Was very fortunate to get a last minute reservation here. There was a big wedding in town...and I must have gotten a cancellation. Richard, my host, was amazing. He met me and gave me a tour of the my casita (which graciously accepted Rocky, the Chihuahua) and a tour of the adjacent grounds. My little home away from home was... More

This is our second visit to Casa Gallina, 5 years apart, 2 different casitas, loved them both. The clean country-ish air & experience, chickens included, make for a relaxing & casual getaway with plenty of room to roam inside & out. Richard, the host, is delightful, informative & a tremendously talented baker- he indulged us with a wonderful daily treat... More

Our two night stay in Taos was a short family reunion for my two adult children, my 16 year old grandson, and myself while attending a family wedding. Our arrival began with Richard's warm welcome to our 3 Bdrm casita complete with warm handshake & hug, appetizers (crackers, cheese, stuffed grape leaves, peppers, eggs, nuts, apples) & wine, and a... As the sun shined through the drooping branches of the willow tree, I sat at the base and looked up from the salubrious meal we had just harvested and cooked to take it all in. The organic beds in the foreground near the stucco casitas contained a plethora of salads, kales, broccolini, herbs, beets, carrots, rhubarb, tomatoes....the perfectly ripe apples... More

We've been enjoying Taos for thirteen years, but we just found this gem. We had the privilege of staying in the Bantam Roost and also the Barred Rock, and we toured almost all the other properties. They are ALL very spacious and beautifully decorated, and spotless! We were warmly met by the owner and now consider him a friend! Best... More

Once again, Richard and Matt have blown me away with the magic and peace at Casa Gallina. Perfect simple hospitality, emphasizing all that is good in life. A weekend here leads you to believe that everything will be ok the world. Chicken songs, tango music drifting through the air, gluten free bakes that make you forget flour, art on the... More

Stumbled upon Casa Gallina while searching for a place to spend a night in Taos. Two nights were required, and the minute we arrived we realized that two nights may not be enough. The property is beautifully maintained, with chickens for morning eggs and a vegetable garden at your disposal. Our casita was beautifully appointed with eclectic and tasteful furniture... More

We recently stayed at Casa Gallina for the first time and it won't be the last! We stayed in the Studio casita, which was so well done, with every detail thought of. Richard was a fabulous host and has created a slice of heaven on earth! He represents the essence and vibe of Taos wonderfully. He was a wealth of... More

My husband and I have stayed at Casa Gallina four times, both in the Barred Rock and Leghorn casitas. We would stay 100 times more if we could. There is no lodging we've ever encountered that provides such a welcoming, relaxing, and, yes, magical experience. Richard has created a slice of Paradise in Taos. The casitas are delightfully decorated. The... More

I found Casa Gallina many years ago while searching for an eco friendly place in Taos. We've been returning yearly since. We fell in love with Richard and the property from the first night. You will not be better taken care of anywhere. The casitas are warmly decorated and inviting with all the amenenties. Richard is available for anything else... More
