We stayed at the Kachina Lodge in Taos again last week. The Kachina is where many people stay when they go to northern New Mexico to ski, raft the Rio Grande, hike or mountain bike in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, hunt big game, go prospecting or treasure hunting, or… the Kachina is like Adventure Central for Taos. We have... More

Would I recommend this hotel to a friend? No. My mantra in reviewing hotel rooms: clean, quiet, comfortable. The bed was fine and the room reasonably quiet but the bathroom was not inviting at all. There was a rubber mat attached to the bottom of the tub. It was stained and dirty looking. There was no way I could set... More

We got a room at the last minute on Hotwire for $60 and I felt good about that. When we got there, I realized it was not worth a penny more! It was fine for our one night stay, but I would not have wanted to stay any longer than that. Drapes hanging off of the rod that was pulled... More

Good price for a Taos hotel, but this is hotel is so 70s. And not in a good way. They would do well to clean a little better. I recall the scent of air freshener (and not in a good way) years later. The breakfast is a bonus, but it's really only white bread and some eggs/cheese and horrible coffee.... More

This hotel has obviously seen its heyday (sp?) and it is past its prime. It seemed like they were maintaining it to about 80% so it was old but clean. Nice people work here and there were very large grounds to enjoy some space...big plus in our book. The normal rooms are dark. The deluxe room was still dark but... More

Last week, September 17th and 18th 2013, I stayed at the Kachina Lodge and it was another great experience. Every year I look forward to walking the six acres of grounds at the Kachina and seeing those historic old buildings surrounded by nearby mountains. On this visit I learned that many celebraties have stayed at the Kachina, including; Dennis Hopper,... More

This was my first time time to stay at the Kachina and I have to say it was a great one. The room was spacious and clean and a perfect base of operations for sight seeing around Taos. Highly recommended.

Love this place, have stayed here many times before and as always the service and reception were great! This Lodge is very old fashioned in style and a wonderful place to use as a base for touring in the area. The rooms vary in size and but are well appointed and set out. Yes there have been some changes since... More

Went up to Taos for the weekend. We stayed 2 nights at the Kachina. The room was clean and the location was great, just a 5 minute walk to the Plaza. The hotel was charming and the pool was the perfect place to relax in the evenings, over all a beautiful trip

We stayed here when it was still manged by Best Western and the quality was modest. However, when Kachina Lodge changed management - the service went DOWN HILL. The floors were so nasty and sticky that I didn't take off my shoes. Very uncomfortable. The food was greasy, dry and God knows how long it was in the buffet area.
