The first reason is Richard. Nicest guy ever and will make your trip special every time. The second reason would be the very special casitas. Each decorated individually and special. The third is the chickens. The chickens are just cool. The last two trips we brought our Standard Poodle Salt and she was warmly welcomed. Need to add the town of Taos to the mix. Reminds me of Austin back in the days when Austin was fun and smaller. Thanks Richard for another wonderful time. We will be back.
I don't even know how to put into words how amazing this place is. The owner is more thoughtful than most of my friends and family! Everything from the stunning furnished casitas to the sweet chickens welcome you from the moment you arrive. Our amazing host brought us treats and fresh eggs from the girls daily. The happy hour he set up for us upon arrival brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it, so beautiful. We loved visiting the little ladies every day with table scraps which they gleefully devoured. The sweet property pups greeted us daily as well. The kitchens are gorgeously stocked with local accouterments which made cooking such a joy (not to mention the gorgeous veggies and herbs we foraged from the lush gardens) This was a very special birthday thanks to Casa Gallina. 2020 has been a tough year and this place offers more than a reprieve. I can't wait to return.…
My girlfriend and I stayed in the Bantam Roost casita. It was so beautiful and relaxing to get away. Having a full kitchen was great to be able to cook whenever we wanted to - and getting to pick a fresh salad from the garden made every meal even better. And feeding the Girls (and getting delicious eggs every morning) was the best! Whether it was eating breakfast in the breakfast nook, reading in the hammock on the balcony, or walking around the property, it was an amazing time. Totally recommend this place for anyone!
We spent 2 nights at the Barred Rock casita and it wasn't enough. It was a quick 'quarantine getaway' for us from Albuquerque and it was truly relaxing and invigorating! Richard treated us like rock stars and the place is beautiful, clean and well equipped with anything you might need. We made the most delicious breakfasts every morning with the fresh eggs, veggies and herbs from the garden and other treats provided by Richard. So peaceful! Highly recommend.
We spent three nights in the Bantam Roost, relaxing, making great meals, and hanging with the chickens. Casa Gallina is a beautiful property and Richard is a very charming and excellent host. Richard gave us several tips for great hikes around Taos; It was the perfect place to unwind, and watching the chickens is a joyous experience.
