Our room, the St. Thomas, was huge and beautifully decorated. The lighting was very subdued. Even with every lamp turned on, it was difficult to read a book. The only window was facing the busy sidewalk/street, so it was impossible to keep it open without feeling that my bedroom was a store front. The hallway was very stuffy and hot,... More

The Apache room had very hard beds, old pillows, and old, worn out bedding. The windows had no latches; anyone could have gotten in easily. The Jemez room had a good bed and better bedding. Strangely, it was cheaper than the Apache room. Both rooms were very dark. Additional lamps were needed. Breakfast was very good.

I wanted to like this B&B, but my friend and I ended up leaving Taos a day early, in large part because we just weren't comfortable here. I'll start with the positives. The location of this B&B cannot be bettered; it's a brief walk from the plaza, and only slightly longer to the art museum, a supermarket, and several restaurants... More

The Casa Benavides Inn is literally just off the Plaza in Taos NM. And that means it is conveniently close to everything without being on the main drag through town. It was possible to choose the room you wanted on the internet which was great for us. We got a good room at a very reasonable rate. The staff was... More

Room was large and clean. Breakfast included in room rate was gourmet level. Also included is afternoon tea with large selection of homemade pastries and cakes. Staff was outgoing and helpful. Within 5-10 minute walk of all shopping and restaurants, parking is included, we never moved car while we we in Taos. Not all rooms have a window if that... More

A cross between a quaint bed & breakfast and a large inn, Casa Benavides is a gem in the heart of Taos. The location is ideal, nearly on the corner of Paseo del Pueblo and Kit Carson Road, where you can walk over to the Plaza, numerous restaurants and shops, and many galleries. The rooms are varied and quite different,... More

This place is a lovely, cozy and well kept Inn right down the street from the main square! It is also a quick walking distance to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. It was a special Mother/Daughter trip and we thoroughly enjoyed the pretty room, the quiet, and the beautiful dining room and homemade breakfast with homemade granola! Tea in the... More

The Inn has a lot of Taos charm, but avoid 'the Trapper' room. There is one chair and no desk. You have to sit on the bed to read or anything else...use your laptop, etc. The room is very close to Kit Carson (one of two busy streets in Taos) which has road noise much of the day/evening. The gravel... More

We definitely highly recommend Casa Benavides for couples or individuals. It *may* not be great for kids due to semi breakable furnishings, but it would depend on the family. Rooms are nicely appointed in southwestern decor. Afternoon tea involves numerous very good pastries and tea. Breakfast consisted of gourmet granola, peaches, yogurt, tea, juice, and/or coffee, and your choice of... More
