly painted floor made room unhealthy. Doors were left open to ventilate.
Manager was very rude claiming "there no fumes" and they aren't toxic. If one googles polyurethane oil base paint it says the paint needs 5 to 7 days to dry and can cause serious health issues.
I don't like being made a fool of.
Never stay here, ever. We left for a safe healthy hotel.

Stayed across the street at the Pink Pelican for two nights last week in October. My unit had vinyl living room furniture that was worn and not comfortable. Mattress and pillows were very comfortable. No nightstands or tables in the bedroom. Needs at least one nightstand to place phone, water, etc. No electrical outlet in the bathroom. One of the most irritating things, tho, was the window a/c and heat combo unit. It was terribly loud and had to be ON almost all of the time. It would turn off but come back on within seconds making a loud boom. The bedroom didn't get enough heat. The small fenced backyard was great to sit in with the dog. They provide colored towels in the rooms and spa area. I prefer white so they can be bleached and are sanitary. Had a small issue with my statement that ended up being uncomfortable. I will try a different place when I go back. Concrete soaking tubs are probably three feet tall. I'm not sure people with limited mobility could get into them. I have stayed at another one three times but they were booked.

Because I grew up in New Mexico, I knew that Truth or Consequences used to be called Hot Springs. I was passing by on a drive towards home, but I never thought of staying at a spa until I noticed the price of this place and decided to try it for a night.

Funky and friendly is how this place felt. My room in the pink building (they have a number of building within a block or so of each other) was almost what you'd call a suite: a sitting "room" with a table and four chairs, a kitchen area with a microwave, small fridge, cabinets and basic dishes, a tiny bathroom, a sort of uncomfortable bed, and a very loud window air conditioner. The furniture was mismatched, there were tacky pictures on the wall, and everything was a riot of bright color. The tiny bathroom didn't have a hair dryer, and he only place to plug mine in was in the main room, which didn't have a mirror. All this, plus use of the spa for 12 hours a day, was a great deal for $65 including tax and a $3 credit card surcharge.

The spa is in the same building as a full kitchen, which guests are welcome to use. The spa rooms are basic: a plain gray concrete tub with a big plastic spigot for the spring water, which pours out quickly. These aren't "hot"... the water was close to body temperature. But the water doesn't smell as it does at many spas, and the minerals in it are supposedly good for all kinds of ailments etc.

This is in the middle of the tourist area of T or C (as new Mexicans call it), with a number of restaurants, galleries, and tourist traps nearby. I got a huge breakfast for $9. I'm planning to come back for a few days when I have a chance. I'd also like to go to the Spaceport America visitor center close by, where Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic launches flights into space from this spacey town.

I cancelled a reservation due to our concerns about traveling at this time and was told by Pelican rep that only big cities have the virus; that TRC is exempt. My concerns were dismissed by the person I spoke with. This tells me that Pelican is not taking the precautions and preventive measures that they should be. I am from a big city as are many visitors to Pelican- TRC is not in a bubble. Pelican should be reassuring guests that they are doing everything recommended by health officials to ensure the safety of guests, not dismissing the pandemic as nothing to worry about.
I was told I would get a credit for a future visit, but I have not received the credit, though frankly, I'm very disappointed in the treatment I received so it's unlikely I would ever stay there anyway.

Hi, the baths are in the office building called the spa. There are six private baths made out of thick cement to keep in the heat. The water is changed for each use. You also have a small sitting room room to dry off and change that is connected to the bath. The baths are all complementary. Sid bryan, owner
