Welcomed with a lovely note inviting me onto the property and a bottle of wine and lovely treats as I entered my home for the weekend. Richard greeted me soon after and gave me a tour of the property that included a beautiful and fruitful garden (available for use in my kitchen as needed), a protected space near the stream for meditation and/or yoga, various outdoor seating areas and a cheerful chicken run who's ladies provide fresh eggs to guests daily. My casita (Bantam) was perfect for me. Beautiful kitchen stocked with all the cooking bits you could need, a comfortable living room and a spacious bedroom and adjacent full bath. This home also has a shady veranda off of the bedroom with a hammock and chairs for all your afternoon siesta needs. I was sorry to leave, and am looking forward to my next visit!…
We rented out the entire property of Casa Gallina for our wedding party and it couldn't of been better! Our friends were flabbergasted over the casitas, decor, the property & garden, acequia, chickens, and hospitality. Everything was top notch from our welcome treats and wine, to the daily snacks, and warm greetings from the care takers. Richard was out visiting family, so we were not able to meet him, however prior to our trip communication with him was fast and easy. You can't find hospitality like this at a hotel or airbnb, you won't regret staying here!
My daughter and I just spent the weekend in Taos and were so fortunate to find this little gem to stay! We had the most wonderful time and enjoyed the relaxing and comfortable accommodations at Casa Gallina! We were welcomed with snacks and a wonderful bottle of wine to start! Our Casita was a welcome retreat and oh so peaceful and relaxing! We will definitely be back! Thank you for the wonderful coffee, assortment of teas, cookies…..and oh we can’t forget the fresh eggs and spinach from the garden! We loved every minute and wanted to stay longer! I highly recommend this wonderful oasis in the countryside of Taos! Cheers!
We visited Casa Gallina last fall and made plans to come back this spring. We stayed in Barred Rock after being in the Roost last fall. We were worried it wouldn't be as nice because the Roost was so wonderful. We were not disappointed as the same amount of attention to detail, decorations and finishes were just as nice. Furthermore, the staff could not have been more attentive and it seemed like they were always going out of their way to make sure everything was good. They assisted us with food and creating space for all our needs. I can't recommend it enough and will certainly be back for a third time.
What a fantastic stay at Casa Gallina! We stayed in a two bedroom casita and all of enjoyed it so much! It is clean, very nicely decorated, coffee, cream, fresh eggs, olive oil, spices - all provided by wonderful and attentive host Richard. It is peaceful and calm, with beautiful stream on premises and lots of cozy places to spend time outside relaxing. Can’t wait to go back!
I can't praise Casa Gallina highly enough. The accommodation is well equipped and filled with personal touches from Richard who is a fantastic host. The setting is beautiful and serene in lovely countryside but only a 5 min drive from Taos.
My wife and I had a beautiful studio with ensuite bathroom and kitchen. It opened directly to the luscious back yard with the chickens happily clucking away. Richard made checking in and out extremely easy and the fresh eggs each morning was a nice touch.
We were looking for some place to stay near Taos that was off the beaten path. We were still only about 5 minutes from the plaza. After reading the rave reviews this sounded just like the place we were looking for. Our expectations were exceeded. I really liked having a full service kitchen for some of our meals that we could prepare in the casita. Meeting Richard was one of the highlights of the experience. He was so thoughtful and made you feel like family. Looking forward to a return trip.
We spent 2 nights in our little Casita at Casa Gallina and had the most relaxing time. From the snacks and and wine that greeted us when we arrived to the fresh eggs each morning, our stay could not have been any better. Richard is an amazing host and great source of information of what to do around Taos.
We spent three nights in Casita Leghorn with our two small dogs. Our first visit and surely not our last to Casa Gallina. Leghorn was just right - warm , cozy and visually interesting. My husband made a fire in the fireplace all three nights. The dogs had freedom to roam in a safe environment. Richard spoiled us with fresh baked goods daily. He and Sean and “the girls” were delightful. Location is great for easy access to Taos and to hiking. You cannot go wrong with a stay at Casa Gallina.
