My husband and I stayed here last month, and while we had a wonderful time in the town of Taos, we looked forward to getting back to our room each night. Our room was very clean with a balcony, a fire place, and a soaking tub. The staff was friendly. Enjoyed just walking around the property.

Lots of slightly odd/strange things here. Clearly El Monte markets itself as very high end, but know that: 1. Mountain Room was adorned with cow skins (fur and hides) on closet doors, chair edges and desk tops. This may not appeal to all??? 2. No walls to separate bathroom space...so huge tub, 2 sinks and space outside of shower is... More

From the Valet parking who handled your bags, to the extravagant room it was a relaxing and pampered visit. The room possessed one of the most comfortable king size beds I've ever encountered, a two person Jacuzzi with privacy curtains just feet from that same bed, a cheerful and cozy fireplace, and most of the amenities you could ever want.... We were lucky to be upgraded to one of the world suites and had a huge living room and two beautiful bathrooms. Really well designed bathrooms with deep tubs and good lighting etc. The decor is very attractive with beautiful tiling, a lovely fireplace and lots of attractive object d'art. Friendly staff, great breakfast and beautiful grounds - what's not... More

Unfortunately we were only able to spend one night at this spectacular hotel and look forward to returning. Matt at the reception area made our short visit all the more outstanding by upgrading us to a beautiful suite with the best views of the grounds. I was contending with our dog while my husband dealt with a migraine and Matt... More

El Monte Sagrado is the place to go to get away from the stresses of everday life, because there is nothing everday about this beautiful hotel. This place was so inviting and pleasant that I elected to pass on our organized tour for a whole day and just spent the day pampering myself in everyway the hotel could provide. You... More

Not often would I obsess about how wonderful a hotel bar is, but Anaconda Bar at El Monte hotel is beyond awesome! The precious bar tender was very attentive to us. We went to have a cocktail before dinner. The atmosphere was so beautiful we ended up eating our dinner at the bar which is so not us. We had... More

We came for a short weekend visit and couldn't have picked a better place. From the moment of arrival until the moment we left, the staff were attentive and made sure our stay was perfect. The grounds are beautiful and the rooms clean and comfortable. I would especially like to recognize Julia at the front desk who was especially attentive... More

Very nice welcome reception and bags arrived speedily to rooms. Front office Manager- Matthew was extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble walking distance to town of Taos. Restaurant served great dinner- we had Elk that was cooked and melted in your mouth. Breakfast was a little slow but good food. , All rooms have great outlook of open... More

Having lived in Taos for 22 years, we were ecstatic when El Monte Sagrado was completed and offered their gorgeous bar and dining rooms to local traffic. El Monte takes Southwest architecture and interior design to a new height. Food, bar and all dining service is exceptional.
